Jay? Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 If you're going to go for SMT, a couple other noteworthy games in the franchise are Digital Devil Saga's 1 and 2, and Persona 3. Quote
Pulse95 Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 StarFarer-Space Sandbox with tonnes of community made mods-$10(alpha)(singleplayer as of right now) DayZ-Zombie RPG Hardcore realism-It was on sale for $20 it maybe around $30 now. DayZ is free but the game it runs on, ArmA II, is not. Take note that DayZ is a mod for ArmA II.(Multiplayer) Dwarf Fortress-Is a low graphic RTS like sandbox that is more about quality than graphics-free(SinglePlayer) Terraria-Some say it is a 2D sandbox version of Minecraft which focuses on combat and adventure rather than sandbox and building.(Multiplayer)($10) Heroes in the Sky-A WWII plane game which has a role playing aspect in which you play through the WWII Missions as either the Allies or the Axis.(Multiplayer)(Free with the option to pay for additional features) Quote
RadioHasNoFuture Posted July 2, 2012 Author Posted July 2, 2012 they all look fun. ive played RPG games like FF quite a lot. mostly on my DS thoug. Quote
Jay? Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Most of the SMT games are great. Stay away from the "raidou kusunoha vs" games though, they were slow and clunky. Also, be prepared for a much more difficult experience than final fantasy has ever given you. SMT is kind of like Final Fantasy, merged with pokemon, on meth and steroids at the same time. Do not play your first playthrough on hard mode, you will be eaten. Quote
Ragnar Homsar Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Persona 3. If you like having your grinding ability arbitrarily limited then yeah, grab Persona 3. Go get FES or Portable though, the original is just weak compared to them. I'd recommend Persona 4 over Persona 3, personally. If you have a PSVita then Persona 4 Golden's coming out sometime in the near future. Quote
Jay? Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I actually did like having my grinding ability limited. It always weirds me out when people in games are faced with some kind of prophecy, or enemy plan or something that should be progressing, but it only progresses as long you're pursuing it. I could never get into persona 4 though. Quote
Xylord Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Erm... Minecraft Technic Pack Seriously, what about Ys : Origins? It's a great old-school game, you can get it on Steam which is great too. It's an horror game, and there isn't one the list but it's still a great experience, so let me recommend you Amnesia, on steam. Very atmospheric, and scary too. In terms of an RTS, I'd say you haven't truly known this genre of game if you haven't played Starcraft I or II, both a great. Like Pulse, I can't tell you enough to go ahead and get Terraria, it's the second game I have the most hours on, (after Minecraft ), and I had some of the best moments of my gaming career on it's multiplayer. If you like TES, I think you'd be highly interested by DarkSouls, one of the RPG of the year in my opinion. That's it for my recommandations's for now, the other would probably be games you couldn't get out of Ebay anyway. And anyway, is there still anyone on the Age of Mythology servers? Last time I checked, it was deader than Skeletron. It's really a great game, love Atlantis. Quote
RadioHasNoFuture Posted July 3, 2012 Author Posted July 3, 2012 Amnesia try scp containment breach if you like such games. Quote
Xylord Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 try scp containment breach if you like such games. Oh tried it, and it had good feels. But I dunno, it doesn't have quite enough content to my tastes. And not having a goal, just going around randomly isn't enough to keep me interested. Maybe if the dev updates it further I could take a better look at it. Quote

Xylord Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Titans kind of ruined the game for me. D: Why, they're epic. They take ages to spawn, and if you're on a marine map, they're absolutely useless. I don't find them over-powered. My favorite was the Egyptian one, Ra's avatar. Quote

Moderators Munaus Posted October 22, 2014 Moderators Posted October 22, 2014 M&B Warband. if you already played the single vanilla then you can try your hand at multiplayer, where there is plenty of action and everyone is better than you (atleast they keep beating my ass!). if you're tired of vanilla you can download this mod http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=126952.0 it's an incredible mod with heart and soul worked into it. it is the sole reason I still play Warband and has consumed 1000+ hours of my life Quote
