BoostCrafters Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 BoostCraft, a revolutionary Minecraft performance enhancer is being released for public beta testing for the first time. Ebon Blade Productions have been hard at work for the past 3 months to bring you this stable version of our Minecraft Performance Enhancer. We're calling it BoostCraft. What is BoostCraft? BoostCraft is a Minecraft Performance Enhancer. It works by looking at your Minecraft files and removing cluttered coding to make it more efficient to access and use. BoostCraft has been tested on a variety of PCs and Laptops and we have found that on average, users recieve a 20-50fps improvement in normal gameplay as a result of using BoostCraft. Which version of Minecraft is BoostCraft compatible with? BoostCraft works with the latest Minecraft version (1.5.1) if you're unsure which version of Minecraft you have, launch Minecraft and look in the bottom left corner of your main menu. What do I need to run BoostCraft? If you can run Minecraft, you can run BoostCraft. BoostCraft has been tested with a variety of mods and does not obstruct any of them. Is BoostCraft safe to download? We understand that the Internet is not a very safe place with hackers and cyber thieves, and we take the security of our users very seriously. That's why we have taken the liberty of scanning BoostCraft with virustotal.com, a scanning website that shows the scan results of 46 different AntiVirus programs on a file. BoostCraft is 100% virus free and came up with 0/46 programs giving an alert for BoostCraft. You can check the results of the scan here: http://bit.ly/YGZIP3 Where can I download BoostCraft? BoostCraft is hosted by MediaFire. If you have any problems downloading, please leave a reply to this thread. http://www.mediafire.com/?kittenwar How do I install BoostCraft? It's simple! Simply open BoostCraft.zip and extract the BoostCraft Installer.exe file from it. Next open BoostCraft Installer.exe and follow the installation wizard. If you have any problems during installation, please leave a reply to this thread. Thanks for trying out BoostCraft! Please leave any comments or suggestions below and please tell us about any problems you experience. (For Minecraft crashes, please provide crash information with your reply)
RalphRoberts Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 So, can this be used with Optifine, or is it an either/or type of thing?
BoostCrafters Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 So, can this be used with Optifine, or is it an either/or type of thing? As the OP says, it's compatible with the mods we've tested. This includes Optifine. :)
RalphRoberts Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 OK, thanks for the quick reply. I will definitely be trying it out later today.
BoostCrafters Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 OK, thanks for the quick reply. I will definitely be trying it out later today. Great stuff! Let us know what you think! :)
infosoft Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Could you give a manual installation tutorial for mac and linux users?
GreenWolf13 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 It works by looking at your Minecraft files and removing cluttered coding to make it more efficient to access and use. As a modder, I'm very skeptical of this. I want to see some code to back up that claim.
Lethosos Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 More importantly, how cheap is your Viagra? Seriously, though, we need a third party look-through to ensure you're not some scammer wanting to steal our credit card info.
RalphRoberts Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 There is NO WAY I am using that! It is just an installer...
BoostCrafters Posted April 9, 2013 Author Posted April 9, 2013 Could you give a manual installation tutorial for mac and linux users? Hey, I've spoken to our lead coder and he tells me that unless you can run the .exe file, then you can't install BoostCraft, sorry about that... I'll be sure to add it under the section 'What do I need to run BoostCraft?'. As a modder, I'm very skeptical of this. I want to see some code to back up that claim. Hey, I've been speaking to our coding team and they've asked me to not release any of our source code over fear of plagiarism. Sorry about that, I hope we might be able to solve this some other way? More importantly, how cheap is your Viagra? Seriously, though, we need a third party look-through to ensure you're not some scammer wanting to steal our credit card info. Please read the above answer. There is NO WAY I am using that! It is just an installer... Alright man, sorry about that. Maybe one day we might find a way to release it with a manual install, but right now all I can say is: beta is beta.
NightKev Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 So what exactly does it do? From the OP, it sounds like all it would do is reduce memory footprint by patching out dead code?
planetguy Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 If you can run Minecraft, you can run BoostCraft. Not really, it's an EXE and Minecraft runs on Windows, Mac or Linux. One would be expected to notice this after three months in the community between the Linux and Mac versions available on minecraft.net and the regular appearance of screenshots with distinctly non-Windows GUIs around the game. No source and no manual installer is distinctly suspect, too. Most Minecraft mods are not put through a virus scanner, either. Edit: DO NOT DOWNLOAD! The checksum of the file scanned for viruses does NOT match the download from Mediafire, meaning that they are probably different files.
Neowulf Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Alright man, sorry about that. Maybe one day we might find a way to release it with a manual install, but right now all I can say is: beta is beta. And your beta is really suspect. Windows only and Java just scream malware. Especially since, as planetguy pointed out, your virus free file isn't the same one you're offering for download. So please give me a good reason to allow this to continue here.
freakachu Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 What is BoostCraft? BoostCraft is a Minecraft Performance Enhancer. It works by looking at your Minecraft files and removing cluttered coding to make it more efficient to access and use. BoostCraft has been tested on a variety of PCs and Laptops and we have found that on average, users recieve a 20-50fps improvement in normal gameplay as a result of using BoostCraft. as someone who actually has half a brain, this is complete BS. "cluttered coding"? who do you think runs this place, your grandmother? unless you can "talk to your lead coder" and give me some specifics that make sense, you are a charlatan at best and a thief at worst. there's no way you're doing something so intricate that it has no manual install process, yet does not conflict with forge/optifine. you offer zero proof of your claims, fake a clean virustotal scan, refuse to give details for fear of "plagarism" of a program that you aren't even charging for, and can't seem to use proper terminology to save your life. edit: you also claim it to be in beta so when it doesn't "work" and instead installs whatever trojan or backdoor you're probably proffering you can claim it must be some kind of bug because it's in beta. so here is the deal: put up, or shut up. explain to neowulf and I exactly what this program does in detail and why we should not simply ban your stupid ass. edit #2: here's your fucking virustotal, you tool: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/3dfa5e13a3c82baeaa1f91a5fee499ae75f42b9787d42efa7f24d1905e04a01d/analysis/ what was that you were saying again?
RalphRoberts Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 So glad I didn't run that, although I almost did.
Neowulf Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Pretty good english and fairly involved for a scam. Much more effort than the usual wikipedia clippings with Cheap Ugg Boots links added in. Planetminecraft is the only other site with the same post, but atleast that shows it wasn't solely targeted at technic. IP info says it's a static from Wrexham in the UK, and it didn't change over time so either that's a proxy or this guy is a complete idiot. According to that virustotal it's the standard ransom/RAT combo that crops up in drive-by download ads. So either this guy is an amateur "hacker" who found a trojan kit online and is looking to make some cash swiping creditcard numbers and trolling for juicy info on infected computers. Or he's an idiot troll looking to get some chuckles spreading around the virus that infected him in the recent past. Either way, point and laugh children.
AM6644 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 A mod should *snip* the link. I don't know how to contact them...
freakachu Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 A mod should *snip* the link. I don't know how to contact them... the link in question was altered to be harmless a while ago. it didn't always link to kittenwar.
