  1. I didn't add you. Update your application with a little more information (i.e put a little more time into it), and I might reconsider.
  2. I guess I wasn't clear enough in my last post - there isn't going to be a map reset anytime soon, if I DO do it, I'll make the decision fairly quickly, and it won't be done unless we have serious problems. Also, while most of the mods are updated for 1.4 at this point, AFAIK the Tekkit team still needs to find a replacement for ForgeBukkit (i.e the back end system), so it's still gonna be a little bit until they do. From what I've read, Forge on it's own will be the likely successor, but there's not a lot of point in speculating right now. It could be a week, it could be a month.
  3. Updated the whitelist. Sorry for the delayed response, I've been REALLY busy over the last 2 days .
  4. So I saw a bunch of people in the chat log talking about some machine causing a ton of lag before the server went down, anyone know what that was about?
  5. Then it's an automatic F for not following the guidelines of the assignment. Also, I'm gonna have to call your parents.
  6. The server is back up, and now that I'm at home, I'll give you guys a little more input on my feelings/ current plan. First of all, I will not be removing EE or the condensers anytime soon, and the same goes to the collectors/ relays. I MAY eventually decide to do away with MkII/ MkIII varieties, but it's mainly based on how well people can control themselves. That being said, TrypHazard brought up a good point about the economic implications of EE, and it's definitely something that has been on my mind for a while. I have no problem in saying that it's a little imbalanced (I don't want to say unfair, because that implies that using EE is unfair) for someone using collectors to be trying to sell materials alongside someone that isn't. I have been toying around with ideas in my head such as not allowing players to sell condensed items to other players, but I am still looking for solutions. On a related note, I DO very much like that the EMC system gives you a fairly accurate guide to base item pricing on. As far as starting a new world goes, I feel the same way about doing it quickly rather than dragging it out for weeks. I can tell you that I still consider it a last resort, and there are only 2 conditions that I will do it under - #1, if the lag issues get bad enough that they can't be fixed by simply removing old machines/etc, and #2, if people get bored enough with the current world that a majority of players want to start over fresh. We actually did get a lot of improvement after going through and fixing issues the other week, although there have been issues over the last 2 days with lag that I haven't been able to fix yet. I also want to make a quick note here - when I talk about lag, 99% of the time I'm talking about server lag, adn that's the type of lag I'm concerned with. Graphical lag and connection lag are both things that are fairly out of my control, but both are also things that we haven't seemed to have issues with. I also want to make a note that if I DO ever start a new world, I will probably let the OPs know a day or so in advance so that they can help me setup some basic buildings/ etc on a new one. In addition, I will definitely hang on to copies of the old world in case we decide to go back (AND so that you can take a little comfort in knowing that your creations haven't actually been deleted).
  7. I'll try to get the server up as soon as I get home. As far as EE goes, I'm still of the opinion I was before - I'll leave most of the stuff unbanned, but I'm going to be carefully monitoring it. Fingers is a good example of why I don't plan on removing g it - there are players that can control themselves with it, and I would rather get rid of the players that have no self control than get rid of it in it's entirety. On a related note, the overall problem with EE isn't that it's imbalanced - on it's own, it really is a pretty well balanced mod. The problem is that the weighting it gives to certain items is incredibly low compared to most other mods. For example, InustrialCraft, BuildCraft, and RedPower all treat diamonds as precious, rare materials, while they are the equivalent of pocket change in EE. When you combine the mods, the resources you need for the other mods become trivial to obtain, since the resource weighting in EE is so much different. Also, the idea of a new world map did pop into my head again the other day. My main concern is that there are now 15 or so people who are on on a daily basis, and I want to make sure that the majority are OK with it. I can always keep the old world files if people end up not being OK with a new world. People have put a lot of work into their creations, but it definitely would be nice to start fresh with no issues.
  8. Just added you. Write me a 3000 word essay on why you think you should be unbanned, and I'll think about it. Also, you must use the word "indubitably" at least 4 times in proper context.
  9. I'm putting an immediate ban on mining with Destruction Catalysts. I'm sick of having to regenerate giant underground areas that people have mined out. If you want to put the game on easy mode, feel free to use collectors, but don't run around clearing out massive underground caverns that I have to go and fill in.
  10. Just wanted to give everyone on the server a heads up that I'm going to be out of town between the 15th and the 18th, so I may give one of the OPs access to LogMeIn on it so that they can perform restarts if any issues arise while I'm gone.
  11. I might have missed it, I'll take a look when I get home. I'll also get the server back up, it may have been partially my fault that it went down (I was doing some massive clean up early this morning). Edit: I should be home just after 9 PM EST.
  12. That's exactly why I haven't outright banned it. Instead, I'm just banning the people that can't control themselves and decide to start running around handing out stacks of EE because they don't have anything better to do. The people who have been banned are the ones who CLEARLY can't think creatively and have instead decided to try to entertain themselves in ways that cause trouble.
  13. I was hoping you'd ask! Dicking around in my power plant. If there's a password protected door, you PROBABLY shouldn't be in there. Putting RM crap in the spawn chest. I know, playing the game legitimately is hard, but just because you can't handle it doesn't mean that you have to ruin it for the people that can. Getting pissed at admins after we removed stuff that you had built that was lagging the crap out of the server AND had gone through other players' stuff. Come on, the rules aren't THAT hard to follow. Breaking rules even AFTER I decided to be nice and not keep you banned after the first time. I mean seriously, you even KNEW that you were already on the s**t list... Causing trouble with other players. Thanks for reminding me, I almost forgot about that one! And my personal favorite... 6. Because I just don't like 15 year old kids who whine about everything and can't play a game without using the in game equivalent (hah, see what I did there?) of cheat codes. Have a nice day .
  14. I just cleaned out the whitelist to remove a bunch of people that have never logged on or who have only logged on once. I also added one or two new names. If you were removed and would like to be readded, please post a reply or send me a PM. If your name is B1uedog though, don't bother messaging me. You're not getting back on.
  15. I think an actual 30 year old probably would have given up before the emotional rant and begging XD. Also, QU-QU-QU-QUAD POST. I'm gonna be sad when he finally gives up/ gets himself banned for something, this is actually pretty entertaining. Followed by 2 more posts. I got a pretty good laugh IRL from that.
  16. tl;dr, couldn't stop laughing long enough to finish reading. You got removed from a whitelist, I hardly think an emotional ramble is the appropriate response, particularly from a "30" year old man. And as a final note... Ok, Batman.
  17. I only work until 5 today, so I'll be home in ~2 hours to check it out. I haven't seen it yet, so I don't know what it was. I know Arachnid just built that Enderman farm in the end last night, but it shouldn't have been loading if no one was there. Regardless, I'll take a look when I get home.
  18. I lol'd SO hard when I read that. I'd love to see that used as an excuse for other things, like "I don't kill people anymore, I just did it when I was young because I thought I could give it a try".
  19. If you can explain THIS to me and can explain why a 30 year old "soft wear" engineer can't spell 'software', then I'd be happy to re-whitelist you.
