  1. Glad to see its all worked out, hopefully now you have some more experience to help you make a new modpack from scratch
  2. idk what to say, it runs fine on my machine, 200-300fps without shaders and 40-50fps with SUES Ultra Shaders. Try removing fastcraft and adding optifine, I know I said previously that fastcraft was better but it might not work on macs as well, aslo link me top one of those other modpacks that you can play just fine and Ill see what they have installed. PCMR
  3. @mytoecold Turns out SUES shaders do not work on mac OS X, but there a few that do work for it such as sildurs, you will need to download which ever one you want (keep in mind these ones wont look as nice as SUES) and then delete any files located in the shaderpacks folder and replace them with the new ones downloaded from above
  4. @mytoecold this is for the current modpack, but you still should edit the configs to your likings https://www.dropbox.com/s/2803lgyyee5prog/emcraft.zip?dl=1
  5. @mytoecold Its not my pack it's yours, I would highly suggest you take the .zip for the pack and host it on yourself for download and create your own technic page for it, that way you have full control over the pack. Dropbox.com is a great free place to host the file(there is a 20gb bandwidth/day limit for free accounts, but unless a lot of people donwload the pack it will be fine)
  6. There are several problems with your pack, the minions.zip needs to have the mod extracted from it, you have a flans content pack on the mods folder and you dont even have flans, you are using an unstable beta version of ICBM, your smart moving mod is in a zip archive for some reason. You need to make sure all your mods are present, updated and compatible(it also seemed that the deconstruction table mod was crashing the game on world load)
  7. We need the "fml-server-latest.log" to help you
  8. Also if he has a version of java past a certain one, forge on minecraft 1.6.4 wont work and will crash, that could aslo be it(if you are on 1.6.4 you should try java 7 and see if that fixes it for him)
  9. @mytoecold If you are talking about the world crashing when you try to create one I had gotten an error with the grizzly bear entity from the camping mod, if you disable it in the configs it will not crash anymore, but then you wont find wild grizzlies
  10. Is he setting aside 2gb of ram to the launcher? If he isn't it could cause either very slow load times or no load at all(infinite loading screen)
  11. The modpack loaded just fine for me, world creation worked as well, but I must ask, why on earth would you create a new modpack right now and make it run 1.6.4, nearly every single mod was updated to 1.7.10, or at least a port was made and there's more mods for 1.7.10 then there are 1.6.4. I would suggest remaking the pack for 1.7.10. As for your friends crashing the only way for people to help you is if you upload their crash reports for us to look at, using something like pastebin for that
  12. Hmm, macbooks don't have dedicated GPU's on them(unless you get a really expensive one, which is a complete and utter waste of $$), so you will not be able to run the shaders smoothly. Also good luck using the mac, things never work for macs the way they should work on pc's, knowing you have a mac I can't help anymore
  13. mytoecold may have forgotten that, and on a side note you need a somewhat beefy pc to run shaders at a decent framerate(40-60fps) depending on the shaders that you use, the ones that I included in the test pack are some of the most gpu hungry ones out there, but they sure do look great
  14. @mytoecold The world crashed for you? It did for me the first time but after restarting it worked several times in a row. As for editing configs you'll want to go donwload notepad++, its about the best program to use and its free. You'll then navigate to your modpack directory(C:\Users\emily\AppData\Roaming\.technic\modpacks\(modpack name))and in the config folder you will see lots of files named after their mods, say for example we wanted to make the backpacks mod hold more items in them, we would open the backpack.cfg and we would see a file like this, configs usually will contain sections for things, such as item ids, enchantment ids, configurations for various aspects of the mods and disabling things like mods or ores from spawning. In this config you'll see at the begging that we can change the amount of items that a large back will hold in this line "I:backpackSlotsL=54" by changing the "54" to say "76" that large backpack will now hold that many items instead. It's always a good idea to go through all of the config files and read all the settings and change them to your liking as you go along. If the world still crashes it is from thecamping mod and I would suggest removing it unless its a must have
  15. @mytoecold Working pack link somewhere in my post, sorry it might be a little hard to follow, did this right before I went to bed. Shaders Mod Core doesn't work with forge past 1448, aslo note that you wanted TMI and WAWLA, but in order to run WAWLA you need WAILA, which in turn requires NEI, and NEI and TMI are incompatible, so I removed TMI. Also I recomend adding FastCraft, it helps more than optifine does, but it also doesn't help as much when shaders mod core is installed(its culling effects are turned off, where all the extra fps comes from). I have opted out of optifine for FastCraft and included a few Shaderpacks already in the pack as well a a very poorly made logo while its loading. If you want the files install this test pack found here or you can download the archive and do it manually here, it hasn't been greatly tested, I just confirmed that all the mods initialized and that creating worlds worked. Making modpacks can be tricky at times when you try to add all the mods all at once. You will have to do a vast amount of config editing to get the mods to behave how you want them to.
  16. There are plenty of useful tutorials out there for creating modpacks, the biggest things to remember is that you must include a minecraft.jar and a forge.jar in the bin folder(it will be renamed to "modpack.jar") and when you link the modpack location url it must be an automatic download, usually with a "=1" at the very end of the url for dropbox. A modpack with this little mods would be a breeze to make, 5-10 minutes to gather the mods, maybe 5 minutes to make sure they all work with each other, and another 5-10 minutes for archiving the pack and uploading it. Of course I forgot that you will need to spend a little time messing with configs, changing ids, balancing mods, generator configs and various tweaks so that its more a custom pack than a collection of default mods
  17. It does make you wonder when theres at least 6 people in this thread all posted on only APOC threads about the servers being great all within the same days, sorta fishy, and then when you read the part about him running 8 cores at 7.2GHz? That's impossible unless he disables cores and used liquid nitrogen to cool it. Ive wanted to like this APOC thing, I've seen it around for a while and have always meant to try it out, but it seems maybe I shouldn't, is it legit?
  18. Looks like the modpack is getting a reboot, major update was recently released as well as plans for a new dedicated host, if you want crazy amounts of mods with no game limiting rules check it out
  19. I will next time were both on, ill be on Monday morning and all day Tuesday
  20. Completely forgot about the mods section, thank you for pointing out some of them for me.
  21. Affinity Wars- The "all-in-one" pack IP: 64.126.118.39 Open: 69 Slots ForgeEssentials, MyTown2, MineTweaker, Loot++ 24/7 uptime with occasional downtime for maintence Only 2 Items are world banned, Everything else is fair game Don't have the pack? Download it here We are just plain looking for players who wish to explore all the mods and have a great time Rules? Haha what are those? Ohh you're serious? They will be down below Background Affinity Wars is a modpack that was created by 3 players who loved a few simple things. Mods, factions, free to use items(no donor only items) and rules that made sense. After having bad experiences on other modpacks with either too little mods, missing some important ones, pay-to-win style of servers or corrupted admins we had enough. We set out to try to create a player based modpack that was as user friendly as it could be, with as little game-play infringing rules as possible. Also, we loved things like mining lasers or Ars Magica dig and blink spells, so we only ban what it absolutely necessary. Also, the mods are chosen by the players, and removed if the players no longer want it, as such I try to make sure everybody's voice is heard, but some mods just cant be added, like better storage due to mod conflicts. Server Game-Play The Official Affinity Wars server is based off factions. The intended point it to be a semi-difficult survival with pvp and all out wars between rival factions with a focus on four main themes; Combat, Tech/Magic, Construction and Adventure. Several mods have been added to aid in combat such as Ars Magica, Flans mod, Tinkers Contruct and various other mods that add in weapons. "But I don't want to get raided like 9000 times a day", No worries, there is a total of 17 dimension to play in, including Galacticraft dimesnions, and MiddleEarth, a vastly huge dimension spanning tens of thousands of blocks, so there are plenty of places to hide. If war isn't your thing we also have various exploration mods such as BattleTowers, BetterDungeons and TwilightForest. Wars or adventuring isn't your thing? Getting picky here but that's ok too! We also have a variety of mods useful for construction and making everything nice and perdy like Chisel2, DecoCraft and extrautilities. Server has recently been rebuilt from scratch to use only forge based mods, this eliminates any long standing bugs caused by KCauldron. Mods Affinity Wars is without a doubt a big modpack, containing most major mods out there, along with lots of smaller addons that make the mods just that much better. Most mods are added per player request so long as they are a) Compatible with the other mods, and b ) They fit into one of the 4 themes of the modpack. Here are some of the major mods listed with their addons or other mods that go great with them. Ars Magica 2- A great magic mods centralizing on the creation and casting of unique spells. Applied Enegistics 2- A great tech mod addins a variety of storage and automation methods. Addons include ExtraCells and IntelligentEnergistics. Blood Magic- So much blood! A mod that specializes in the dark arts. Addons are BloodUtils and Sanguimancy. DragonAPI- Not really a mod, but its the core mod for Chromaticraft, Electricraft, Reactorcraft and Rotarycraft. EnderIO- One of the coolest single tech mods EVER. Galacticraft- No server would be complete without SPACE. Mekanism- An all around great mod to have as it can be used in conjunction with almost every other mod. Thaumcraft- What can I say, we all like hungry nodes right? Addons include ForbiddenMagic, Technomancy, ElectroMagic Tools, ThaumicEnergistics, ThaumicExploration, ThaumicHorizons and Thaumic Tinkerer. Tinkers Contruct- Wonderful mod that add in one of the coolest ways to smelt items and now adds awesome new weapons like throwing knifes. Tech!- I know this isnt a mod, but here are mods that work great with each other. ComputerCraft, Big Reactors, DraconicEvolution, IC2, ThermalExpansion, MPS and Open Modular Turrets. Witchery and Botania- Two cool magic-y mods that have so much in them I can't even. There are lots of smaller standalone mods and "helper" mods, the full list can be found here . As such you will need somewhere in the 2-3gb ram of RAM available, and java 64-bit. Using optifine you can still play on old machines as long as you make all the correct changes in the options, my recommended settings can be found here. Rules Well there aren't a whole lot of rules, generally we don't moderate language, unless it gets too out of hand, same goes for things such as "being mean". There's no rules saying you can't raid someone who was just raided, or attacking new players. The few rules we do have are as follow: 1. No cheating, exploiting, duping or using non-legit methods for obtaining items that aren't meant to happen. Including Duping materials, glitching through things or other exploits. 2. No bypassing server protections, this includes spawn protection and faction protections. This mean no using things to bypass protections, such as teleporting through walls with rods, using digging spells to get through protected land, using certain wrenches to break claimed items or griefing spawn in any way. What is allowed is explosives on claimed land, claiming over someones land to gain access or following people to their base. 3. Please be respectful to server staff and the server itself. There are a lot of mods, and lag can get out of hand very easily. Please do not purposefully spawn in crazy amounts of mobs, have excessive amounts of wires/cable/pipes that are transferring items, multiple quarries running at the same time, and the biggest thing, Please do NOT just fly around generating new chunks, please stop and wait for the current ones to finish before moving forward. 4. Banned Items. There are currently only 2 items that are banned, Compressed Cobblestone and double Compressed. They are only world banned so you can still craft and place down higher tiers like triple and quadruple. All items are fair game to be banned in the future if exploits are found with them and no items will ever be "Donor Only" because seriously, who wants to pay to play? ScreenShot Time Thank you for reading and Can't wait to play with everyone
