Yes, 90% of the "bugs" people report here are problems with java that have nothing to do with us. Completely people just having things wrong with their computer. As for bugs that don't exist outside the pack. Well, if you jam 20 mods that aren't built with each other in mind there will be problems. We work out as many of them as we can to make it easier for others. Any current ones probably wont get fixed because we're working on the new version (waiting on the redpower bukkit port.) No point in forcing everyone to update when the only known bugs are easy things to patch yourself. Especially with that version on its way out. As for sending people to other forums and IRC's or to the mod authors? We don't. I don't know what you base that accusation on. We go there ourselves and tell people they can come here for help and to not annoy mod authors. No one on the Technic team has ever at any point told anyone to go elsewhere for help, especially not to the mod authors. Please watch it with the accusations and condescending tone in the future. There's nothing wrong with the luncher we pack, if you don't want PB&J's don't just throw them out give them to someone who's hungry. You know we cant afford lunchables. You're really just paying for the packaging, it's just crackers and ham.

That whole skin display thing is kinda useless anyway and we plan to just scrap it in future versions of the launcher.

I've never heard of your antivirus. Try disabling it before installing technic. It may just be blocking your download because it doesn't recognize it. Pretty standard. Nice free AV's like MSE or Avast work very well and don't get in your way if that's worth anything to you.

No. All that line does is open the .jar located in your .techniclauncher folder, which is what the .exe is more or less supposed to do. You can make a shortcut to that jar file on your desktop and use that to launch until you find out why your java doesn't like the launcher. Temp fix but there's no problem with launching the jar directly as a workaround.

OP. To determine the bit count of your system you'll need a set of screwdrivers and a good work space. You'll need to take the case off everything and count how many parts have been installed to your motherboard. These are called "bits". Many only have 32, but they've managed to reduce the size of the bits and most newer systems can fit 64 on the board.

Have you tried disabling your AV before running it?

Did you or he miss the part in the common problems thread about antivirus? I've never even heard of that kaspersky or whatever, but I bet turning it off or uninstalling it and getting a better AV (MSE or Avast) would do the trick. This smells of classic overprotective AV blocking the launcher from running or downloading.
