I think this has been requested before, but would be apparently very hard to implement, as EMC is just a numerical variable. Then again, IC2 and Redpower do this sort of thing, so, it can be done.

1. Check the mod list and their respective wikis. Many mod wikis have beginner tutorial guides on them. The Technic Wiki is also very useful, but may be outdated.
2. Watch Let's Plays of Tekkit/Technic. As you said, the Yogscast do one, and Direwolf20 uses a custom mod pack that contains many of Technic's mods.
3. Ask around in the forums, we can provide some expert tips and all that jazz.

I make one or two chests for each type/category of block or item, then I label them with signs. For example, dirt, sand, and gravel go in one chest, while stone and cobble go in another, etc.
Whoa, yea. It would be like all those sci-fi TV shows and such: Once you die in a game or MMORPG or something, you either die in real life or you get stuck in the game forever... o_O
