As stated before, the server is now on a more powerful machine. Recently, DDoS attacks (network attacks) have been a problem for us. They are currently causing us some troubles with uptime. Any planned downtime will be posted here.

Congrats to Edgenx for being selected as our newest staff member! And as for an update: We are currently adding plugins every day to enhance the server. You can expect a role playing aspect coming to the server soon!

I use XtreamServers. $6.50 per GB RAM, (approx 10 slots), and they support tekkit. Server hasn't been down since I moved to them 3/4 of a month ago. http://www.xtreamservers.com/

Hey Guys, I am currently running votifier on my server, but I have had very little success with listeners that reward players with items. I have tried a few that execute commands, but still have had very little luck. Do you guys know any that work well? I want to give my players a solar panel for voting Thanks in advance!

Hello all! I have a question for all of you server owners. This isn't a very normal question, but I was wondering how big your server's map(s) are. I was shocked to find mine at 19.2GB when I looked in Multicraft. I realize it is a big map and all, but I am looking to find a average. Thanks!

Well, choose which worlds you want. If you want the Main Overworld, and the Nether, just move "world" & "world_nether". Since they are called "world", you don't have to screw with Multicraft. Just upload the maps, and start the server. Make sure you delete the maps on the server first, and transfer the files with the server OFF. Then simply start the server, and enjoy!

TekkitHost provides FTP access, so upload your map folder to the server, and change the "WorldName" option in multicraft to the name of your map folder. If you don't know what FTP is... Google it or do something else. In order for me to explain it, this post would be a novel.

I have heard that modifyworld does not like metadata, aka for example - -modifyworld.items.craft.(x126) <-- Works, but: - -modifyworld.items.craft.(x126:6) <-- Doesn't. I personally recommend a plugin called NoItem. Search it on bukkit.org. It is much better at blocking then modifyworld.

I didn't have a single problem setting up buycraft. It was the exact same way as on a regular CraftBukkit Server. If you have any problems with it, PM me!

I have only had one hacked client ever join. I know the client, but as a server owner, I REFUSE to share with anyone. It was pretty obvious that he was hacking, when half the players are saying it in chat, and when he just joins for the first time, he is flying. You would think hackers are a bit smarter then that, no?

I gotta say. In the case of my server, the initial investment was the hardest, but after I put a ton of money in, I quickly made my money back, and I got so much back in 1 month, I paid for the server for the next 3 months in advance. And that's no hefty task, paying for a fully upgraded dedicated server 3 months in advance. I wont specify exactly, but the bill is around 300$ per month. But off of that don't just run a server, I run a community. I run a tekkit server on 18GB, a vanilla on 6GB, a hunger games server on 4GB, a few contest servers, a TeamFortress 2 Server. As Xjjon88 said above, content is king. I started slowly on a tekkit server hosted off my computer, and grew from there. Once you get your infrastructure set up, (website,forums,buycraft premium, teamspeak3, reliable staff) It is quite easy to expand and grow once you have all of that set up. Suprisingly, I run this as a hobby. Once you get it set up, it becomes low maintainence. Don't expect to make a profit of it, at least not while getting started. I took all the donations, and put them back into the server, and now it is paid for a while, and it is fully upgraded. The more you put into it, the more you get out of it. I spent a whole day fixing, rewriting, and adding pictures to my technic forums post, and the day after I did that, the server grew almost instantly! You just have to motivate them to donate. Like I said, since I put all donations back into the server, I would just ask them what they want. If they say "TeamSpeak", I would look into the price for that, and tell them " If you want TeamSpeak, we need **$ to be donated". Then they encourage each other to donate, and overall, it improves the server. Hey guys, I run XtreamCraft Tekkit, and I personally have found that from a griefing perspective, EE is easily blocked. Have you heard of GriefPrevention? The players claim their own land, and the plugin doesn't allow ANY block changes, so if you used a Destruction Catalyst on the user's plot, it won't do anything. Even if you click outside the plot, it is like a invisible wall. You combine GriefPrevention, WorldGuard, and Hawkeye (Logblock, etc.), and EE is nerfed.
