  1. I need help. I've looked at the guides, and followed along and I'm a bit lost. There's a coremods folder, but people are saying not to use it after MC version 1.6.4. So I'm unsure of what I'm supposed to do there. I don't know how to test and debug the mods I have chosen. If anyone could help me step by step or something? List of mods I am trying to use... When I do test this out, I take the 1.6.4 tekkit server files and directories, and then place some mods in. It works until I put in the CodeChicken related mods. I am not sure, but many of the mods don't have issues until I put those in :
  2. In-game name: Micecd Age: 19 Time spent playing modded Minecraft: since Jan 2011 Reason I want to join: I'm playing again after I took a break. Out of the servers I chose, they weren't up anymore, this one was.
  3. Make 2 MFR farms with range upgrades on planters. You should have 19x19 (14 or more blocks for height, maybe with 10) pads of dirt for the planters to place Saplings, or Rubber Saplings. You can run the farm on charcoal that it can craft automatically, and save the excess. I did this in a base on the last server I played on, and had 200k wood by day 4. That wood turned into charcoal as well because I dumped all the wood into the processing area to transform it into charcoal. I used the charcoal in Thermal Expansion steam engines, and the power grew additively for each engine block (A block is 4 engines in a plus sign shape with a conduit in the middle stacked to content.) I added to the area. All you do is add more engine blocks until you use more charcoal than you can produce, and move up the chain of resources. Step 1: You make engine blocks until you can't supply them with enough charcoal. Step 2: You process wood into charcoal until you can't supply enough wood. Step 3: Copy your setups in an efficient way (also make it look cool, and effective to walk around/fix/put together). If you do this, you know how much energy you can produce. Your next step is to store the energy. I chose to transform the energy I produced into lava using lava fabricators from MFR i think. This way, I could store the lava in Iron Tanks (Wish I could have used XyCraft). There is almost limitless storage if you just add more and more tanks, or make them bigger. If you want to output energy, all you do is make a Lava Generator Processing Block (As many as you can) to output all the lava stored into EU, or whatever unit you need. Then skim some power to your farms, and power everything else you need. Tell me when you reach the point of powering a series of recyclers and mass fabricators and produce 4x that energy as excess. Hint (You'll be mining for weeks.)
  4. :( if any lag it would be client side -.- if you can tell me the percent of extra cpu cost by all means I'd like to know.
  5. *cough* Clearlag is terrible *cough* Extra items on the ground doesn't = lag in the first place and it causes hassle when it occurs more than 5 times in one hour.
  6. DOUG PM me about the server being down, I kinda messed up with something, and I have to ask you how you can fix it, but pm me or skype : HolodoboloH
  7. Can you please re-enable CC? I'm the only one who's been using it and it hasn't caused any noticeable problems. I've got a project I'm working on and CC is a crucial part of it.
  8. IGN: Micecd Age: 19 Location: Okalhoma, USA I stock up on supplies, and make intricate bases, very extensive, and try to make traps to protect everything. Traps next to traps etc.
  9. The way I was suggesting the tubes doesn't cause those problems. Only the players who don't know what they're doing end up with that, or those who get confused with their builds.
  10. Use 2 transposers on a single chest facing opposite directions off of a chest where the items are located. Use a latch beside it with 2 seperate wires and a timer leading into it. You could also use a computer with wire on both sides, alternating the pulses. I suggest using a BC pipe relay system if you can, where the tubes lead into a chest, and a redstone iron pipe is attatched, where when an item passes through, have it signal itself to switch pipe directions. Very tricky.
  11. I can help you out. You need to make a factory using redpower? I'lll get started, but by non-ee you mean, manually obtain them correct? If you have skype, we can work on it together, and I can teach you about other mods besides EE.
  12. No, the conversion is 1:1. Check the tekkit wiki for energy links and EU generators.
  13. Looking for 1-2 people to team up with. PM me if you want to buddy up :D
  14. Here's the deal with the those who whine about EE on your server, and all others who log in to every other server that doesn't have EE; They are 12 year olds that don't know what Tekkit is. It's not a Minecraft game where all of the items are set in stone. They can't understand what a mod-pack is. Without knowing what that is, they don't understand what it means for a server to not have items in a certain set. All they know is you disabled a crapload of items, and they only know how to use those items only. When I joined modded servers back in march before tekkit, I understood what it meant to add more items to the game, and experience it. I even had a field day with EE, but this is something you can't keep the kids crying from because they don't know that the condenser belongs to a mod's item list, and it's not Tekkit anyway. It's just an alias for, "A bunch of awesome items to enhance your experience". Just ignore them, they'll find another server, but here's the thing, the top server in the open server list doesn't contain EE does it? Hell no. I do agree though, some of the items are useful. Tangent #1 When I play on my favorite servers, and I'm not using any part of EE, I am generally having fun constructing bases with computers, or factories... However, when I do use EE, I'm obsessed with getting to the next level, and I have to make alchemy bags, I have to make rings, I have to make volcanite amulets, I have to make a condenser, I have to make a collector setup that contains 122 cores (I have done that btw....twice) Do you know what it's like to make 300 diamonds a second? It's amazing for 5 minutes, then you lag, and then you get bored. Or vice versa depending on how much caffeine you ingested for the day. Tangent #2 The game is about reaching endgame items? No it's not. It's about playing with blocks. It's also about making cool things, and friends. It's also about sharing ideas etc. I play, and continue to play because it draws me in to create, and there's really no other rule but to do so, and "survive". But the synergy between EE2, and the rest of the mods in the pack is just downright rediculous, there's no synergy between any of the mods and that one, which drives me nuts. Tangent #3 To those players who do whine, Get over it and go to the next server. Ask me for a good server, because I know one that's only removed the top top top tier EE2 items, you'll be happy there for like 10 minutes....and then have to leave for your bedtime....Children.
  15. And...there's the small scale recruitment thread above me. I am a retard :3
  16. The server is fantastic. The only thing I can think of that bugs me is that alot of people log in, see there's no EE, and other things that can easily manifest into Economic disaster and rage, then log out. edit: I find it really cool when a player tries this server out after expecting so much in the beginning, and it turns out they do like it without EE. This server needs more publicity/upfront information. For those players I mentioned that rage, they will join another EE server, play it for 6 hours, and repeat for perhaps a week, because end game items are easily possible to acquire in 6 hours. After a while, they should settle down and realize that sometimes it's the challenge, and establishing of resources that's fun. Well...That and most of the players immediately ask to join someone. But then again, I can't blame them, for I am the same way. -------------------------------- I came across this server specifically looking for enabled CC, and disabled EE, and it happens to be my favorite out of my previously attended servers. Alot of the banned items are expected for most reasons, and this server's blacklist almost matches another server I used to play full time on. It's still running, but I didn't like some parts of it. The server's great though. I have a team of about 10 players :D
  17. IGN: Micecd I have been playing tekkit mods since before tekkit existed. I can make the most effective mk I-O nuclear reactor. I am a pro at making factories Which number has a larger positive value? Absolute would be -1500 but i'm going to go with 1000.
  18. IGN: Micecd Age: 18 Location (country): USA Have you read and agree to the rules: Yes Have you played Tekkit before?: Yes, I have had experience with BC,RP,IC2,EE, and CC before Tekkit existed. Have you signed up on our forums/website (not required to!)?: Not yet. I will when I really get into stuff on the server and see how the community is.
  19. use a while loop in the startup. And then when a person comes up to terminate it, make it repeat the startup file...so edit startup <- in the terminal But if you are using a monitor behind the pc, that's just funny. I'm serious. This is what you do edit enterProgram while true do while true do shell.run("enterProgram") end shell.run("startup") end Now, this is just if a person tries to terminate your computer program, and hack into it. They won't be able to local screen = peripheral.wrap("back") query = {} query.new = function() local self = {} local password = "Chinny Chin" self.ask = function() term.clear() term.setCursorPos(1,1) print("Enter Password") sleep(.5) local a = read("*") sleep(.5) if a == password then self.correct() return true else self.wrong() return false end end self.correct = function() term.clear() term.setCursorPos(1,1) print("Access Granted.") sleep(.2) end self.wrong = function() print("Access Denied") term.redirect(screen) sleep() end self.changePass = function(arg) password = arg end return self end q = query.new() function enterLoop() while true do local go = false if go == false then if q.ask() then go = true else trollLoop() enterLoop() end end while go do shell.run("program") end end --while loop end end function trollingLoop() while true do enterLoop() end enterLoop() end this should work if griefing is disallowed. They can't destroy blocks to place a disk drive and override your pc. I'm unsure about other methods like disabling the reboot function or implementing your own.
