Hello, IGN: V00doocat . V zero zero doocat. AGE: 45 HAVE YOU EVER BEEN KICKED / BANNED FROM A SERVER AND WHY?: I have never been banned from a server. Think I was kicked from a public server once for going afk too long WHY DO YOU LIKE TEKKIT? The scope of this game is amazing. I still find out new things everyday. I really get a kick out the engineering side of things. I haven't found another game where your imagination is your only limitation. WHAT CAN YOU BRING TO THE COMMUNITY? A mature and helpful attitude to other players. Also I seem to have the patience to build with detail and scale. I get on with just about anyone and enjoy the social aspect of the game nearly as much as the creative engineering part. Thx for reading.

I doubt it is related tbh. I was just thinking out loud. Also once the land is generated there seems to be little problem, it's while the new land is being found and generated it seems to stress the server. I don't think that's just this server either. Even in single player new land generation uses up a lot of CPU. Once it's generated it just reads the info from disk from that point on.

Just in case others come here before login on.... KS7 and the op's have been hard at work tracking down problems on the map. I will leave it to them to explain what they have been up to, but just to say I have been online past few hours and it seems as if they have saved the current map. All be it with a short rollback. About 16 hours If I recall. That was enough for KS7 and the op's to get online and begin damage limitation. So early days but so far, fingers crossed,it looks like business as usual. I'm only posting this for peoples benefit as KS7 and co are still on the server hard at work.

...................................................................................................................... Well if it's the save, as we all pretty much suspected then there's not a lot left to do. Even a rollback from ages ago could still have the seed that sparks all this. I wont be popular for saying this but I have to agree about collectors. EE is an awesome mod. I love the merc eye) but people are getting whitelisted and 2 days later ( no exaggeration) are flying around, leaving snow trails and ice all over the map with zero rings etc etc etc. And then they get bored sh!tless cause theres nothing left to do. This is meant to be survival not creative. I would though hate to see any of EE go apart from MK II - III collectors. Also, and I may be a little out of line here. We are all strangers who have been thrown together. We had a pretty good community considering. But I really believe we need a little time to get to know each other a bit better before too many more new faces come in. Reason is...When the new faces arrive slowly you can see they fall in line with how the community runs and they fit in well. But when a block of new faces all arrive at once it all goes to hell and they take their leads not from the community but from each other. That's just a personal observation. I think the right thing to do is leave the thread a while longer at least so others get their chance to speak up. But what needs doing will eventually have to be done. Don't think I will be placing RP mini blocks again for a classic arch. Can't go through that again ;)

Well when I mentioned new world it was for more of a test of the hardware. But if the results show that runs fine then that leaves us with a save that as you say has stuff in it that people won't remove after being asked too such as world anchors. I would hate to see a new world. I put a hell of a lot of effort into my building, but I am a pragmatist and will accept the outcome whatever that is. OH: will it be the same seed ? Cause it was nice, and if it was same seed would like to go to same spot again Edit: if it was to happen then transfer of personal inventories and very short list of expensive replacements such as RM DM diamonds etc. would prob' be the way to go. Otherwise you could spend a fortnight replacing peoples things.

Everything was ok until about 6 hours after that time you looked around. The server began to act oddly. World ticks were screwed beyond belief and things were blowing up that shouldn't. ie: cooled combustion engines that had been running well for over 24 hours previous. (those things blow up pretty quick if they are built badly not 24 hours) I believe a reactor went up not long before this as well. Built and checked by people who know what they are doing. Then the lag came and things were not right. People began loosing connection etc. then after minecraft.net went down (roughly 12 hours ago or more) that was the death nail it seems. But as said the last time the server was working as it normally does was about 6 hours after the time you looked around. Also as Arieanna said there is someone going around with nothing to do and no imagination and dropping nukes. She made a good point about running a new world to see if server copes, that way you will know if it's map save or hardware. I would bet my money on map as very few people show any consideration as to what or how they are building and what blocks they use. Maybe a couple of tethers giving out to people when they join and disable crafting because people throw them around like confetti. I am pretty sure a lot of people don't even know how they work and just throw one down for the sake of it. Some basic education in a players responsibility to reduce lag for themselves, and by default reducing it for others may be in order. As I think many are unaware what causes lag. Setting timers at max for example when there is no need. Seeing a timer click dozens of times before the machine is ready for the timer make makes me cringe.. Anyway this gets us nowhere fixing the issue. But if it's a map problem then it will happen agin untill people take a different approach. Sadly though I think there are 2 or 3 who will never show the maturity to self restrict themselves.

At certain times, if I spam the refresh button I can make a connection to the server. Then I can log in. I normally stay in for around 2-3 minutes before I get kicked with bad connection message. Someone else loging into the server also kicks me of. But whatever situation I always get kicked of within 5 minutes. Most of the time though I can't even make a connection to the server at all. I thought a restart might sort it out but obliviously not. Not sure if any of that info will help. I appreciate the news anyway. Bad news is better than no news at all :)

Everyone has the 503 connection lost issue at the moment. It's not an issue with the launcher. Minecraft.net is down. http://help.mojang.com/

I doubt you got un white listed Cloneco. Server seems to be up, dynanap seems to be up. But I too am getting "console 503" when trying to join. The fact that dynamap shows zero players online suggests to me everyone is having the same issue. Edit: sorry never saw the last part of your message, but yes that seems to be the issue. So to recap. For everyone coming here looking for an answer. This is not an issue with the server. And it's not something KS has any power over. minecraft.net is down.

Cloneco, your going to get into bother with the moderators of this forum pretty soon. http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/board-rules-and-guidelines.3918/ Double posting is frowned upon and against forum rules, let alone triple posting. Use your Edit button to edit your post if no one has replied since you last posted. Just a friendly hint. I hold no authority here. Or anywhere for that matter. As to the server, you know as much as any of us do. We just have to be patient until we get news, because no one can answer any of these questions other than KS7 who has work and study commitments.

Automatic Obsidian Breakage
V00doocat replied to ChocolateToast's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Or just use a RP block breaker ? -
Yeah well as the town gets more shops etc we put up more street lights. that will help with anti social town centre creepers. The streetlight design in use already can just be copied as it's good to keep a theme. Happy to help with that. Maybe though we shouldn't clutter this thread too much though as it's prime purpose is applications. But yeah lets install some more streetlights in the newer areas of town. See ya in game.

wow, We really do appreciate the time and RL resources you put into this. Regarding world Anchors, I read somewhere it's possible to change the ID number so they all change to dirt blocks. Just mentioning it as it will be a lot easier than removing them all. Of course this will in effect remove them from the game, but with tethers I can't see any grounds for complaint. Thx for the awesome world to play in.

Hi, IGN: V00doocat ( V zero zero doocat ) Age: over 40, but I do my best to avoid growing up. Location: South East England UK. MC Experience: Only been playing for 7 months, but I got into modded MC very quickly. I pick things up quick, and consider myself to be reasonably well versed in the mods in The Tekkit pack. My background has so far been purely SSP but I want to take the natural progression to multiplayer. My projects like most peoples try to be creative and ingenious with the mods on offer, but at the same time I also like to try and make any project pleasing to the eye in the spirit of vanilla MC. Why do I want to play on your server ? : Apart from the usual reasons of wanting an environment that has no tolerance for griefers and a mature player base, a few things stood out in your thread for me that caught my eye. I have never played WOW, but I have in the past played Eve Online for nearly 5 years solid. While these 2 games are very different, both player bases understand what a real gaming community is all about. I don't care if I play with people who are 8 or 80. What is important to me is the people I play with have a respect for other players and their property. The fact that you started this server with friends speaks volumes to me as that's a solid foundation. Also your comments on EE were the final thing to catch my eye. Like many people I think if used badly it ruins your enjoyment and sense of achievement in the long run. I used to use EE just for Alchemical bags and covalance dust. But now, I must admit I am using some of it's items more. However, I only use EE for EE related items and certainly not just for conjuring up items and resources. All in all this server seems to tick a lot of the boxes in my search for a home. Would be great to find a home where people had a similar mindset and approach to MC as myself. PS: Sorry for long wall of text application. :)
