it is buildcraft, and it seems to be conflicting with itself. your best bet is to simply back up your saves, delete your .techniclauncher folder, and reinstall.

so, just to be 100% clear, somewhere out there is a list of tekkit servers. this list is being built automatically by the tekkit servers themselves sending information to said list. the list does not handle non standard server ports correctly. taking a look through the list of mods included with tekkit, I don't see anything that does that. if your server is showing up on some magical outside list, it is not because the technic team put it there. go bitch at the people running the list. protip: it isn't us.

the problem jakj has with the launcher, and this is not limited to the technic launcher, is the way it stores your login info if you choose to do so combined with the fact that mods can do anything they want. your lastlogin file isn't exactly heavily encrypted and it would be trivial to include code in an otherwise legit mod to steal that file and send it to whoever you want, effectively stealing that account. it's not really a java security issue so much as a stupid way of storing important and sensitive data, put in place by notch.

it's a block ID conflict, you probably need to delete technic completely, then reinstall through the launcher.

what are you on about? are you referring to the list of servers you've joined previously that you get when you hit "multiplayer" from the main menu? because if so, you're barking up the wrong tree by complaining here.

for a more concrete answer, the launcher is open source. if you are interested in just what it's doing with your login info, you can head over to git hub and take a look. hell, you can compile it yourself from there if you are truly concerned.

if you updated the launcher, or sometimes java, that is usually where the problem starts. also, lol MALEwarebytes. sounds like some kind of edible underwear for men. (there's no E in malware)

this is why you laugh at them instead of getting mad about it. getting upset is only going to raise your blood pressure, it's not going to make the idiot start typing like a real person or even close to one. ridicule not only makes you feel better, but also has a small chance of making them try to type more like a real person, if they're capable of it. most of them aren't capable of it of course, but there's always the slim hope that they are. don't get me wrong, I'm not saying proper english isn't important. were I in your position, I would most certainly disqualify people based on their ability to communicate effectively (i.e. spell and use grammar). it's a critical job skill in almost any field. what I'm saying is, it isn't worth being angry or upset about. you're never gonna solve the problem of people being pants on head retarded, so don't bother being upset by it.

there was a time when I got up in arms about people spelling things wrong, or using improper grammar all over the place. that time has passed. I've got way more important things to worry about than whether or not some dude just used the wrong there/their/they're, too/two/to, your/you're, or whatever else. I'll still laugh at those people, but it's not worth getting bent out of shape over to me anymore.
