  1. I'd have to say my favorite childhood game would have to be super metroid for the snes. It was the first game I remember finishing. Lagoon for the same system was finished soon after and is probably my second favorite. These two games have colored my expectations when it comes to gaming for as long as I can remember.
  2. link doesn't work. Apparently they don't like hot linking.
  3. If you have to ask then no. But seriously I'd go with what Jay said. It's usually better in the long run to build it yourself than buy something from dell, hp, etc.
  4. Blunderbuss equipped skellies is almost as bad as mining laser equipped skellies. One oneshots you and your friends the other tears your base apart.
  5. That would be a legitimate reason to rage quit. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
  6. Thank you so much for this. One problem though. The greaves for the gem armor are rendering on my chest instead of my legs.
  7. Mining laser skellies. That is all.
  8. As an end user I most certainly would not want to be suddenly without techic so I'm all for keeping the current pack as is and trying to gather permissions for the next edition of the pack.
  9. Wow that's pretty interesting. I tend to forget that gold is actually useful for things in tekkit lol. I was thinking of a currency based in iron where gold is the next step up in the currency followed by diamond, followed by diamond blocks, ect. Disable the dark/red matter tools and then dark/red matter are just used like large bills.
  10. Figures, I go to bed and the devs start showing up. Good morning all.
  11. I know some servers disable cobble gens for that exact reason. I know one in particular that made cobble gens produce glass instead of cobble. I had a good laugh at that. Really hate the idea of disabling the tablet because it's very useful for getting those things that are hard to find or keep stocked up on. But i guess it could really kill an economy. Especially if those hard to find things are considered valuable.
  12. Not sure how they'd get one without the p stone but even if they did they'd still have to do quite a bit of work to get anything of value out of it and that's really the point isn't it?
  13. That's kind of the point of not letting anyone have a p stone or condenser.
  14. Just a thread for discussing ways of dealing with things like currency and so forth on a server. I know most people disable ee on servers because it's devastating to the local economy but I think if you disable energy collectors and possibly condensers ee can make for some amazing trade items. Imagine actually having to make dark/red matter by hand and using it as a sort of condensed currency. Sort of like iron being a small currency similar to dollar bills with red matter being similar to thousand dollar bills. Naturally you'd want to keep the p stone out of the hands of most players so I guess you'd need some kind of setup that would allow players to exchange the necessary materials for the next step up without giving them access to potentially destructive tools.
  15. I think I'll start a currency thread in the tekkit forum so we can move this discussion there. I'll link to it. Done, here is the link: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/server-economies.22701/
  16. Well I guess it's different if you're using it at as a server currency. Otherwise I think my point stands. How did that idea come up though? I'm interested in how uu came be a curency on your server.
  17. wouldn't that be kind of a waste? UU matter isn't really used for anything other than iridium and making diamonds. By the time you can build a plant like that a few dozen diamonds should be a drop in the bucket. You could make other things but they really seem like a waste of good uu matter.
  18. If it's a Saturday for visitation with my son then that hands down. Otherwise I just like to chill by myself, maybe read a good book, watch some videos, and play some minecraft.
  19. I like the item frames and the ability of mobs to go through portals. Maybe the ghasts will finally chase me home like I know they want to do.
  20. Nearby's stupidity was what kept me watching. It was like "what's he going to derp up next?" ya know? Now he's not even playing technic any more. :(
  21. Which distro are you running by the way?
  22. Understood Torezu. Back to the topic at hand, if you're ever near Virginia/D.C. you should definitely check out the Smithsonian at least. That is one awesome museum. Also the capital building, Washington monument, Lincoln memorial, Arlington, etc. You could probably spend a few weeks there and not see everything worth seeing.
  23. I agree but as long as there is crime/corruption and guns are being made an armed citizenry is a relatively safer citizenry. There will always be people who misuse the power available to them. The best way to deal with them is to ensure everyone else has that power as well. One idiot with a gun seems like a much smaller problem when anyone within firing range can put him down if need be.
  24. I'd have to say that guns being available at all, as in existing, is a bad thing, but they are available and outlawing them or otherwise restricting them only serves to harm those who follow the law. Many criminals simply are not deterred buy strict gun control and if I were ever in a situation where my life, property, or loved ones were threatened by someone I would want to be able to protect them and a firearm greatly increases my ability to do so. In short, if someone's going to possibly be pointing a gun a me then I need to be able to point one back.
  25. I tried dwarf fortress once. Had a great time untill i realized I had no idea what I was doing.
