The signing thing has a different reason quoted for everyone, I did it to just add some silly text to it. But if the rule says don't do it I will obey. Others say they do it because it is a habit from email or somewhere else. As for insulting Americans, don't worry, we get it a lot. We are pretty lawsuit happy and with the rise of social media it does seem like kids are getting more and more of an ego because well... you can now accrue followers on sites, not friends or buddies but people listed as Followers, Viewers, or Subscribers. It makes them think they are their own internet star because 5,000 people watch them talk about Minecraft, ponies, and life in <small town here>. Oh yay, I got quoted. ^_^

Most starting technical classes are just how to use MS tools since they are the industry standard. occasionally you will get a class where they have you use Linux and most the people will have no idea what is going on. We should probably get back on topic though.

Re: Metropolis Blog Thinking powered obsidian pipe would do the trick if you have the resources since I believe the BuildCraft wiki said it has a cone range of 4 blocks when powered by an engine. I can PM you some ideas if you want. We could probably try and work on it together somehow (i don't know much lua but I am a CE major so wouldn't hurt to learn it in my off time.) I imagine at first it will be a simple ASCII game, then somehow find a way to implement the use of turtles. For the ASCII game I wounder how hard it would be to implement a feature using the HTTP API to get actual Keller quotes from a remote server and display them as they "Pop up". If not possible just add in the best (or is it worst) stuff from the whale box. Imagine being able to whack a Keller right after they say something like "Hai guys, 1st post!!! When is Tekkit 3 coming out? ~xxXHelenXxx". Well enough off-topic talk of Keller bashing (literally). Back to trying to find a way to make sure there will be Kellers to bash in the future.

There is always debate raging on how freedom of speech and human rights applies to the internet... it is an utter nightmare to figure out. As of now I believe a sever is considered a private institution and subject to its own rules and only certain local, national, and international rules. Also the WHOIS says the server is located near Nobby Beach in Null, QLD (which is Queensland Australia), so not only is the server not in the US but it is also in Null and therefore does not even exist. 1.1 improved chat is a plugin I believe, place in the plugin folder and BAM it should work. It is the same as installing plugins in bukkit. Mods would go in the mod folder obviously.

Delete the tekkit folder in the launcher folder inside the .techniclauncher folder. Visual aid: .techniclauncher > launcher > tekkit

THIS is the type of stuff you make sure to mention beforehand. As far as we knew you were some 14 year old who wanted to play Minecraft instead of doing classwork. Also have you cleared this with your schools tech support team, those guys don't like teachers doing stuff to the computers behind their backs. Find out if they did anything funky to the computers (all my high schools computers had frozen hard drives(no changes saved after shutdown), locked USBs, and by the end where more or less turned into thin clients). And check out MinecraftEDU like ErusPrime recommended. They plan to provide lesson plan maps, over a server control system, and have official partnered with Mojang AB to offer discounted Minecraft accounts to academic institutions.

It would be nice to try and form a few ad partnerships with some Minecraft services if you did something like that. Since that would be a good way for say a Minecraft sever hosting service to promote they offer Tekkit friendly servers or something. But not sure how much of a debate nightmare that might cause. Might want to through in a "Like these mods? Well donate to the modders who made them" with a link to whatever page would have a link to the original topics for the mods where how to donate can be found. This assumes that you have the ability to add your own adds into the ad API you would be using of course. Sucks you can't even think about offering adspace to modders or tekkit servers since I am sure that there will be so much butt hurt that the tekkit creeper will look like what he is going through would be nicer to have done to you. Lastly don't know if it would work but maybe you should try an include a "turn ads off" on the off chance that the ads somehow cause problems and/or mass butthurt to users so the launcher sub-forums is not flooded with "[Petition]Remove launcher ads, they suck! :( " post. Hopefully most people would leave it on in support of the pack.

Yeah it is a new topic started to collect the 2.0 bugs so they don't have to read all the topics here I guess. I don't think posting there is enforced like some other stickies, just recommended. Oh and you might want to remove those signatures, they are against the rules.

Figure they will just add another option to the current list, with a custom logo by Cheap Shot of course. Poking around some of the files it defiantly seems they plan to add new "Modpacks" (the general name for the options in the dropdown, even vanilla counts as a modpack) to the existing list.

It lets you detox from the Kellerium (NOOB) that is contained through the forums, it can cause: [li]A loss of faith in humanity.[/li] [li]Hemorrhaging of the eyes.[/li] [li]Dick-baggery.[/li] [li]And more.[/li] However, if properly refined, NOOB can be used to create useful members of society. (Fun Fact: When Keller'd I get utterly paranoid about making any joking post.)
