  1. They are/were useful depending on wether you run recomended or latest. This is due to a bug where Gelid Cryotheum + Energized Glowstone can be used to make infinite Glowstone. Melt this in a Magma Crucible to get the liquid fuel. For the solid reactant, use Sugar, which can be easily powerfarmed with a Watering Can in an Autonomous Activator and a bunch of Terrain Smashers. Sadly the Glowstone trick is fixed in the latest version, and I think the automated Wating Can trick has been broken in later versions of Extra Utilities.
  2. Also, Mystcraft Linking Books work in Limbo, do they not?
  3. You also have the Energy Tranfer Nodes and Pipes from Extra Utilities. I did some testing a while ago, and I know they can transfer at least 50kRF/t.
  4. Right, I have done some testing: None of the Power Armor parts, including the fist, can be enchanted directly. They can, however, have enchants applied to them via anvil. It is completely useless to do so, because as soon as you equip the enchanted item, the enchant goes away.
  5. I'm pretty sure you can enchant the Modular Power Armor. I know I have done it, and that was on a multiplayer server on which I was not oped or anything like that. I used the Auto-Anvil to apply an enchanted book tho, and I'm not sure that the enchants actually worked, but they were applied to the item. Will do some testing when I get home. Unless I foreget.
  6. I thought I was going to be clever and water an Enderman with the Watering Can from Extra Utilities, thinking that as long as I don't look at him while doing so he will die from the water. Turns out Endermen are clever enough to figure out the source of the damage done to them.
  7. I've been testing some more, and there seems to be a bug with how MFR machines interact with fluiducts when they are in their passive state. The output is and order of magnitude or two too high. Tested with both opaque and transparent ducts. Machines that I've confirmed to be afflicted are the Bio Reactor, Lava Fabricator, Oil Fabricator and Sewer. I haven't tried the harvester's sludge output because I could not be arsed. EDIT: Issue is now posted in the tracker.
  8. The problem is there in 1.2.9e too. If I replicate your setup I get insane ammounts of fuel, but only when the fluiducts are set to passive. If I set the duct connected to the reactor to force extract, I get the correct 1425 mB of fuel.
  9. I am unable to replicate this. I am using the recomended version, and from 1 piece each of nine different kinds of biomass I get 1425 mB of biofuel, just like the Efficency gauge in the Bioreactor UI says. If I fill the machine completely, that is two stacks each of nine kinds of biomass, I get 182400 mB of fuel. Quite a bit closer to your number. What I did was to just plonk the bioreactor on top of a drum and let it drain into that. Did you do something different or are you using another version than the recomended one? You said you pumped the fuel out of the reactor? How did you do this? I have yet to find a way to make it drain faster than a few mB per second.
  10. The marble blocks should spawn by default. They are not super common though, and it is possible that they only spawn in certain biomes. As far as I know there's not a great deal of blocks disabled by default, but if you want to fiddle with such things you should look at the config files. They can be found in [Tekkit install folder]modpackstekkitmainconfig
  11. And if you think 'safe and friendly' means 'for casuals' there's still Atomic Science where the reactors can melt down and/or kill you with radiation.
  12. I wouldn't worry too much about that. I've only ever had them grow into normal rubber trees. I think there's a config option to allow them to grow into megatrees, but it should be disabled by default.
  13. Did you know you can get Redstone Flux out of a Buildcraft Redstone Engine if you connect it directly to an Extra Utilities Energy Transfer Node? If you surround the node with two engines on five sides, for a total of 10 engines it allows for a roaring 15RF/t of free energy! Highly reliable and extremely impractical!
  14. I think the MFR Enchantment Router might be what you're looking for.
  15. This is because the server owner has not updated his sever to the recomended version yet. They will probably do so in due time, but you could always try contacting them.
  16. You can teleport within the same dimension with mystcraft books, however you need to make the linking book with a linking panel with the Intra-dimensional modifier. This is done by adding stuff to the ink in the ink mixer. If I'm not mistaken, pulverized gold and silver have a pretty good chance to add intra-dimenisonal. Note however that it's not guaranteed to add it, and it may add other annoying shit like disarming.
  17. Pardon me if I'm missing someting vital here, but wouldn't the durability of the stone wear out long before you get the 8 diamonds required to make it in the first place? Also, I take it you are refering to the Minium Stone, or is there a way to craft the Philosopher's Stone ingame now? (Latest version maybe? I've only played recomended.)
  18. We recently set up a semi-automated ore processing facility on the server I play on, using mostly TE3 machines and ducts. However, it seems that items sometimes go missing in the pipes. Since we used opaque ducts I can't really tell what's happening, but something in the system is eating our stuff. I've looked it over to see if it has accidently been connected to some other inventory somewhere, but as far as I can tell it hasn't. I've also made sure that the finished products chest hasn't got things blacklisted on its input duct. (it's not filtered at all) Is anybody else experiencing the same problem? Is it a bug, or am I just ignorant to some of the finer points of duct management?
  19. Hey. That works. Thanks a lot!
  20. I am having problems with the Modular Power Suits. I cannot find the Custum Color Module, or the other cosmetic modules, in the Tinker Table. The config file says the modules are enabled, but I can't find them anywhere. Are they somhow disabled in an other way, or are they applied in some manner other than the tinker table?

    IC2

Nope. You misunderstood me. What im looking for is something that does not require fuel or maintainance, yet produces a constant output. The solar panels from Galacticraft kind of qualifies, but they are shit, and expensive to make.

    IC2

Only thing I find missing in Tekkit that IC2 provided is wind turbines, or some similar easy to set up low maintainance power generation system. Of course there's the fusion generators, but they are expensive to make, and unless you need to power a small country they are pretty overkill. I also have a mainainance-free generator design that runs on animal cruelty, but it's a bit of a bother to set up.
  23. Is this what you are looking for?
  24. Further testing shows that a single Energy Transfer Node will output at least 50k rf/t through a single Transfer Pipe. I could not find a way to input more than that into a single node. I don't think there's any single machine that can make use of that ammount of power. Possibly the particle accellerator?
  25. I'm pretty sure there's a setting in the vanilla server config file to disable "mob griefing", that is, the creepers' ability to destroy blocks and the endermen's ability to pick up and move blocks. I don't think there is a way to do the same in single player however. There's a command: /gamerule mobGriefing false
