rune2504 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Hey i'm playing Tekkit with a friend. HOw do I get power to my pulverizer? Rune Hendriksen
Valkon Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Any engine will do, but I recommend either a stirling or steam engine.
rune2504 Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 How do they work? Do i need conductive pipes or what? I don't know how i'm new to the "New" Tekkit
Valkon Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 An engine can be connected directly to the pulverizer, though you can also use conductive pipes (or energy conduits) if you want.
rune2504 Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 What do you best like to use? And i want to have pipes.:-)
Valkon Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Usually I use steam engines and magmatic engines, since they don't have a warm-up time. Once I get enough redstone and relatively stable power, I usually make a Redstone Energy Cell, which functions as an energy storage for MJ. I then have my engines in one room pumping power into energy conduits (in your case, conductive pipes) connected to the energy cell and another line of conduits going out of the energy cell and into my machines.
rune2504 Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 Thank you very much, but, i still have a problem. When i place a engine at the side of the conductive pipe, it don't produce power. Wrench dosen't help. And the power is not going into the pipes(Conductive pipes)
theprolo Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Are you using Redstone Engines? They can't output power into pipes. Engines also need to output into wooden conductive pipes.
nedned2k Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Make sure they have fuel, and a redstone signal (like a redstone torch or lever next to it)
rune2504 Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 Oh I didn't have wooden pipe. Thanks. But can you only get power with coal?
theprolo Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 There's plenty of other types of engines. Look them up in NEI.
cerevox Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 There are also biofuel generators from MFR which, once you have an automated farm running, can easily be used to generate absurd amounts of power.
Lostonexxx Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Personally, I prefer to use steam and magmatics early game. Both easy to run, and provide a reasonable amount of power. One magmatic will run a pulverizer at full speed, it would take two steam engines to do the same.
cerevox Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Just get a few pumps in the nether and add on more magmatic engines as your power needs increase. They can take you all the way through end game.
supaman1982 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 every time i place a pump in water/lava it works for a short amount of time, then it completely stops working....any sugg.??
supaman1982 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 every time i place a pump in water/lava it works for a short amount of time, then it completely stops working....any sugg.?? I have engines hooked up, everything that the pump needs....
cerevox Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Stops working forever? Either you pumped up all the liquid, or you ran out of power for the pump.
supaman1982 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Stops working forever? Either you pumped up all the liquid, or you ran out of power for the pump. 4 redstone engines...and inf water pool
cerevox Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Stop using redstone engines. Use a real engine. Redstone engines are kind of crap for anything but wooden pipes.
theprolo Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Even better, replace the pump with an aqueus accumulator. No engines required, fast if used right, and auto outputting Also never randomly exhausts the water pool.
cerevox Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I don't get that. I have never had a pool fail on me, no matter the pump I use. Although the accumulator is probably a better habit to be in anyway.
theprolo Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Pumps can act weird when chunk loaded - especially when powered by something more than a redstone engine. Something to do with the water source blocks not reappearing in time, I think. Either way, the AA is generally a better option.
