There already is a big arsenal of destructive modules: Missiles (normal, heat seeking and target chasing), Lasers, and Explosive modules that detonate on impact. Salvage: salvage the ships of your fallen enemies to gain credits. Physics: fully integrated modern physics engine for real box-on-box collisions. Techpriest Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Wait, I'm confused. This is Minecraft in space? Seems legit. Unehydrodyday 1 Quote
dwwojcik Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 I love this game. I didn't know you could pay for it but even in its current state it's worth 3 bucks. I would prefer that the devs (at least for now) followed minecraft's gui more closely, the current one doesn't really suit the low def textures of the rest of the game. Are there any public servers or anything? Generally I prefer to play alone but even Space Pirates are scarce.... Quote
Milk Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Okay, well, it may have been a massive bump, but with the Yogscasts' videos on it it's probably worth reviving this thread. And yes, there are public servers. I'd advise joining a private one though, there's almost nothing in the way of prop protection. (Meaning people can get in your ship and delete every piece of it) Here's linky: http://star-made.org/forums/servers Quote
dwwojcik Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Oh. Huh. Just realized how much time was between the first post and the one before mine. Anyway, yeah, went on a public server. First I logged out in my ship and it was deleted, (a common problem) and then the map reset, I started building a ship, and some guy came over and blew it up. I had the idea that maybe any bullets/lasers/missiles should be deleted if they move within a certain radius of the spawn shop or any players/ships nearby. That might help. Quote
theprolo Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I've been checking this one out with my friends, and it really is pretty fun. I kinda thought it would just be a Minecraft clone at first, but it does add plenty of unique features and works nicely (assuming you don't put everything too close to your core - that can send you a long way away...) AprilElyse Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 wait it's not minecraft , it looks like Minecraft tho. Quote

dwwojcik Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Umm yes. Very observant. It has blocks, just like Minecraft, but it's a whole new game. Quote
theprolo Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Starmade revelations: 1.Every time I make a new ship, I think "holy crap, this thing is massive!", then about 30 minutes later start work on one 10N times bigger. I'm currently working on a model of the Destiny from SGU. 2.The moment you realise nobody cares if you eat space stations is the moment you become powerful 3.Damn, those ice crystals are pretty 4.Missiles make pretty fireworks 5.That galaxy map is confusing .-. dwwojcik Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 WARNING: Don't log out in your ship. It probably won't be there when you come back. BUGZZZZ! Quote
cmwatford Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Just found out about this game a few days ago. It's awesome. I can't wait to see how it develops. Anyone found any decent servers yet? Quote
dwwojcik Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Just found out about this game a few days ago. It's awesome. I can't wait to see how it develops. Anyone found any decent servers yet? At this point there is no such thing as a decent server unless it is a private one because, for example, there are no mechanics preventing a total stranger from walking up to your ship and taking parts off of it. StarMade = greifer heaven. :P Quote
cmwatford Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Yeah. It's way too easy to just grab an empty ship and make off with it. I've done that a couple of times when in need. Quote
Nawshad007 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 It is looking good. Good news is space game is returning and becoming popular again. When I search in the kickstarter I saw many space games project are running. Star Quest 2 and many more are on the way. You can also check the update. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1760753044/star-quest-2-united-galaxies-space-sim-rts-racing Quote
dwwojcik Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Yeah, but what does that other game have to do with StarMade? Quote
NuclearWizard Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 For some reason it reminds me of Notch's game 0x10c Quote
dwwojcik Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I haven't been keeping track of StarMade, other than noticing it came out on Steam. I decided to watch the trailer, and... holy crap. It's come a long way. Quote
