  1. Haha, fair enough. When my players moan, I make them submit a ticket so I quit hearing about it
  2. no. Tekkit runs with MinecraftForge, not Bukkit, therefor it does NOT support plugin (just like vanilla minecraft doesn't support plugins). You have to be running a server that is specifically coded to support plugins OR mods. In this case, you can download "MCPC+", rename it Tekkit.jar, and it will run both mods AND bukkit plugins.
  3. maybe you just need to find a different server that doesn't have players that moan all the time
  4. sure. I have a good community up and running, and we have a teamspeak, so you are welcome to join us. Info: http://www.pr-gaming.net/threads/pr-tekkit-server-info.298/ TeamSpeak: prts.info we also have an IRC that you are welcome to join and chat with us if you don't feel like logging into the server
  5. I want the latest extra utilities just because it is supposed to add the ability for ender lillies to be automated by MFR
  6. are they existing portals (I.E. both were put there by people, and not made upon enter one portal) and close together?
  7. if we are talking certus quartz, then yeah. I have a city, being worked on by multiple friends on my server, besides myself. We have laser drills, uber pickaxes and dense ore ages, quarries, etc. tens of thousands of nether quartz,,some ingots,, hundreds of thousands of some other resources. And our certus quartz still numbers in the couple thousand.
  8. Either Fusion or Fission reactors from Atomic Science, or the reactors from Big Reactors.
  9. I do believe it's been said before. The ability to pump water into the MFR steam turbine was a BUG that has been fixed, not a feature. This means there no fix beyond using steam as was intended.
  10. yeah, eventually did that and found it was ChickenChunks (notice my edit) Couldn't use anything like opis, since the server wouldn't respond to any commands.
  11. The Environment: The Physical Host: CPU: 2 x Intel Xeon E5620 2.4Ghz Chassis: 1 x SuperMicro SC811 1U Hard Drives: 1 x Western Digital 1TB RE4 FBYX SATA Motherboard: 1 x SuperMicro X8DTL-iF RAM: 5 x Actica 4GB DDR3 1333 ECC Registered The Virtual Server (Tekkit Host): OS: Ubuntu 12.04 64bit CPU: 4 Cores RAM: 8GBs Hard Drive: 45GBs Game Server: >Tekkit 1.2.8e(recommended) (with MCPC+) Other: McMyAdmin (licensed, stable) The Issue: The server hangs at startup with NO (seemingly relevant) errors, or crash logs. Logs: Server.log ForgeModLoader-server-0.log Solutions Tried: running without MCPC+ (no plugins) running without McMyAdmin removing DIM_MYS134 (last entry in log) unless I remove world/data/agedata_134.dat it recreates the world. Removing that file results in trying to load a non-existant world and severe errors (not sure how to tell it not to) changing ChickenChunk Chunk Loader to id 0 EDIT: After a LOT of troubleshooting, seems the problem was with ChickenChunks or something it was loading. Disabled the mod and the server starts.
  12. yeah, I tried that, had it all working efficiently, except it was lagging out my server (tons of Extra Utilities transfer nodes producing cobblestone, and rows and rows of cyclic assemblers
  13. loginmessage.txt? I have no clue what that is. If you are using just vanilla tekkit, try addin "&0&0&2&e&f" to the beginning of the motd in server.properties. If you are using essentials with MCPC+ (like I am), I was successful in getting it to work by making that the first like in plugins/essentials/motd.txt
  14. buffer (plasma is weird lately O.o). Steam funnels, to liquiducts, to tesseracts, to my liquid storage. From there, steam is tesseracted to turbines.
  15. Sweet, thanks! yeah, that's what I'm doing actually, running an Atomic Science fusion reactor with Big Reactor turbines
  16. i've seen Steam Dynamos and Big Reactor Turbines listed here. Does anyone have numbers to compare Thermal Expansion Steam Dynamos, Minefactory Reloaded Steam Turbines, Atomic Science Electric Turbines, and Big Reactor Turbines?
  17. yeah, we are using floodlights and redstone p2p tunnels for the street lights atm
  18. BTW, you can use NEI to dump a list of free IDs. NEI -> Options -> Tools -> Data Dumps -> Blocks/Items (set to Free) -> dump This will create a file called items.csv in <technic>(default is %appdata%.technic)tekkitmaindumps so, by default, that will be %appdata%.technictekkitmaindumpsitems.csv Then, pick any ID on the list, and you should be fine.
  19. doesn't mean it's not useful. I am actually working on building a city, and after having rows of dynamos (magmatic and compression), MFR biofuel generators, and a medium 7x7x7 yellorium reactor, we are still needing more power (setup an additional AS Fusion Reactor last night). So, we are actually using power at that scale, meaning it makes sense to allow for builds that big
  20. this is a bug as stated by a dev (asked in IRC, I have no sources to cite). If you look at the code, it is SUPPOSED to check that the liquid is steam, and apparently just doesn't do it right. I do believe it has been addressed and fixed in later builds... I just keep quiet about it for no, so my players don't know it is possible
  21. yeah, it does cost more, but from what I've read, it's the only way to autocraft the items. Anyway, just means more cursed-earth grinders
  22. So, for those of you running a tekkit server with permissions, or other things, I thought I'd make a list of the fake players I've encountered that need extra permissions, especially since mod authors don't make it apparent, and it requires extensive googling, or at one point, decompiling a mod until I got an author to list it on their website. As of Tekkit 1.2.8e: Build Craft = [BuildCraft] Thermal Expansion = [CoFH] Computer Craft = [ComputerCraft] Steve's Carts 2 = [Minecraft] I haven't found any other fake players to give permissions to at this time, but if that changes, I'll update this list
  23. I posted in another thread about this, but as said above, 'stable unstable' ingots CAN be autocrafted. I have it working just fine in my AE network. Exact recipe from the above album is here:
  24. I think the point is, there is now no difference between single-player and multiplayer. Singe-player minecraft now runs a local server that you play on by yourself, thus the whole "invite to lan" thing where others can join your single-player game. So, technically speaking, you are always playing multiplayer, just sometimes by yourself.
  25. FYI, if you press F9, and cycle through the modes, some of them have a red box around the ones being chunkloaded, at least with dimensional anchors
