  1. Nice video, as noted a few parts could have been edited better, but overall it was a very good demake of the ending (since Minecraft's style is significantly more simple then Portal 2's style).
  2. I think it might be possible to copy their <playername>.dat file and open it has your own when you log into the server, since most viewers don't do modded items. But it has been a while since i tried that, be sure to backup all the <playername>.dat files before attempting.
  3. Also you can check if an item exist in game by opening the inventory and typing the name into the search box, the item should come up and you can even look up the recipe from their to make sure you got it right. If it is missing you likely need to backup your saves and reinstall.
  4. I almost did the same thing myself. As for a guide Teamplur said he would post one here: http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,2361.msg14412.html in about an hour from the time of the post. He asked that you note that it was highly unstable for him and end the end he decided to remove it.
  5. At some schools they disable USB access, so you are luckily you can even access it.
  6. You can get some shell script like function on windows using .bat files coded in BATCH, It relies mostly on old dos commands but will kinda give you back that terminal feeling, though quite crippled from what I understand.
  7. If you have been having a problem since Beta 1.8 with downloading the official releases you should really contact Mojang. As for where the files go... Well I will let someone else post that as I am on warning (notice the pink name and HELLEN KELLER subtext) and really don't want to get banned for saying something I shouldn't (that is if telling someone the proper way to set-up a folder with vanilla minecraft files counts is not allowed).
  8. Just checking, you are running a Tekkit server as well right. I know it is a stupid question but I have to ask.
  9. Psst, try the search from the main page of the forum.
  10. Please use the search function, this was fixed before I believe. Here is a link to the post: http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,1831.msg11943.html#msg11943
  11. As far as I know you can't do this in the launcher. So far I think the only way to run multiple installations would be to download the version, find and follow the post here on merging the modpack.jar into minecraft.jar and using something like the minecraft profile manager. There might be a way of doing some form of workaround that I can't think of but so far all I can think is that the game is made to be launched via the launcher and the launcher can only support one version of any of the 3 options.
  12. It is hard work, I only managed to get halfway to probated being a dick. It will take a infringement of the exact proper magnitude to get a probation and not a ban. I however do not wish to mess with the deep dark mystery of board punishment. Also, it is really not a good idea to look around here when you are having a bad day... just not good for your health/faith in humanity. Oh and umm, good luck with the rest of your day.
  13. Thecodemonk seems to have had success with Debian, so that might be a good bet. Ubuntu might work well too. I haven't set up a Tekkit server on Linux so I don't know the specifics. To take advantage of the 4gigs you NEED a 64-bit version but any current Linux should be able to handle the dual core processor. Debian, if I remember right, should have less fluff then Ubuntu, but might be a tad more technical.
  14. Yep, I can find stuff that makes that look PG in comparison.
  15. Reinstall java, if that doesn't work google how to set java in the path variable. If i remember right the error is the program can't find where you have java installed.
  16. Oh sorry my bad, yeah I don't think it is... haha I forgot. Haven't been playing much tekkit lately. Sorry.
  17. And if you come back from the dead as a zombie you will groan some more, not because of your stupidity, just because that is what they do. Being 20 I look back at my first two post here and groan, posting well worded fixes in a place like MC forums caught up with me and made my IQ drop when I tired to make post here.
  18. That means you will be taking a copy of the modified minecraft data files with you by the way.
  19. True but some servers don't like people cheating on them. But I guess I can help, there should be some texture pack x-rays that work in certain situations, beyond that, try and fine an x-ray mod that you just have to install into the mods folder, since hardmodding minecraft in technic/tekkit is not a good idea. I don't know exactly of any such mods nor how they work with finding the new ores the pack adds.
  20. Ahh, good. Doesn't surprise me, I think mineOS is geared toward being a cheap easy way to make a computer into a vanilla server and they don't expect you to run stuff like tekkit. Heck depending on how up to date mineOS is tekkit might not even have existed then XP.
  21. Look again. I believe it is. Edit: I was not thinking, ignore that.
  22. I don't know, no idea what minecraft classes the technic crew edited and if those mods would break them, I am positive both those mods have to be hardmodded (that is placed directly into minecraft.jar) to work since they change the code that polls if you are Joel of deadmau5 or one of the few users with capes, i know capes poll the official minecraft servers and i figure the deadmau5 ears do the same. All the modes do are change around some of the code to use a 3rd party site or override the check to make "illegal" skins work (illegal skin meaning a skin that sould not render correctly, like the ones with deadmau5 ears.)
  23. Why would you need xray on a server?
  24. The swype keyboard forces it but helps type faster. It is more a small phone screen and fat fingers error... Though maybe I will change to the other. As for those mods, capecraft adds capes and deadmau5 adds mouse ears. *squeak*
  25. Actually those were typos from my phone's touch keyboard. Still funny none the less.
