  1. just use a dsu. store it all, save it for whatever might come next. my dsu has nearly 1.8 million cobble? I dont even bother anymore. I jus place a dsu at the end of my diamond pipe instead of a void pipe and thats it.
  2. think of it as space resrved for item storage. think of each disk as a cluster of 63 dsu. so if you place one cobble the entire dsu is just for cobble the only reason that 64k disks loose more space is because the dsu inside are bigger. now that I think of it he prolly just did it like that so the other disks didnt become obsolete late game.
  3. WOW, No one mentioned the AE singularities.... you need 250,000 units of cobble to make one singularity. and then use that singularity to make multidimensional networks.
  4. i had the same problem until i went full retard (as in max size everything) made a 64*64 ring. Make sure the inner radius is 64. build the rest of the accelerator around that. make it Square. always square. why? because it works XD once you place the particle accelerator itself feed it from the top, front and bottom. make sure all conduits are to output energy. also, kill any other block consuming power and dedicate the reactor to just the accelerator. you might need to play a little to place the lever, sometimes removing a magnet from a side works. if the particle says "failure" remove one conduit and work with just 2. replace the magnet you removed and work with 2 conduits one lever. also, having a reactor doesnt mean its a lot of power. sometimes designs are just useless for energy generation. specially the auto build ones. post a screenshot of your reactor, but unless its as efficient as some of the reactors posted around here and on the atomic science config thread its prolly NOT enough power, thats why its stuck at 50%
  5. isnt that like.... 20 java versions old? lol arent we on 7?
  6. it was MJ/t, thats after i divided by 5. it was basically everything i ever needed plugged into a single massive network. from manufacturing to ore processing to auto crafting (manufacturing is how i call the branch of my network whose sole responsibility is having hardened glass, glass bronze, steel etc when i need it, while auto crafting is the MAC and some cyclic assemblers) to farming and energy production. that and a couple thousand ME cables and a crap ton of buses, level emiters, and a TON of deep storage units with 4 or 5 64k storage disks. OH! don't forget about bio fuel generation, Steve carts refueling, industrial fertilizer collection and delivery as well as harvesters and planters and what not. i think i even plugged my Atomic Science department for production of deuterium and the extraction of antimatter from my Hadron collider. it was then that i realized i was killing Dew's server xD so i basically tore it down and im in the process of making it all compact and able to be kept online on a single 3*3 chunk area. quite the job if i say so... specially when all that i mentioned earlier was housed in a massive underground bunker covering at least 5*10 chunks and 60+ levels (blocks) i think the only thing i never plugged into my AE system was the combustion engines and the bio generators. am i forgetting something Dew? Edit : quantum bridges do not extract energy from the AE networks. so my 500 ish MJ/t was from AE network itself. by the time i added my first quantum bridge i had 40% of the network torn down.
  7. ill be honest, 20% is nothing. the only thing that would use that much power is a AE system (ive had up to 200 Mj/t consumption) and even then my energy production system far surpasses any loss made on tesseracts. Everything, and i mean everything in my base is powered by tesseracts. if you think 20% is a ripoff, well until not too long ago it was 25% + any loss in conduits. right now is just a flat 20% btw, conduits have no loss, same for new BC conductive pipes. so if you still care for that small loss just use golden conductive pipes and up, or a simple conduit line. both of those have NO energy loss
  8. has anyone tried using the autarchic gates or the logistics system for refueling?
  9. Conduits transport well over 2000 MJ/t, and if you use BC pipes and the turbine generates more than 36 mj/t then youre wasting power.
  10. try using Conduits not conductive pipes. try something like this http://imgur.com/a/S4gma#0 http://imgur.com/a/2jvQE#2 any of those things will greatly increase your power output, specially the last one. one block of boiling water produces more steam than what a single turbine can use.
  11. Ouch And yes, sometimes caves just miss diamond clusters for like 1 block. And puff youre never gonna find em. Just strip mine at 12 and youll eventually hit a diamond.
  12. Ugh.... Arduinos..... Lol sorry its a running joke when i was in electronic technologies :D
  13. it happens, make sure you remove the phased first and that its not currently receiving/sending anything.
  14. have you tried using a simple storage unit as adapter between the BC pipes and the Conduits? that might work as a makeshift adapter.
  15. pigs use carrots. Damn it i got ninja'd
  16. well thanks for the source, it has some nice points like tiered conduits and REC, which im just thrilled for. Now all we need is a boat. Lol. could not resist.
  17. 1.- Those times are gone. Now ic2 is the one no longer being updated. Regardeless of donations, since the creator is MIA. I guess RL got to him. 2.- TE has the option to triple mineral output. Not that you even needed that. Quarries produce so much that once your processing system is up it wont matter. 3.- faster machines is meh. Do it properly and you will Never have to wait for stuff to be done, just like with point 2. In all the time ive played tekkit, not once ive had to wait for something out of my machines. Well... Maybe once.. But i was making a fussion reactor with a 64x64 particle accelerator. Thats a lot of bronze :/
  18. since i had no idea how much steam could be transported on each liquiduct, or the limit on liquid tesseracts, i went for overkill. i added 2 tesseract for each fusion reactor, and one tesseract at the middle. for a total of 9 tesseracts. plugged from all sides. you can see some of those on this album http://imgur.com/a/2jvQE#1
  19. TE could not be easier. pulverize ---> Smelt -----> build.
  20. New features? what does IC2 has or could get that we dont already have much better and with reliable updates? RELIABLE UPDATES. IC2 has not been properly updated for a very long time. please not that just making the mod available for the next minecraft version does not count. even less if it never actually reaches recommended status.
  21. i eliminated the need for long lines of liquiducts by doing this: http://imgur.com/a/HvcTv#0 its a small variation of the mass liquid storage some guys uploaded, gildan helped me do it and it turned out quite usefull. regarding input and output: i can keep 200 ish combustion engines powered no problem, no shortage of fuel. i can also power 250 ish bio-fuel engines so the output of fuel is more than enough. Edit: you can hold 12200 ish buckets.
  22. lol, yeah wooden doors arent realiable either. the closest one spawned 5k from my home last time i got lost. if youre in the limbo you can either find that pool stuff or get into another dim gate. or simply always have a linking book. you dont loose your stuff if you end in the limbo. i died a lot of times to that nasty tnt alley.
