I'm a environmentalist so I like animals... My favourite are turtles... Especially mining turtles You can give them a try and all you need is a stack of coal for fuel and some chests (vanilla chests). Go down to level.. lets say 11 or 12 and put one down standing in front of a wall, give the poor animal some coal and type 'tunnel 64' and hit enter. They are waterproof and lava-proof (but you aren't). They have a finite inventory, empty it regularly and put torches down. Try the Extreme Hills biome for emeralds (levels 4 to 32). You won't need to dig through 30 or 40 layers of stone and burn all the energy for quarries. With more you can do miracles but you will burn your food watching over their inventory an trying to keep up with them or.. Find some village to trade. Don't get lost. Mark your home on the minimap. Edit: You can compress cobble if inventory space is low. Edit 2: In my early game when a turtle opened a cave I've blocked the entrance with some not typical underground block, lets say.. wood and later when the turtles finished their work and I've got some armor opened those places and mine them out. Edit 3: Note that turtles reset their work when you save and exit the game (in singleplayer).

You can put a pump on top of the quarry (as you did) connect some power and tanks with fluiducts and... leave the perimeter. The whole quarry site is force loaded so anything above the quarry runs all the time you play (press F9 couple times and look at the sky) even if you're not there. You can leave it and go do something else. Don't just stand there and watch the pump nozzle come down. There's plenty other stuff to do. Do some parallel processing

Correct. Uranium (that's the same as yellorium ingots in the ore dictionary). Look out for radiation. Don't poison yourself.... Like I did. Later you can use a unifier from MFR to convert your ingots/items to another if you want only yellorite in your chests (or only uranium). Note: pulverize ores first (uranium gives yellowcake - poisonous if in your inventory!). Then smelt, you'll have a ton of uranium/yellorium. Again - don't poison yourself. Automate it with itemducts with servos not to touch yellowcake. For the fluids in the quarry pit there are 2 ways as members play tekkit: 1. Leave it out. The quarry will dig through them except oil but that's good. 2. Keep the quarry clean. Get a jetpack (maybe simply jetpacks mod), maybe some enchanted boots for the falling and go there and pump it out (pump, ender-thermic pump, tanks, drums, ender tanks, etc.) Personally I'm on 2. I go for some ladders and mine a hole in the quarry side, go down when see oil and pump it. In my advanced (mid - late game level) world I just jetpack there and also pump everything out. The main thing is I also use BC pumps. You can also do a 1 level filler with gravel to bury the fluids. Your choice. Just don't swim in sludge or sewage. That's bad for your skin.. Gonna go now. Have a skeleton visitors... Edit: Actually there's another way with quarry pit fluids but I'm a noob at Modular Force Field System so I'm not obligated to explain it.

It's nice. I like it very much. Craft some copper/iron/silver/gold chests for the quarry (in the place of the double chest) and for the base maybe. NEI is your guide. Your armor is weak... Craft some invar armor for this time. Craft some backpacks with leather for enlarging your inventory. Wait... Are you taking the fuel by hand from the refinery... Bring one more fluiduct and connect the fuel to the top of the dynamos... focus, it's tricky when you put fluiducts close to one another.. Modify the fuel tank to fill (from refinery) from above and connect dynamos from below. And the most important part: don't listen to me.. Do it as you want it. With your ideas. PS. Oh you found oil in the quarry pit... Don't look down. Don't stand on the orange frame because the shift button will not stop you from falling. It's a long way down. Edit: Oh.. you've got rubber trees to the right. Nice start to Minefactory Reloded. Edit 2: If you find some ruby / peridot / sapphire you can make really cheap tools.. Your shovel is about to break. Edit 3: Give yourself a shot... with xp extractor of course and have an empty bucket when doing this. You don't want to run in your world with this much xp. Put it in a tank and hide in the base. If you'll need it you can drink it (with a straw).

I lived in a lie for so long..

Put a chest on the quarry and connect itemduct to it.

1.Put refinery on floor. 2. Connect oil with fluiduct to the back (the wider side). 3. Connect the fuel output fluiduct to the narrower side. Insert servo to the fluiduct connection. Set it with crescent hammer to the red glowing arrow (to pump out the fuel). 4. Connect power input to the side or the top. I'll upload some photo in a few minutes. Edit: refinery needs oil input, fuel output an power provided. Not water. You will need water in the compression dynamos later with the fuel. Oil goes to the left. Fuel comes out the right. Edit 2: The photo: Behind the refinery is a full hardened energy cell set to output to top and connected to the refinery. You will burn some energy while refining but you will get many more energy with the resulting fuel.

Yes, you must use a conduit here, it's converting RF to MJ for the quarry to work. Edit: If you use Thermal Expansion with MJ based mods (like Buildcraft) you need a conduit but if you are using it with mods that 'understand' RF you can put it block to block without a conduit like an ender-thermic pump with an energy cell. As for powering the quarry: 1. Find oil. Go with buckets or a pump and store it in some Thermal Expansion tanks (they are portable - use crescent hammer). 2. Craft a refinery and some fluiducts to convert oil to fuel. 3. Build some compression dynamos and feed them with fuel and water. 4. Result - long term early game power source. Store it in energy cells. You can build this setup on the quarry. It's not the best but is great at the early game level (keep in mind chunk loading). As for the super huge amounts of cobblestone, dirt and gravel try Deep Storage Units.

Did you know that energized glowstone when encounters gelid cryotheum hardens to glowstone block? This is done on the flowing blocks on the point of contact and doesn't break the source blocks. If done on a basic diamond shaped platform with energized glowstone under it and gelid cryotheum above you can make a glowstone dust generator on the platform edges. Use some block breaking machine for the resulting blocks. Remember the liquid glowstone upward movement. Edit: Not working in the newest versions of Thermal Expansion (3.0.0.7). Consider it an exploit.

tekkit Just got the modpack. Excited to play but have no idea what to do.

Welcome aboard. Let NEI be your guide and Resonant Ender your goddess. Build all the Thermal Expansion Machines and try to find out how they work. Edit: Use the waypoints from the minimap. It's very handy. Mark your world. If you find oil mark it and return with buckets (or later with a pump) and a tank (or drum), make a refinery and start refining it for fuel. Compression dynamos with fuel and water run very long producing energy. Remember to store your energy. If you want obsidian at the start use a water bucket in a lava lake and mine it with a mining turtle. -
Redstone engines are history. Try some tutorials on Thermal Expansion 3. It's the base mod now (energy production and distribution).

Go to the tracker with this. Remember the >guidelines.

Put a buffer chest (regular vanilla chest could be enough) on top of the quarry and connect impulse itemducts for the speed and use the servos in the outputs as Curunir said. As for the 'long transport pipe from the quarry' you can use two ender chests with the same colouring (if you can afford it) - one on the quarry and the other at the base (chunk loading must be checked here). Edit: Post a screenshot and we'll tell you what you're doing wrong.
-
Yeah. I agree

Did you know you can make a 'stable' unstable ingots with 9 semi-stable nuggets without sudden explosions? Check NEI for 'semi-stable'. Now you have an open door to Builders Wand and some other tools and a clear path to the Underdark (aka Deep Dark) and the massive ore count in there. Just remember to bring plenty of torches (or floodlights with levers), preferably a jetpack and some magnum torches for the crowded herds of zombies on steroids. Edit: Don't put an ender tank/chest there! (why not?!)

For the start try the tracker for this kind of issues. This is the wrong place. Hint: disable your anti virus software.

Did you know that you can save a lot of time on travel from A to B by making and using two mystcraft linking books with intra linking? 1. Craft two linking books using linking panels with intra linking (not easy to get, maybe try an ink mixer with ender pearl or gold dust addon) and leather. 2. Activate the first resulting linking book in point A. Carry it to point B and put in a book stand. 3. Activate the second book in point B, use the A point linking book (in the stand) to teleport back. 4. Put the second linking book (activated in B ) in a book stand. Now your travel will be made by one right click and one left click to get to point B and one right click and one left click to get back to A.

Did you change the: B:ReplaceVanillaGeneration=false to true in the CoFHWorld.cfg? If yes you need to change the 'world.vanilla' section of the CoFHWorld-Generation.cfg next.

The client and server version must be exactly the same to avoid problems. You need to update/downgrade the server or the client to match versions. In your case the client needs updating. Try the cog wheel under the tekkit logo on the launcher. Remember to backup your singleplayer worlds if any exists.

Got to the tracker with this. Post crash logs there and one more obligatory thing... Follow the tracker >rules and guidelines.

Short answer: no, it doesn't. You charge it.

Did you know you can right click NEIs search box to clear it out and start typing when your old search was there?

Did you know that you can save the settings for ae import/export buses on a memory card and load into another bus? 1. Put 2 import/export buses in world. 2. Set one of them with mode, items and redstone signal. 3. Shift right click with memory card. 4. Right click with memory card on the other bus. The settings will be transferred.

Can somebody verify the use (right click) of vibration catalyst from ae on sapphire/ruby/peridot ore block? I get xp when doing this on a singleplayer world... lots and lots of xp.... without actually breaking the block. Bug or a feature? Edit: I guess it's an exploit or my java got high-wired.
