Cropping the enormous white spaces out would help it as an avatar. Overall though, it's not an amazing one to use.

Red is admin, those are mostly staff members of Technic, who actually work on the launcher and modpacks. Blue is moderator, we're, by and large, recruited from the forum population, and keep the place clean, MehStrongbadMeh also gets this colour, he maintains the Voxel Modpack. Yellow/Orange is a modder, either someone who's submitted a mod in the Modding subforum, or one of the bigwig modders who are in the pack. Pink is Hellen Keller, people who dun goofed. Green is no longer used, but it was PuddingHuxtable's colour when he was maintaining the YogBox.

You could also look into mods to disable in order to eke a bit more performance out of your server, there's probably threads about it somewhere around here.

900MB really isn't a lot of RAM for a 6 person server, the best bet would likely be to get some more.

Yeah, you can use fillers to remove them I think, but I've never used fillers myself.

It's located in appdata/roaming/.techniclauncher/tekkit Delete the tekkit folder and redownload it, also check your firewall settings to make sure Technic isn't being blocked from downloading.

Luminators take up as much as they need to fill their internal storage, which is pretty massive, once it's full, they stop eating energy so badly. I suggest using Redpower lamps though.

Learning pretty much any programming language will help you in the long run. The more you know about various languages, the better general feel you'll have for coding. That being said, Visual Basic is pretty useless in any application I've seen. Never seen a job offer looking for a Visual Basic expert, so you might well want to just start off with C or something.
