  1. Usually, "Update Failed" means your antivirus or something blocked the download, though I'm not sure if that would apply to an older version.
  2. Yeah, I can hop onto the server if you want Sorry about that, I'm messing with code
  3. Ok, once I have a working system, I'll put it up on pastebin or something.
  4. I understand, it's just that if I knew that even a few people would greatly benefit from it, I would make it opensource regardless of the consequences, whereas if nobody wants to look at it to improve it, I won't bother.
  5. I do want to know if people think I should have my CC code running my government be opensource, though.
  6. On another note, should my CC code that will run my government be open source? I'm seriously considering this, though I'm afraid people will find exploits.
  7. Jooooiiiiinnnn Uuuussssss. No, but really, it's quite fun. Just try not to obliterate the world too much, and you'll be fine.
  8. I am a bit concerned as well.... I hope it comes out great! And that alcohol doesn't make only me spontaneously combust!
  9. Mmmmmm, Lunchers.
  10. Noooo, the combined effects of memes are weakening the power of the HCAHC, I'm not sure how much longer I can survive....
  11. Ah, another member for the Holy Crusade Against Halo Combos.
  12. Let us unite to combat the red lobster in his quest for the ultimate halo combo
  13. Not Happening
  14. C-C-C-Combo Breaker!
  15. If you don't want to talk about contacting the modders any more, I'll drop it, but please think my ideas through before dismissing them. On another note, did you/are you going to enable http?
  16. Equivalent Exchange, the mod that adds the Energy Condenser and such, is undergoing a complete rewrite, and this rewrite is included in Tekkit Lite, but the old version is still in Tekkit Classic.
  17. TL;DR of my previous rantposts: I could care less about permissions, but we should let people know we're using their mods because, even though it may lead to a little conflict in the beginning, if we do it right, it will lead to a more healthy player-modder relationship in the long run, and that will benefit all.
  18. We may care about the modders, but unless we acknowledge them, and tell them we like their mod so much, we're using it in their pack, they won't know. In fact, I think it sounds a little selfish when you use something someone's spent the majority of their free time on for no money whatsoever, and then not even let them know you're using it. We should be thanking these modders because there are nice people in the modding community, despite what the minority of big and arrogant modders might show. And again, I'm not saying we should go through the insane process of getting permission, I'm saying we should start off on the right foot, so we don't need to worry about permission. While looking through forum posts for information for the wiki, the vast majority of those I've seen so far only require that you let them know you're using the mod for it to be in a pack. We can't rely on other people to not instantly jump to bad conclusions when they find out we're using their mod without their knowledge, and assume we don't care.
  19. And if we don't tell people? What happens when someone who's a little overprotective about their mod finds out that it's being used in a pack that doesn't care about modders? This isn't a matter of having permission, I could care less if some arrogant modder thought we shouldn't use their mod. This is a matter of being kind. The whole issue of permission arose because people didn't communicate, and listen to what each other wanted, and it became this whole ragefest that I'm sure nobody misses. I'm not saying that we should cater to every modder's whim, I'm saying that we should be considerate towards the ones that haven't pissed anyone off, and at least give all modders a chance to have a good relationship with us, rather than leave them in the dark.
  20. All this is about is trust. We need to be the better person in the relationship of players and modders if we can't rely on the modders to do so. (which, in many cases, even I'll agree we can't) If we do not trust modders to respect out choice to use their mod in the pack, how can they trust us to use their mod in a way that doesn't give them a bad name? Simply letting people know that we do, in fact, care about the people that have made these amazing creations of code, will allow us to be more well-liked by modders and players alike.
  21. This is irrrelevant. You agreed to the TOS of me, when you agreed not to dispute the fact that I exist.
  22. Because You'll never try. The good side that, despite popular belief, some modders actually have.
  23. I still think we should at least try to get on the good side of the majority of modders....
  24. While everybody's waiting, why not help a bit on the wiki? There is quite a lot of information that needs to be added.
