  1. what you guys should try is to harness the steam. reactors create more steam than the turbines around can use. one of my friends in the server showed me this and now i power nearly 450 turbines (or 52ish large ones) from 4 fusion reactors. one tap of the power button and the turbines keep running for a long time.
  2. Damn. thats good to know. my BC lasers are plugged into the mainline wihtout on or off switches.
  3. i dont know, but after i plugged 4 wooden pipes from a REC into a line of diamond conductive pipes, the REC started loosing 10 MJ every second or so.
  4. you need a detector rail and the correct configuration for the side the rail is attached to. make sure its the order you want. Ex: unload from tank or load from manager into tank.
  5. tyvm man, you have no idea how grateful i am, specially knowing you dont play MC while doing this for us. Again, thank you.
  6. as the title says is, apparently there are 3 of reasons NOT to bother using BC pipes as cool as they look. new pipe system has 1024 MJ/t pipes? cool!!! its useless. no pipe in the system is capable of even extrating that much power. you need 4 wooden pipes for each REC. it kills aesthetics. new BC pipes Do NOT connect to Redstone energy conduits. which makes em useless if you try to bypass the need for the crappy wooden pipes. Edit: just found another reason.... if you try to use 4 wooden pipes to extract the power the battery just keeps draining no matter what. come on guys! i love bc pipes and ive been looking forward to the new pipe system, only to be useless or impractical to use. XS can i expect a fix anytime in the future for this? is this a real issue or im just being a retard?
  7. its quite simple tbh wooden pipes extract energy/liquid/items once provided with redstone pulses like engines or autarchic gates. the different type of pipes just allow a bigger flow of items liquid or energy. some pipes have limitations as to where they can connect to. wooden pipes dont connect to each other and sandstone pipes do no connect to anything else but pipes. golden transport pipes provide a speed boost while cobblestone pipes dont. thats 90% of the pipes must know in one paragraph. the rest you can find it on your own. some of them pretty much do what their names tell. (void pipes erase items)
  8. a mix of scenery + functional purpose set of view decks. along with maintenance tunnels what have power/ME cables/oxygen and rednet. all the other rooms would branch out in engineering, storage and Power production levels.
  9. lol.... it worked in 1.1.5!!! had to fill those spots with something when i found out i could not make more CPUS xD
  10. No one is taking my resources since im using a private freq in my biofuel tesseract. i have 288 generators. so the fuel wont last that long without supervision. also, ive been watching and as gildan said, checked for chunk loaders. none was present. as of a result i see that every now and then my generators have to produce energy for some reason, i shut down the biofuel intake and even though the tesseract connected to the generators is offline (all of them) my generators have to replace some loss every now and then. apparently everytime the server loads the chunks the conduits have to be filled with energy. even though this happens it should not be enought to empty 12k buckets in one night.....specially since no one is online at those times.
  11. hello guys, ive been having some trouble at the server ive been playing on. a while ago i made some large storage tanks out of liquid managers (12k buckets). the problem arises when i log off or leave my base. As we all know the base should unload and stop working, but it doesnt. before you ask, im not using ANY dim anchors, or chunk loaders for that matter. Even though none are placed when i come back my entire storage, all 12k buckets, are GONE, in just a matter of hours. i also notice some other issues as oak saplings and pumpkins dying of off my farms for no apparent reason. as an example i had over 2000 saplings last time i checked, and when i came back even my farm was out of saplings to plant. my question is, are there any other blocks in the game that work as Dim anchors? i know quarries do, but are there any others? its really pissing me off that every time i log off and go to sleep i know that the next day im going to spend at least 30 mins fixing my farm and waiting till i have the minimum amount of saplings before starting to get more biofuel, not to mention filling up 12k buckets.
  12. what? i think all you need is 5 fission reactors and a nearly dead rod then surround the one fission reactor with other 4 fission reactors all with breeder fuel. they will recahrge the fissile rod slowly. dont forget to add water and control the temp or they go boom.
  13. Direwolf20 has a ton of letsplay that are basically extended tutorials as he explains Everything.
  14. the fission reactor only heats up water blocks in a certain radius as well as Height! any chance to see a picture of your reactor?
  15. another thing you can do is to go into creative mode, go into each mod tab and test each mod separatedly. we all started like this. just play like vanilla minecraft and start going into the tekkit side slowly. tbh asking somenone to teach you how to play is kinda of a bad idea.
  16. always.. ALWAYS. install cooling systems. Heat sinks do nothing else but allow you yo accumulate more heat before becoming dangerous. deserts and nether generate heat a lot faster, of course, ice biomes dissipate heat faster.
  17. im not sure.... but maybe the server has those spikes because its running something. are there any dim anchors? are those anchors close to some complicated stuff like quarries importing constantly into an ME network? Big computercraft programs running? Once ,in the server i played, i caused a massive lagg spike everytime i logged into my base. the reason? my fertilizer farms were not properly dumping the fertilizer and it was being dropped to the ground. the result was that the retarded amount of items on the floor caused a massive lag spike that never went away every time i logged into my base. it got that bad because i left a dim anchor and the game just kept producing fertilizer.
  18. Dakota, if you're using gates you should take one more step forward and turn those into Autarchic gates, these types of gates have a redstone engine included in their "pulse mode". 1.- try using regular wooden pipes. since those tanks will always contain fuel, no need to specify. 2.- make sure the gates are not interfering with each other. take into account how OR/AND function and that the pipe wire is correctly placed. 3.- Sometimes if you program gates incorrectly they'll start functioning weird, mine once started pulsing into the pipe wire randomly.
  19. Liking other mods does not warrant any kind of hate or negative thought. at least thats my standing point. although forestry has some nasty history and a "one time too many" events. i dont trust forestry and i will probably never will. although i was surprised only plow answered the question.... i kept quiet because i simply do not know XD
  20. i don't know if its compatible with tekkit, but you could try redstone in motion. its basically frames, but made better.
  21. simple, have a single engine of anything pumping constantly to offset the loss. or just ignore it. tbh its so little it shouldn't matter. a single Biofuel engine should be more than enough and those are 100% renewable.
  22. There are a couple possible reasons. Conduits bleed some energy overtime. The reason it takes so long to be noticeable its because its too little. Iirc, cells short circuit and loose a % of their power ( take this one with a grain of salt, as it may just be the conduit bleedout) You are actually using energy from the tesseract for a low consuption machine like a furnace. I cant really think of any other reason that doesnt end up being one of the mentioned above. Edit: thought of another one. If you placed new conduits, those need to fill their buffer. That might explain small amounts missing.
  23. Ill be honest. ive never had issues with BC conductive pipes, hell i still prefer them over conduits for certain tasks.... maybe im confusing the version you guys are talking about. PS. did you made sure the pipe is set to output from the engine? the one thing i know happens is wooden pipes sometimes attach wrong and attempt to extract from the wrong block. one easy way to know from where its going to extract is to look for the wooden band that forms on the extracting side.
  24. we really need more info on whats actually happening.... what version are you running? did you modified anything? is it possible to place a screenshot of the issue? you gotta give us something we can work with.
