E: that's not to say it's a bad mod, Redpower is amazing. I just don't like my game freezing up every 4 minutes while a new volcano is generated, right on top of the grove of diamond trees I was tracking towards

I am being serious. I've cut redpower out of my own personal pack now, because apparently it's vitally important that I not be allowed to configure what worldgen options are there, unlike every other mod ever. And no other mod I can think of makes such obnoxious changes to the world.

Why does everything have to have a unique use? Why should I build my house out of Jungle Wood rather than Oak? Why should I use sandstone stairs when I could use wood. Difference for the sake of difference is half the game.
