fusofus (Speed Hacking)

mrbananakiller56 (Fly hacking)

captain_sailer (Used the Boat glitch into person's base.)

justlaperriere (Tank Cart Duping)

You'll probably get flamed by moderators for potential slander, but what the hell. Here's mine:

geirhardr (caught speeding without quantum panties)

jojoblackops (hardcore griefer and rule twister)

REALMS_MASTER (alt acct of blackfang99 below)

chaffmeister44 (speedhacked long distances to crash the server)

chikkenslayer12 (PvP aura hacks, confirmed using Factions pvp messages)

blackfang99 (confessed to using Nodus)

I have more but sadly I don't have the exact ban reasons and I don't want to flag anyone inappropriately.

The moderators should not allow you to post IP's...

You are aware that (most) IP addresses are dynamic? So it doesn't really matter, since those IP addresses will very likely not belong to those people by this time next month.

Even so, posting private info is too douchetastic to be acceptable.

all i can say as a server owner for tekkit and Ts3 and some forums ect good on you mate for posting this i would rather someone speak up then not say anything at all.

the people on those banned list most likely deserved it i have not seen many servers to ban people for no reason although some cases it can happen.

Why should we waste our time and money and hardware on Tools who grief and break rules and attack servers, i wonder if any of those people are kind enough to host anything for anyone and make it public domain i seriously doubt that.

take a look at youtube its full of griefers ect. they also get banned.

Yes many people have Dynamic IP, but there is away to ban there MAC address of there modem that fixes them everytime. (unless they buy a new modem).

You can't ban MAC addresses. A MAC address is an unique hardware identifier for a device and it is abstracted to the internet. This guy explains it better: clickity

In-case you didn't want to click the link... (shame on you) here is a brief explanation of MAC:

MAC address are a unique identifier encoded onto every single network connection device aka NIC or Network Interface Card. Your MAC is private to your network, IE: It is only used by your local network router/switch to determine which packets belong to which machine on the network. No MAC is presented to any device beyond your Network Gateway (in most cases your Router) If we used MAC addressing over the internet there would be no need for IPv4 or potentially IPv6 (Although the IPv6 addressing scheme does have a lot more usable address spaces which will be required in the "near future" to properly address every device connected to the internet.

In any case... The best we can really do is ban their minecraft user name and hope that they either run out of money to continue buying accounts or run out of patience to searched for a hacked account. Untill the entire world embraces IPv6 (like it should have done nearly a decade ago) 99% of these people will be using dynamic IP's.

i did and read the wiki and the link but i only herd about it been done on a Freelancer server ( another game ) i guess they where bs about banning with mac address, but thanks for the extra info about networking.

This is why i love I.T there is always something new to learn about.

Even so, posting private info is too douchetastic to be acceptable.

This is a controversal topic in today internet culture.

My problem is that hiding IP only shield criminal from using it to continue attacking computers.

Third Party developement platform that used Second Life, a viritual reality software platform vs People, argued for the usage of monitoring IP to protect "lands" paid and own by owner in Second Life to protect themselves from griefers and hackers. The court however still find in favor of the people and order the removal of monitoring IP as it violate privacy. However, expert from IT would argued that IP is nothing more than an address, much like a PO box for incoming mail. To willingly to spread people's IP without reason would be no different than an act of harrassment.

In other topic, whether website owner have the right to hide their DNS information was a different but related subject. The DNS information would still show the IP of the server. Person who argued for hiding DNS information would say that if the website were doing something wrong, you can move on to a different website where as those who argued against say that criminals are shield from using website.

For the usage of the "words" to defame an idea about disclosing IP is disrespectful and bias against idea. I ask a little more maturity while enforcing the Technicpack forum. But, would agree to the moderators' request for hiding IP address for the sake of Technicpack forum's Term of Service until this can be resolve.

I think as everyone here has pointed out, The IP address' of any individuals has little to do with it, it doesn't help anyone in any way, nor does it actually make any difference to any of the people who were using the IP address at the time the offense took place to get them banned from the OP's server (or anyone elses who posted names and/or IP's)

The fact of the matter is, even if you were to lookup those IP's now there's a very slim chance that they still correspond to the same individuals. So it doesn't make much difference, anyone using them would only be banning innocent people from their server. Although the whole idea of "Protecting peoples privacy" though not posting IP's is pointless.

I honestly find this post to be 100% pointless, for the reasons listed 50 times above, and for the fact...who cares? These people might have done something wrong (Hard to tell seeing the OP gave no proof, btw you should add your own username cus I think I banned you once*coughcough*) but really...if you really want a global banning system use MCBans, or what ever that plugin is called. I never use it because I can protect my own server and don't need something keeping every other player offline because they broke a rule on a server I don't give 2 sh*ts about. If the player gets on your server and breaks a rule, ban him then. Don't be a "douchemonger. "

Btw my username is what my MC account is. ;). Honestly your insults don't mean much to me as i really don't care who u are. Don't wanna see the list, fine, don't. Doesn't hurt me any. Just thought I'd help.

Maybe next time don't be a huge pessimistic person ;). It looks bad. Just don't post and move on. But i guess some people just have to be rude to others. -Shrug-

That's incorrect. Any hacker/griefer/pirate/criminal worth their weight in salt knows how to spoof their IP. Publishing a persons IP address serves only one purpose, and that is as a means to harass people who DON'T know how to change their IP.

Oh, he talks back(Try that with "Jay?" lol). "Btw my username is what my MC account is." I would hope your MC Account name is....your mc account name? lol It wasn't an insult to you, well it kind of was, but you get my point. You shouldn't try and throw players under the dog house because they "Hacked" or whatever on your server, or anyone's for that matter. Now maybe if you had some proof, like idk, them stealing your private information or bypassing server side checks, then yea go ahead and warn people, but this post is just being a dick(Nothing Personal, its just a dick move). And If you take offence to my opinion then that's just a plus.

Salt? more like dirt. That's a pretty basic operation, compared to getting some griefing clients to work.
