Colored Names

So, I'm new here and am have something that I was really curious about and couldn't really find a thread about so I hope someone has an answer;

What are the colored names for? I see people with Purple names, Blue names, Yellow names and Red names. I know Blue and Red are Admin and Mod, but what are the other colors for, and how do you earn them? Are there other colors besides those that are obtainable?

Yellow names are coders, I believe. The purple names are for the people who have been Keller'd for breaking rules. They also get a matching "Stupid Newbie" profile image.

i've honestly never understood them all myself since it doesn't say anything different for the peoples profiles. Basically in my book, there's us normal folks and then there's them special colored folk with all the powers :)

If you consider rule breaking a power then I would agree.

Red = tekkit/technic dev

Blue = forum moderator

Orange = modder/coder

Black = normal user

Purple = User on probation for breaking rules and making fools of themselves.

Banned is normally light gray with the kitty jail logo.

Red is admin, those are mostly staff members of Technic, who actually work on the launcher and modpacks.

Blue is moderator, we're, by and large, recruited from the forum population, and keep the place clean, MehStrongbadMeh also gets this colour, he maintains the Voxel Modpack.

Yellow/Orange is a modder, either someone who's submitted a mod in the Modding subforum, or one of the bigwig modders who are in the pack.

Pink is Hellen Keller, people who dun goofed.

Green is no longer used, but it was PuddingHuxtable's colour when he was maintaining the YogBox.
