  1. Judging by kids of my parents friends e.t.c. I think your right on the money. X_X Worse, it's also creating a group of people who do naught but spurt the word 'entitlement' around in an attempt to look like their 'not like those kids'. It's like every annoying group comes in twins. X_X Then again, last time a kid like that got on my nerves, I just recoded one of the areas in my game so that that specific user would fight nothing but the 'Giant Indestructible Turnip'... a already can see you like that approach ;)
  2. generaly, it feels like cheating when used with anything thats biggest restriction is time(energy collectors UU matter) That or balance, depending on your free time... Mostly, people need a wya to switch it off quickly. And it can be slow, especaly if your in range of a village

    On a standard world, I general make sure that the inside of the house is /perfectly/ lit. And then ensure perfect lighting to a certian level outwards. The larger the house, the further I go (no close spawn prevention) I then tend to light more casualy a much larger area. This stops spawns next to the house and reduces others severly. With technic? Tesla, runes, indiction can all be used to upgrade to perfectly safe. As can building your house in midair and flying.

Most of the people /taking/ our 'Applied ICT' classes knew more then the teacher, and the network dudes had no clue (they obviously just managed to reserch enough to set up some pre-packaged solution and look like they know something. no actual ability required since the rest of the staff were more incpetent then the students.) This was a while back mind you.
  5. Just to make it clear, I was pointing out the OP said 'Top level', not 'the best in this mod'. IE, even if the BEST armour in the mod will take a while, there is armour on par with the 'top level' armour in the other mods (indestructable 90+ defence, near practical invunrability), which is very much on that sort of time scale (or at least is/was pre-balance changes). Thats nearly as good as quantum! More concerning is how fast you can use EE to get /other mods/ top tier armour. They're all based of linier scaling, and relative scarcity of resources so if you convert the EMC to their base materials, you could get other mods best armour probably even quicker then you could red armour! Thus my comment about 'Why are you picking gem armour as your item to mesure aganst'. Hope that clears it up!
  6. Re: Some bugs i've found in new 2.0 I can add to this iorn furnace often gives you back a cobble one, RE-Bat often give back the tin. Not sure of the cause.

  8. I've never used them, but I was under the impression that the redpower pipes can get items out of the same pipe you input the item from.
  9. Gem armour? Why look at gem armour? The red matter gear alone is easily top level, and is something that can be gotten very easy. I'm with JOP5 on this one. the problem with EE is how it interacts with other mods. It removes the need for much of them. Removes anything balanced based on scarcity, scales up a /lot/ faster and at the end leaves you more powerful then any other mod. While /it's/ well balanced in terms of needing 40000 diamonds for gem armour, the other mods arn't built with nigh infinite copper, iorn, redstone, glowstone and diamonds in mind! It also turns the game into creative mode with mega tools. The Morningstar and artifacts take you a whole level above whats possable elsewise. Overall, it's a nice addition, but be careful to be sure what kind of community you want, and take EE into serious consideration.
  10. It looks like EE is working on balance for SMP.... I've always had issues with the mod /because/ it gives easy access to diamonds. It removes the scarcity of them, and other materials, which is great for a makeshift creative where you get items in proportion to time invested (ignoring the infinate generation technics)... Even being able to do charcoal -> coal alone can really mess with IC2.
