You are incorrect though, people DO have to follow our rules, otherwise we remove them from the community. Everyone has their opinions, but this 'half-hearted' community is actually coming along quite nicely. This 'decay' you talk about is places like The MCForums, or the Yogscast forums. This isn't the correct place, you didn't provide enough information, you didn't bother to proof-read your post and instead lazily just dumped it with what I assume is a video card model and a CPU type. How about this. You read this and get a feel for why its nice to provide as much information as possible in as easy of a format as possible so people can help you as easy as possible. Then, when you think you've got a handle on that, post a request for help in the correct section. Since Technic is your problem it doesn't belong in the Laucher section. Deal? Deal.

We aren't going to create a special launcher just for your (or anyone's) server, we aren't going to make an all-new-way to download a bunch of mods directly from your server, and on top of that users aren't going to want to have a separate launcher for specific servers. Nobody answered because its a ludicrous request.

This isn't a bug, nor is it a problem with the Launcher. The Launcher simply takes the information you give it and hands it over to the authentication servers on Minecraft's end. If Minecraft says the information is wrong then the information is wrong.

Make sure you are using the latest launcher. If you are running the .exe then this is automatic. If you are on a Mac make sure you have the latest as found here, version 0.5.3.8 Otherwise what you are saying is impossible. The Technic Launcher is completely separate and independent from both the vanilla launcher and its directories. The Technic Launcher only ever writes data to .techniclauncher, not .minecraft. The Launcher simply connects to minecraft.net using your account information strictly to get the Minecraft binaries and files needed to play Minecraft, nothing more. So, go to your .techniclauncher/logs folder, get the newest one (usually the one labeled with a zero) and post it on www.pastebin.com, then post the link here.

We mirror the functionality of the Minecraft vanilla launcher. If you don't have an internet connection the launcher will switch to offline mode. We don't plan on adding a button to run offline mode on directly as of right now. You can always simply kill his internet connection then log in.

Allow me to remind you that this place isn't a democracy. Allow me to also remind you that trying to point out the rules thread to the admins who write and enforce the rules is a weird sort of irony. =) =)

Listen analgum, you go to the servers, not the other way around. Nobody is going to ask you to join their server, especially with this terrible post 'advertising' you and your friend/mule. Check out the server list here (I'm such a nice guy) and see if any of them will put up with you.

Not going to happen guy. Its been stated numerous times, but we are not going to drop the launcher because a few people are having issues. We are also not going to try to maintain an installer and the launcher as well, because that's twice as much work right of the bat, and many more times that in support. We will are using the launcher from here on out, and we will not be moving back to the installer.

You can't download Minecraft from minecraft.net without a legit premimum account. I don't get why you think that unplugging your router somehow allows you do download things over the internet, but heck I don't get how dumb people can be anyway, so maybe that makes sense to you. In the end, you have committed a rule violation, got called out on it, then pointed to an old thread that was about offline mode, and use that as justification for you doing things not-bad. I shall give you 24 hours to come in here and explain yourself! Starting....now!

I should remind you that this is not a democracy, this is more like some sort of benevolent dictatorship monarchy. The part you don't get is that it doesn't matter if shit is unbalanced, because the authority falls on the server operators shoulders. If I run a server I decide what mods to be included and what doesn't get included. You also seemed to completely ignore how EE is way more overpowered than the lowly Thaumcraft. I'm guessing you have some sort of blind spot or something. I'm not sure. How about you 'rise above' and quite being a dick to people? Yeah? Think about it for a week.

Re: Industrialcraf comes with exploits that can cause severe problems in multiplayer The point people are making is that your criticisms for Thaumcraft are kind of silly in light of EE, or Industrial Craft, or heck even Forestry. If you don't like the idea of these mods then you either run your own server and turn them off, play on a server that has them off, or don't play SMP with other people. We're not aiming to 'balance' the game for people because that is up to them how THEY want to play, not us. Just because you don't want Thaumcraft doesn't mean someone else doesn't. Are we to remove Thaumcraft just because you don't like it? Why can't you just shut it off and let everyone else play with it? Net effect is they have fun like they want, and you aren't bothered. Unless I am missing something here.
