honestly I never did it either, but tap typing is damn annoying to me. just saying, it's far faster to just swype complete words than tap type shortened nonsense.

google isn't really responsible for swype, but yeah it sure is awesome. makes typing on a phone WAY easier and faster. no need to resort to shortened text-speak in the interest of time now.

he didn't do anything new, I was just under the impression that the malicious code had been removed, not simply deactivated and left in the mod. it means that with any update it could easily be turned back on, either on purpose or even on accident and cause undue grief to people who are using the launcher. it would do that despite the fact that those people must have installed it manually, just like sengir claims to want. I suppose it shouldn't surprise me.

just to clear up a bit of misinformation here, it's EXTREMELY rare that anyone will get unkellered before it would wear off naturally. the circumstances would have to be extraordinary. the only real way to become unkellered after being kellered is to simply not do anything stupid until it wears off on its own.

I really doubt that. this is kinda like saying that processor power will hit its limit soon and CPU choice won't be a hassle anymore, or RAM speed will hit its limit soon and we won't have to deal with figuring out what speed of RAM we want to go for in a PC. PC gaming graphics have been steadily improving since pong, and there isn't really any signs that they are going to stop anytime soon. at best you could make the argument that the rate of improvement has slowed due to the current console generation lasting way longer than previous generations. graphics power hitting a limit though? don't hold your breath on that one, I'd say.

the general presidential election is in just a few months, the beginning of november. lots of various positions are lumped into one big election so all kinds of people are running for all kinds of federal, state, and local government offices about now. that's what up with the campaign signs. sporting events here are not as crazy as football matches across the pond. at best you'll see fat, drunken men with a lot of body paint and not a lot of clothes yelling from their seats at an american football game. as for TV, don't feel bad, there's nothing worth watching over here either. there is a lot of really nice nature type scenery around michigan though. also, be prepared for the most ridiculous weather patterns you have ever experienced. 90 and 500% humidity one day followed by 25 and snowy the next with chance of tornadoes the following day and a high of 70. pure michigan that's the joke.

I can't say I have heard of the mayor making any claims like that, at least not the current one. the previous mayor though, it wouldn't surprise me. detroit's most recent ex-mayor was involved in all kinds of underhanded dealings. there was an incident involving a party that no one could get anyone to admit to remembering at the mayor's mansion where a stripper was called to come work, then killed by what were allegedly thugs under orders form the mayor on her way home because she knew too much. that one never actually got proven in court, but the stripped was definitely dead. later he got thrown out of office because he had been using his official, paid for with tax money phone to coordinate hooking up with his secretary, as well as some other fraud and corrupt politician stuff like fixing contracts and all that. turns out, if the tax payers foot the bill it's public property and the text message logs can be acquired by the press. oops. he currently lives in texas and owes the city a few million dollars. of course there's also the handful of city council members under federal investigation for fraud involving some city contracts as well. stand up guys, all of them.

there is a method to the madness. suffice to say that if you get kellered, you deserve it.

I'm thinking you're simply hitting the limits of your hardware here. that is a hell of a lot of stuff happening all at once. I don't really think there's too terribly much you're going to be able to do about it short of simply getting a nice gaming desktop type machine.

as someone who has lived near and worked in detroit, I cannot blame you. the place is practically in ruins. on the plus side, all the drama involving the city council, who are a bunch of sassy corrupt wannabe politicians is always funny and never ending.

I'm truly sorry. on the plus side, it sounds like you managed to actually survive without being mugged, shot, or otherwise assaulted. I'm pretty sure that's a badge of honor if you pull that off in the D.

yeah, I am just going to make fun of you. I already gave you the info you should need and you are clearly missing the point of my mocking replies. perhaps you should try to fill your launcher up with something other than what you're using. have you tried filling it with peanut butter? if that doesn't work, I hear olive oil or even high grade synthetic oils work very well. really helps to fight the friction, you know? you could also try not launching the server in a sub aquatic environment, that might prevent the filling up as well.

fun fact to illustrate my point that you are going to have a hard time running a server: the server is not downloaded through the launcher, the client is. not only do you have no idea what you're doing, but you're using all the wrong terminology to insure that you don't get any effective help. fantastic plan, that. clearly, you have a launcher problem when downloading the client. perhaps heading over to the launcher bug board or even the new technic Q&A site would be a bit less of a waste of your time? no one is going to up and send you a fully downloaded tekkit install, because it's illegal. if this was all an elaborate attempt to somehow get a working tekkit install without having a real MC account, I'm going to laugh and then ban you, btw.

I suggest you use the thing to do the stuff. once you've got it made place it inside the other one and you're done. the tekkit server IS premade. if you are too computer illiterate to either extract and run it properly or explain the problem in a way that wouldn't win awards for "most vague and useless waste of space", you will have serious problems configuring it so that anyone will be able to connect to it before the heat death of the universe.

if you cannot download and extract a simple zip file, you will be unable to setup a functioning server, even for just you and your sister. have you tried, I dunno, looking in the tekkit section?

lol it wouldn't matter to me, I'm just a guy who plays on the server and happens to know why it's down in this case. I don't run it or anything.

the server (and subsequently the forum) is down for planned maintenance right now, upgrading to tekkit 3.1.1 and resetting the map. it's gonna be a few hours at least before it's back.

I want to make it perfectly clear that forestry is NOT going to be put back in the technic or tekkit pack. ever. the offending code was removed, but that does not mean it's going back in against the now obvious will of the author.

it's their texture pack and their deal. I don't know what else to tell you. if you followed the instructions it should work I would think. I would guess that you're missing something but I have no idea what that would be since I don't use that texture pack or have any idea what these instructions are. that why I suggested looking on their forums.
