Also protip for pros. If you run a 32 bit OS you literally cant allocate more then about a gig and a half to minecraft anyway. It's why we capped it in the options to cut down on idiots who don't understand what they are doing complaining that the game wasn't allocating as much memory as they set. I guess we can't stop them all!

I see by that screen shot that you are using 32 bit windows xp. Keep that in mind while you read the common problems thread.

Why yes, it can be just like a normal mod. Go ahead and download all the mods and install them like normal. I'm sorry to be the one to break it to you though, but if you can't learn computer enough to get this launcher working, then you might as well go piss a rock in half instead of trying to package mods manually. Make sure your Java is actually java 7. There is a problem where the java auto updater tries to downgrade you to 6 saying that it's the new version. :suicide:

By using the launcher you agree to a very very tiny TOS that says you can't sue if our behavior scars you physically or emotionally in any way.

Look up how minecraft handles memory usage and you will understand why people are mocking you. Besides the fact that there is already an option in the launcher to allocate more memory. Just a hunch that might be it. I mean hai guizeee looollllllll

We'll look into it. From what I can tell, not everyone is having the same problem. Some of you are just having simple Java issues. Make sure you are using Java 7, NOT 6. You can get 7 from the oracle website, or using the links on the main page. Java for some reason will think that 6 is the current version and try to downgrade you. Don't believe it's lies. You NEED Java 7, and it has to be the correct bit version for your system. If you're using 32 bit, you need to use the .jar instead of the exe. Hopefully that info helps while we look into possible issues (to see if they're actually issues).

You should probably check the console for possible error messages. Just a hunch.

Give more information. My guess is it might have something to do with anti-virus. Have you read everything in the common problems and solutions thread at the top of this section? If so, read the thread under it that says "BEFORE YOU POST" and use it to give more info. Going to say right now though, if you use AVG or Norton then that's your problem.

I use a mac too and I know what you're talking about. Same reason I got mine. Really though, you'd think something developed on Java (minecraft) would run a little better cross platform but NOTCH. For the record though, I'm pretty much the "Mac Tester" and I don't have this issue at all. Have you tried looking at the JAVA links on www.technicpack.net ? I believe there is some sort of link for mac users. "others" maybe.

All the signs are there. It hooks into your computer viciously and doesn't let you run anything else. Very familiar.

Google will have to help you because I won't if you're not going to read these forums rules. We brought them back from absolution to keep you safe from being banned, and you don't even accept our help.

It's not specific to AVG, but AVG is the most common problem. Some reports of Norton also doing this.

There's like three places you can download, and I have no idea why any of what you said would affect us getting dumb questions. Edit: On further thought, nothing you said really makes sense. I don't understand why it being goon run should denote poor quality, nor is what you said particularity true. The text on the main site is neither super big, nor is it all the same size. It's not really disorganized at all, it's actually quite tidy. All the download links are organized and presented to the left in a clearly labeled list while splitting the page with tables. Further information is available by clicking the links at the top bar. News updates appear on the blog section, center and right. The whole thing is laid out in completely classic and standard website format. I am not sure what you're going on about, but it seems like you're making similar fairly worthless suggestions in other places too, that either aren't important, were never a problem, or don't even make sense like this one. I mean you might as well be saying "People are ignoring the rules and stickies? Well I know you can't expect much from GOONS but this websites colour pallet is terrible. I think you could solve this issue by making the websites background blue."
