Technic Launcher won't download on my macs

I have literally tried everything. every time i download it, and drag the ZIP onto my desktop it stays as the zipper instead of the coffee cup. I have used an unzipper many times but it just duplicates the zip over and over. Even if i just double click it, it continues to duplicate. Also, when the unzipper finally unzipped the file it just gave me a folder named "Technic Launcher" with a bunch of other folder inside of it. Please help!

The download currently at http://technicpack.net/download is not a zip, and hasn't been for some time.

really? so why does it download on my mac as a zip. I've tried so many times. I can't get it to work

I don't know.  One possibility is that you're downloading the jar but don't have java installed, so OSX sees the jar as a zip.

I am a mac user and at first I had this problem, but i found the solution. All you have to do is download the linux version of installer. It should work fine.
