update your java and reinstall tekkit, you need java 7. Or you can install download those 2 specific mods go to your %appdata% and find your "mod" folder drag and drop them and you should be ok but you need to do it before you leave the country, because they are probably still trying to find you... and they will probably kill you....

Lol you go to the tekkit servers section... i would go to the open tekkit server section to test tho.

I need to know your OS to help you i need to know what java you're running.. if your server is up to date... is it a dedicated server? and how would you connect to the console? your whole start up log... Running a server on your computer and on a Dedicated server are 2 different things with different variables coming into play. its not the same.

dam update your java and reinstall , if your trying to run the lastest build you need to update to avoid issues.

umm did you try re-gening your tekkit configs? for the mods?

your upload speed varies on the time of day... depending on your provider, it can go to 2+mbps when theres no traffic (at noon there's high traffic) the only reason im saying this is because you are able to connect while your friends cant.. which means you can connect because your on the local network your upload is as high as your download.. especially if you try a speed connection to your friends location your upload will be lower and ping will be higher.

Whats your upload speed do a speed test... if its below 2mpbs you got a problem, i found that tekkit servers use up alot of bandwidth... so your server can be up and running but players wont be able to connect because of your slow upload speed, vanilla servers are not as needy.

you enter "op (yourname)" on your server console...

lets start by right clicking on "my computer" on your desktop and click properties.. then look for windows "X".. if you don't see a start button... then your probably using a mac cause if it were a linux you wouldnt even be able to find the browser...

thats the problem your not 1337 enough to use a cracked client... you should probably buy the game... it will solve all your problem.

umm reinstall java i would follow this guide: http://maketecheasier.com/install-java-runtime-in-ubuntu/2012/05/14, for you Ubuntu Server 12.04, you might need root access.. good luck :P

Then dont worry about setting it to SCP if its always scp... there's an option in when you create a session to change to ftp... and other protocols, like i said if you delete the mod and it works then i would go to ronnekes link next.

idk id go to the common problem stickie and try to see if theres anything there you can do... i would probably look at LWJGL binaries settings, if its a 32 Bit OS problem i dont have enough experience with it to help. sorry
