Since we've apparently been having issues with it again, I want to remind everyone that if you start handing out expensive items (i.e quarries, collectors, condensors, RM) to new players, you WILL be banned.

Yeah, it's the same idea as Ventrilo. This is actually my first time using it, but it seems like it's a little more popular than vent in the Minecraft/ Tekkit community.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I finally got around to setting up a Mumble server for everyone. The IP/etc is listed on the main post on the first page of the thread.

As I mentioned a while ago, we won't be making any major changes until there's an update for Tekkit Classic as well. I would rather not switch over only to discover that we'll have to switch again soon afterwards. I'd also like to see how Tekkit Lite pans out a little as well, because it seems as though they're still tinkering with what mods are in it.

The server may be down for a little while, the power just went out in my neighborhood for no apparent reason and the backup battery ran out.

I do wish people would use common sense to conclude that if there isn't anything saying that certain mods are disabled, then they probably aren't disabled.

All of the permissions should be fixed now (i.e new players should be able to use all of the basic commands, such as /home and /warp). I think I also managed to get all of the older players promoted to their proper ranks, but if you notice that I forgot you, feel free to let me, Garrett, or Tub know so that we can promote you to the proper rank.

Since I haven't really asked yet, does anyone have feedback as far as the server upgrade goes? It seemed like things were a lot smoother to me (tick rate, chunk loading, etc) and it definitely looked like the CPU usage is lower (or at least there's more headroom now), but some feedback from you guys would be very much appreciated. Apologies for the double post, my phone is being goofy right now and won't let me edit my previous one.

Np, I forgot that you were one of the people that was working on them. I took some more a while back and uploaded them, I can take some more if need. Let me know if you want anything specific, too.

FYI, I'm still looking for someone to help with making banners and header images for the main post. I might just give it a whack myself, but I'm pretty untalented from an artistic standpoint .

Yeah, I crashed it while using WorldEdit on something (I guess the new rig still doesn't like me changing 1 million blocks at the same time ). It's back up though.

The server is finally up on the new rig, I'll be setting up some stuff so I won't be on until later, but everything should be good to go for now. Also, if anyone is interested, I've been thinking about running either a FTB or Vanilla server alongside the Tekkit one on the new rig. Let me know if there's interest in it, and I'll start looking into it if there is.

I'm bringing the server down for a little bit to do some final maintainance before the switch to the new rig. I didn't finish last night due to unforseen circumstances (i.e me falling asleep while waiting for Windows to install...), so I'll be finishing everything up this afternoon. My goal is to have the server up and running by 7 PM EST, although it will most likely be done sooner than that.

G.Skill is awesome. Their warranties are great, their products are well priced, and they are reliable. I've had good experiences with OCZ and ASRock before too (currently running two OCZ SSD's in my current rig), and the new AMD APU's speak for themselves.

Sorry about the delay in responding over the last day or so, I had some personal stuff going on yesterday. Anyway, the server will be down for around an hour or so later tonight, most likely around 1AM EST. This should explain why:

So the downtime is definitely gonna be sometime on Wednesday, I was hoping that FedEx might actually get the parts to me a day earlier than the scheduled delivery date . If anyone has any preference as to whether I do it earlier in the day or later, let me know by Wednesday morning. I can either do it sometime around 2 when I get home from class, or at around midnight when I'm home from work and done raiding.

Just as an FYI to anyone I haven't mentioned it to yet, the new server parts are on their way, so there will be a little downtime (should be less than 1 hour) on Tuesday or Wednesday while I transfer the server files over.

So last night I had a pretty awesome idea for a new project, but I'm probably gonna need some help with it. I can't really reveal what it is on the forums, but I'll be on the server around 10:30 EST tonight to talk about it.

Well, here's the issue - I know that a few of the mods have had significant changes, and I know of at least one (RedPower) that has essentially been rewritten, so that will more likely than not affect what I can copy and paste. I honestly can't tell you with 100% certainty what I'll be able to import, but I'll do my best to make sure that I can save what I can. And to expand on my previous post... This is how NOT to apply. Coming onto Dynmap shouting "worst server ever" and "i am fucking mad they rejected my apply" IS how to let us know we made the right decision though.

Oh, just as a heads up, if you get butthurt about not being whitelisted and start raging in chat through Dynmap, we're just gonna laugh at you and take pride in knowing that we made the right decision to not whitelist you. Cheers On an unrelated note, we'll be sticking with Tekkit Classic for the foreseeable future. More likely than not, we'll have to start a new map when Tekkit Classic is eventually updated to 1.4.6, but that (probably, it depends on the mod team) won't be for a while.

Now that Tekkit Lite is out, we need to make a decision as to whether to stick with the current of Tekkit ("Tekkit Classic"), or to transition over to Tekkit Lite. Personally, I feel as though Tekkit as a whole is heading in that direction given the demise of CraftBukkit, but I want to make sure the majority of the players are on board with that before we take the dive. I'm going to be testing out our current world with Tekkit Lite on my main rig today to see if everything works ok, so I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Since we've had a few issues over the last few days, I want to make a few things very clear to current and new players: #1 - If you steal from other players, you WILL be banned. Saying "it didn't look like they needed it" just shows blatant disregard for other players' property. #2 - You will NOT be getting whitelisted if your application is one run on sentence or two short, choppy sentences. I don't know why that's so hard for people to understand. #3 - If you immediately join and start begging for items, don't expect to be on the whitelist for too long.
