  1. Nice post. Since I had no idea on the exact procedures, this gave me a rough idea for when I can hope it'll be released. Before, I didn't know if it's something to be expected within a week or 6 months. Now I know I can start to whine about the lazy devs about two weeks from now ;D;D;D;D
  2. So there's no conflicts between them? Interestiiiing... *evil smile*
  3. What do you mean neither saves space? With quantum, you want full armor, plus ring of the arcana, plus void ring, plus klein star. With gem armor, you're good to go. Or you skip the rings and klein star, and we're back to gem armor having more abilities while quantum giving more protection. You can't both have the cake and eat it.
  4. I think you should be able to squeeze Wedge into tekkit, but otherwise I know of nothing of the sort. Wedge can make... interesting terrain, but I don't know if it affects biome size.
  5. I think the Essentials bukkit plugin can set spawn points and has teleport commands. There is always a teleport command in bukkit though, but only to other players. Earning money and getting jobs sounds like some RPG plugin, check the list on plugins.bukkit.org.
  6. Well, if you delete half the game you're going to have issues.
  7. It's bad for another reason: Loose items, from what I've understood, forces the computer to work harder = more lag. I'd say use Immibis in first hand, the second option would be via a chest.
  8. overload: I've had issues getting java to work at all with win7 64-bit, if that's what you have (actually took a reinstallation of the OS), but when java didn't work, it didn't work at all. Now, that's not to say your issue isn't with java - you might want to try to ALSO install Java7 32-bit and Java6 64-bit. Exactly what video card do you have? Minecraft has issues with some video cards. Other than that, I honestly have no idea at all, but search the minecraft forums!
  9. A little more information would be useful. Like: Is the issue stuff on the ground not getting into your inventory, or your inventory being "untouchable"? What patch are you running? Is this a clean install or have you altered anything? Is it the same in single/multiplayer? Is it the same on different worlds/servers? Do you get any error messages? If you try to explain your issues in more details as well as what you've tested we can maybe help you. And all-caps-four-exclamation-marks titles can be seen as a little rude, just saying.
  10. 1. Can he connect to you at all via hamachi? Like, see your shared files and so on? Also test pinging each other. On windows, start up a command prompt by typing "cmd" (without quotation marks) in the "run" window, then write ping and his hamachi address. 2. If he can connect, do other games work? Check if you both have the same of some other LAN-able game.
  11. Adobe_Fox: easiest way might be imgur, click the link, then drag the icon of the picture from your desktop to the imgur window and upload. Then you can copypaste the address that follows. overload: Is this the same with regular minecraft? It sounds like an odd error, you shouldn't have that bad performance with such a computer.
  12. Test it if you haven't! It's quite easy to reinstall so go ahead :)
  13. If you want, you could send me one of the laggy worlds and I can check if it lags for me too, plus if I can find out what it is. I'm no pro though.
  14. Well, that might be correct (though you still miss out on a few features such as rapid falling), but I'd still rather have three slots in the inventory (remember, if you use the rings you have to keep a klein star with you) than being even more invulnerable than I already am (especially since you, AFAIK, have to keep them in the hotbar - this could be wrong but my point stands regardless). Heck, the first things I go for is usually a chainsaw and mining drill since I dislike having both shovel+pickaxe and sword+axe. To me, inventory space is a very, very high priority. So, for me, this armor is very useful. It might not seem that way to you, but that's because we are different people. If we ignore the costs, it'll be a matter of taste. Some like the additional protection, some like the extra powers/extra inventory space. And when you've got a few EE flowers up, you _can_ ignore the costs.
  15. Turning OFF MAtmos might help you with lag. MAtmos is the sound mod that makes you hear roaring wind on top of mountains and so on. It's not overclockers I mean with timers, I mean like redstone timers. I've heard that a large number of them on short intervals can cause some lag, but I believe that's mostly an issue on servers where there might be hundreds of them (due to many players). Oh, and turn of industrialcraft sounds! Since they only occur when you've got machines and you say new maps don't lag, they might be a part of the problem. I believe in the latest patch they're off by default. Are you running 3.12?
  16. Your issue might be that your dedicating 8GB ram when you just have 4GB. You're telling the game to access memory you don't have. I don't know how much that affects things, but it could very well be major. Then in optifine, some things to consider: 1. Smooth lightning drains a lot. Turning it of may give you a few fps. 2. One good idea might be to turn the main quality setting from fancy to fast and then setting the individual settings (trees, grass, clouds and so on) to fancy. This gives me about 3 extra fps, with no decrease in quality except rubber trees have solid leaves. And it's just the rubber trees. 3. Make sure you don't have any antialiasing. Also, test turning of MAtmos with F7. I've found that it sometimes causes lag. In addition, you might look over how your machines work. I've heard that using a ton of timers and such, as well as buildcraft pipes, can cause lag.
  17. There's nothing sick with skirts. Nevertheless, while they would probably even out in a straight up match, for random everyday work, I prefer the gem armor ten times over. Keeps enemies at bay, I can fly, I can blow stuff up. Quantum just protects you, which is great in a combat - but not the only priority on your daily business. Yeah, you can have the rings, but then you have to sacrifice 3-6 inventory slots. Which is A LOT.
  18. Build on height, at least 4 or 5 tanks high - preferably about 6-8. That way, you really don't need more than 3-4 of them (and if you do, getting a redstone engine or five extra shouldn't be an issue
  19. I dislike it, because of the exponentiality of the power increase. While your income increases exponentially with BC/IC2 too, it's not at all in the same league - and you still have to do a lot of upkeep to keep everything working in IC2/BC. I also dislike it in multiplayer because it makes diamonds a little too easy to get - I think even the divining rod is too good, or at least FAR too cheap; I could see a pricing of iron+RS for the first, diamond+coal for the second and red matter+glowstone for the last. That would make it balanced in my opinion. I just think things go too fast with EE. Some things aren't big problems, like the armors and the rings/amulets because they're expensive, are powerful but not gamebreaking, and they don't rapidly increase your access to other stuff. From a thematic perspective, I dislike it because I don't get any verisimillitude with it. IC2/BC feels tech and feels good. Thaumcraft (especially the first, but the second too) feels magic and feels good. EE just feels... Mathematical. It doesn't have the alchemical/magic feel that thaumcraft has because it's so little about what I think of when I think alchemy and so much about calculations and numbers. EDIT: It should be said, I dislike _playing with it_ in servers. I'm not saying it's bad as a mod - I quite enjoyed it in single player as a way to quite smoothly (though a little too quickly) go from survival to creative.
  20. Yeah, but energy storage for two stacks of glass fibre means cost will be up to: 128/6*2=42 + 3*4=12 54 diamonds, and the result is medium voltage. For high voltage, it'd be 72 diamonds as well as a ton of other stuff. I'm not sure if efficiency just meant minimal energy loss or also cost efficiency, but due the comment on two stacks of glass fibre I assumed cost was also a matter. But seriously, I think an mfsu and like 5 charged lapotrons (total cost 15 diamonds) is MUCH more efficient and should be enough power even for a large quarry like that. And a lot easier to set up, much more compact.
  21. Well, the alternative is mfsus and lapotron crystals. But its the best cable, if thats what youre asking. It all depends on volune though, how much power you actually need. For a single quarry id rather bring an mfsu and a lapotron crystal or five but thats just me.
  22. I personally like geothermal generators A LOT. A single geothermal generator can power up two electrical engines with ease, which is quarry speed enough for me. One lava cell is 20k energy, one stack is 1.28 million EU, easy to carry. Really cheap too as soon as you've found a lava lake or three.
  23. Also note that if we were to compare someone using _just_ EE to get Gem armor and someone using _just_ IC2 to get quantum armor, the gem armor would probably be in action earlier. So yeah, they're from different mods.
  24. Also, because you don't want to fill up your inventory hotbar. I'll gladly pay a full omega for an extra slot in the inventory by endgame.
  25. I managed to use WorldEdit to do it! First time I use the brush, but it worked decently well! Not done yet, but decent enough.
