  1. basic checklist. 1. tesseract freq 2. tesseract input source is actually receiving power. 3. tesseract redstone signal req to null to be safe. 4. correct type of tesseracts. ( ive actually placed item tesseracts instead of liquid ones.) 5. where is the tesseract placed at the quarry? tesseracts can be just placed beside the quarry to give it power, no need for conduits. 6. are you sure BOTH sides are correctly loaded? i always though about a scenario where the quarry tesseract was outside the load chunks of the quarry itself. so if you leave it never loads. same with the other side... is the chyunk properly loaded? 7. world anchor? yuk... use dim anchors or spot loaders. xD
  2. planters plant cocoa beans.... just place rows of jungle wood 1 high in the region you tell the planter to plant cocoa
  3. THIS. i did the exact same thing to keep my Steve's Carts Farms running 24/7. you have no idea how much coal those things use.
  4. i dont know why but the error logs appear on my desktop every time i crash without a visual warning of the crash. the files are named "hs_err_pid2752.log" and by that number i think ive crashed a lot xD
  5. omniwrench is the one you need for everything. and its relatively cheap. i think the only other thing youll ever need is the presicion sledgehammer, for rednet. but its not that important. keep to the omniwrench. makeshift batteries cannot be moved without loosing their power or their tier level. (you can upgrade them to hold up to 80k Mj) but breaking them resets them. the power fist has an omniwrench upgrade, and its even cheaper than the onmiwrench itself. Edit: as a general rule, shift + wrench breaks most items in TE and AE, im not really sure about MFR. if you wanna break things fast in MFR or harvest tons of crystal like materials like glowstone or simply break tons of glass use the Warhammer..... its ungodly fast to break items from MFR and other stuffz edit2: wow i just realized the retarded amount of tools in this mod... normal wrench, quartz wrench, precision sledgehammer, crescent hammer, and the onmitool and the screwdriver...... worst thing is... i know where each of those work with.... i wish i were this knowledgeable in school and not just video games.
  6. energetic infusers are the machines with most energy requiremets at 500 mj / t. I can charge my 10M mj armor in a couple mins..... maybe youre not giving it enough power. :D
  7. wooden conductive pipes have a 16 mj/t limit. make sure each steam engine has its own pipe. wooden conductive pipes make any kind of energy storage bleed power. thats the main reason I dont use them. make energy conduits and stop using that crappy bc system. its only good for super early starts. bc pipes do not loose power anymore. they have set limits depending on what they are made, being diamond pipes the best, but still crappy with 1024 mj/t. conduits carry over 2k and auto regulate engines to avoid having to wrench them. I would tell you the wiki but I dont have it. sorry.
  8. by adding the solar panek and the kinetic generator you should have power forever. somo people like adding the thermal gen. also, always add the shock absorbers on you boots and the cooling system on your chest. or youll burn to death if you dont watch your temp. at this point I dont recommend extensive use of the fist to mine, if you dont have an energetic infuser it might he a pain to recharge suit.
  9. I can say for sure that cocoa beans and netherwart are extremely efficient. the only saplings that you should consider are oak and rubber. as I always said, rubber is like a virus. grows anywhere and extremely fast without fertilizer. as for wheat.... that thing is the most useless of all the bios you can use.
  10. and its not like minium shards are hard to get..... grab a Warhammer.... charge it in the middle of a mob spawner room... BAM! 50 mobs down with one hit. edit: you can do this by placing the mob spawner a couple blocks above in the roof to allow mobs to leave the area the spawner needs to make more mobs. just not high enough to kill em from the fall xD (slimes work the best with each split counting as a new mob)
  11. i ran a very complex farm. collection cactus green, carrots, potatoes , pumpkins, melons, rubber and oak trees as well as netherwart and cocoa beans. without fertilizer things just dont grow fast enough.... well in my case i was feeding 45 bioreactors.... if youre just going to run 10 you might even just want to use 3*3s. maybe Dew or Gildan can help here, since they are the ones running Bio with those levels or requirements.
  12. OMG. ink works as fuel for bioreactors?!? im going to place thousands of those pools xD
  13. basically something like a balrog on steroids. no fire but dark evil mist all around him.
  14. i recommend you place a couple diamond chests before planning a demolish on a MAC. and go straight for the pattern providers so you can space click all items into the chest. xD specially since each pattern provider stores twice as much patterns as you can carry.
  15. @OP i bet you thought these steam engines were the one from before.... names changed. Steam engines became Stirling, and the new steam engine requires water xD @weir 1. if you click on your quarry with the multimeter itll say that its requesting 500 energy.... 500 of what unit i dunno, but i believe somewhere between 100 and 50 Mj/t are required. a TON more magmatic engines XD 2. default size is 9*9 inside and 11*11 outside. (Hole is 9*9 and the frame is 11*11*5 i believe. 3. best and fastest way to place a Quarry is 3 landmarks and one torch place the first landmark, and drop the torch beside it.... fly to both ends of the blue line and drop the two torches... fly back and click on the middle one....Done XD quarry placed in 10 seconds.
  16. how about making a substation on the nether near a pump..... you build a tank system in the nether, a small one. and use that as the receiving point of the pump youre gonna place in the overworld. once its full return to your base and get that liquid back to the overworld in your base... its a little work, but it shoould be enough to allow you to get liquids or items cheaper. i will call that technique the Surrogate Teleportation Method.
  17. ive seen dartcraft.... and i kinda feel like its borderline OP.... not just the engines....the force wrench.... the wands... the armor gives you flight mode quite easily...etc... just to give you an idea.... the force wrench does something that only can be rivaled with autospawners and the porta spawner and these are mid to late game stuff. the wrench is dirt cheap. not to mention that it literally turns any block into items and it keeps anything withing them.... i mean i love dart craft, never used it but it looks fun on the lets plays.... but i would hate myself for using it.
  18. by your comment i imagine you have no other form of chunk loaders.... if you really want you could use the pumps as chunk loaders....or the quarries..... xD
  19. this. when I made my 2 engine towers (208 engines iirc) the first thing I nade sure was that the water supply was on the same chunk. since all thoseengines require a ton of aqueus accumulators I couldnt so u had to make sure that if I ran those enginws I had to have a 3x3 chunk loader. and no, no problems.. I once forgot to turn them off and when I came back a couple days later they werw perfect and I still had tons of fuel left. biofuel? atomic power? screw that. im staying with fossil fuel for a while. extra: combustion engines are so efficient that to empty them I had to play for 2 days before they were empty. and I still had the second tower with fuel. Edit: Do not bother with sterling engines.... those are the ones that explode the most. just skip to steam....more reliable, powerfull and easy to use. one aqueous accumulator should feed like 5 or 6 of those.
  20. thats in the newest FTB mod pack isnt it? its also posible to do the same just removing the attached to source block for nether lava.
  21. in the last few weeks ive been working on a complete overhaul of my power system. i have biofuel, combustiĆ³n, magmatic and Atomic science reactors. and of all of those combustiĆ³n engines turned out to be the ones that required the least maintainance. my farms died because the chunks unloaded, lava created lagg and atomic science requires me to keep an eye on it to avoid lossing retarded amounts of power..... onr bucket of fuel gives energy 1:30 Hours. nuff said.
  22. it has no kick and attacks a lot faster. a good tradeoff. specially good for those that hate having to chase the zombie after every hit. (i believe it has more DPS for the same reason)
  23. Conduits transport MORE than 2,000 MJ/t (thats when i stopped caring about the limit and stopped experimenting) tesseracts have a 100 MJ/t limit PER face. for a total of 600 MJ/t
  24. never seen a reactor like that, but yes you should make sure that every magnet that is touched by the plasma has water on every side it possibly can. one example of this is that the end magnets can heat 2 or sometimes even 3 completely different water source blocks. as for the amount of turbines it depends. if you want to take the steam somewhere else you might need at least 3 times as many turbines as you could fit ontop of the reactor. just to give you an idea, when i made a single reactor the same size as yours i needed around 190 ish turbines. double (at least) that number if you want to take the steam out
