  1. I've personally had no issues with CT3 on any server, apart from it freezing for about 10sec when rearranging inventory when it's open. I imagine duping is possible, but seriously, how is that a problem in TEKKIT? With EE, the whole game is a major duping process where you can create dozens of diamonds per second after a few days play, and even if you skip collectors you've still got blaze rod maceration, and even if you skip THAT you can set up blockbreakers/cobble generators/recyclers for infinite resources (although slower). I just don't see duping as that big of a problem. Now, getting around item limitations might be a problem, though I imagine if you have plugins to keep certain items banned you might as well just get a plugin to prevent them from being placed. Not being compatible is of course a veto reason, and I imagine that's why it isn't in - I don't think it's because of the "spirit of tekkit" really, since that would've gotten rid of collector/relay setups faaar back (since they do basically the same thing but from the air)
  2. Note that ther seems to be a bug that makes some medium voltage machines blow up AT 128 eu/t rather than when you go beyond that... So currently, I'd not hook up an MFE directly to anything less than high voltage machines. What you can do is wire it up to tree mv/lv converters to get at least 96 eu/t.
  3. I see two potential problems: 1. If you use a timer for redstone pulses, what time do you have? I've found that at lower than .5 seconds it quite often bugs out and turns into a constant current. 2. Could the machine be clogged up? If an item has nowhere to go when it's out in the tubes it'll go back - and clog the machine until it can get out. Test breaking the tube in front of the machine, see if anything comes out. If something does come out, the issues are probably full chests or wrong color connections.
  4. O, and one thing with tekkit, SILVER CHESTS! Silver chests are simply fantastic. Each costs a total of eight wood, eight copper, four glass and four silver. Now, wood and glass are infinite, easily-accessed resources that don't matter. Silver you find now and then - but it's almost never used so it's really an expendable resource! Thus, copper is the only real investment - and it's still quite common, especially once you get your macerator, 8 copper is nothing. Each silver chest can contain more than a double wooden chest, and they don't stack so you can keep a bunch tiled up right next to each other for easier sorting. I love them.
  5. i normally start out similar to the OP - no matter if it's SSP, SMP, vanilla, tekkit, technic, or any other mod. One double chest for everything, then one for cobble/gravel/dirt, then separated into a few different chests including food, tools, organic non-food, non-organic items and so on. I've actually just built my first ever working sorting machine, with pneumatic tubes. Tried some year back with pipes but didn't like the result, but the tubes are wonderful.
  6. Are there villages in H/M? Haven't found any either!
  7. Oh, one more thing! To install the addon, you need to unzip (using 7zip or whatever) the texture pack file into a folder, drag the CONTENTS of the addon zip (not the whole zip) into that folder, and then zip the folder down again. Don't know if you did that but apart from that I don't know anything about how you solve it. This sounds like a completely different error, don't know what it is. You writing in large shouty letters doesn't aid either.
  8. I could see race-based mounts. With the dwarven mount having that mentioned cannon attached to it's side. KABOOM.
  9. There might very well be an easy way, but regardless, it is possible one way or another - possible through use of pneumatic tubes (i think there's one that sends out redstone when something passes - but tubes don't send if they can't send so there you have it).
  10. If it's on the server, mods/properties might not work - I've had to remove the folders from the mod subfolder of the server folder. There's also plugins that do this. You really shouldn't give donors powerful features unless everyone has them, or the server will essentially become a pay-for server. It's not fun to play survival, working hard to get that diamond pick, when someone else is just flying through the air crafting 20-chunk castles with a right-click, so no-one who doesn't have cash will play. If that's your goal, it's better to just make a commercial server. If you want to give donors something, make it something that you normally can't get (easily) but that won't really change the balance of the game. A bunch of Ruby blocks will give them endless mid-tier equipment but won't break anything - rather it'll give them something cool to show of with in their lairs. The same can be said for sponges, lapiz ore blocks or anything else that you cannot get normally but that doesn't create a "tier system" between the players.
  11. First, you need to download the texture pack: http://bdcraft.net/download-purebdcraft-texturepack-for-minecraft Then you need the mods addon for tekkit: http://bdcraft.net/forum/128x-64xtekkit-smp-21-v19 Make sure it's the same resolution (don't know if it has to be but it's better to be sure). If you have any other mods installed, check: http://bdcraft.net/patchs-for-bdcraft-texturepacks
  12. I agree with Don Serrot. The CT3 is a great help. I understand if it isn't upgraded, but can there please in that case be some in-game recipe checker? Like, the CF3 but that can't craft on itself (just show recipes and show what the stuff in your inventory will allow you to build)? Not all servers allow TMI.
  13. Found out about placement at the top right before I read this! Works like a charm now. Thanks a lot! Hooked them up to a block destroyer and a lava/water-cobbler too. Mihihi!
  14. I guess I could use a redstone timer to get it to a good pace.
  15. Thanks! Well, I could always make a few. Could they go in a loop? So the excess goes back into the recycler?
  16. Well, with high-end EE stuff energy doesn't really matter. You don't really need nuclear plants then, you can just hook up 60 or so perfectly safe geothermal generators for an output of 1200 with far more ease. Nuclear reactors matter mostly if you don't want to use EE (or at least not the collectors).
  17. I want to automate my recyclers' input (since it only has one slot). When I connected them to a transposer the items got sent to the output slot instead of the input slot. Anyone got any suggestions?
  18. So you mean that it will manage 127 EU/t but not 128? Well, that's weird. How irritating. In other words, I should have used HV cable or something so it lost enough power not to 'splode. Very well - it'll have to do with double bat boxes instead.
  19. yeah glass fiber is nice when you have a bazillion diamonds. I don't, I have about 10 and want to do some fun stuff with them. Regardless, the loss should be marginal (as in, a percentage or two) and I've got lots of power.
  20. I just upgraded from furnaces to induction furnaces and macerators to rotary ones. Since I already had an mfe unit, I figured I might as well hook them up to some medium voltage too. So I swapped cables to gold, hooked up the MFE unit... And BAM went the rotary macerator furthest away from the MFE. Maybe 30 seconds later, the other one went too. This was the setup: B GGGG FFMM The B is the MFE battery, G is gold cable, F is induction furnace and M is rotary macerator. Anyone got any idea what happened? Thanks
  21. So, I'm going to start up a steampunkish tekkit server quite soon. It's going to be my first more serious server, and if someone is interested in joining feel free to contact me. Now, the thing is that I want to limit certain technologies - while nuclear reactors, quarries and mining lasers are awesome, they're not really fit for the setting. I've found how to inactivate some things in the IC config files, like lasers and nukes, but I can't find how to inactivate solar panels, nuclear power, or anything that is buildcraft, nor anything redpower (mainly solar panels there too). Anyone got any idea? Also, on a side note, anyone knows how IC's settings for power efficiency work? Water and Wind both had 100 as their default, but standard and geothermal had 10 and 20 respectively so it doesn't seem like it's percentage... I guess I can experiment, but if anyone knows It'd be great to know that Going to increase both water and wind power a little so they're actually useful. Thanks a lot!
