MMLJ123 Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 So after exploring a bit I decided to set up camp with the new thermal expansion machines however after building a pulverizer I found that I could not power it.... Iv tried redstone, stirling, and steam engines nothing is working... tried messing with the redstone settings on the machine still no luck.... put engines all around it and still nothing.... even deleted and reinstalled all the tekkit files... engines work fine with buildcraft pump and pipes however.... any Ideas?
cerevox Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 They work fine with pipes and pumps, but not machines. You put engines all around but nothing. Imna take a guess at what is going on. You are putting fuel in the stirling and steam engines, right? Redstone engines require no fuel, only a redstone signal. However, redstone engines are too weak to power real machines and will only power pipes and pumps.
MMLJ123 Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 engines don't even pump... and i seem to have got the steam engine working so it looks like just buildcraft engines dont work...
cerevox Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Is the pulverizer on? If there is nothing for the pulverizer to do, it won't ask for power.
cerevox Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 And you are giving the stirling engine a redstone power signal?
CanVox Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I'm pretty sure that stirling engines need a redstone signal to work.
MMLJ123 Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 ahh I see... wellp stirlings going I can work with that =P thanks
red_dust Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 you've probably tried this already, but rotate the pulveriser so that it connects the red panel to the steam engine. You rotate it using the quartz screwdriver. Also, use the quartz screwdriver to make sure the engine is pumping in the right direction.
King Lemming Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 BC engines need a redstone signal, TE ones do not necessarily. Redstone Engines won't work on anything in TE.
Lagnalok Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 you've probably tried this already, but rotate the pulveriser so that it connects the red panel to the steam engine. You rotate it using the quartz screwdriver. Also, use the quartz screwdriver to make sure the engine is pumping in the right direction. or you can simply open the interface and switch where what goes in and out, no tool required - works with all TE machines, one of the neatest things I've ever seen in a mod.
Teraku Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Yeah, I really like how you can change inputs and outputs, and that inputs and outputs are handled automatically, without needing engines.
Jdavi3 Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 What you have to do is use a switch for the sterling engine idk why it is but it works for me :P
Lethosos Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Because it's a Buildcraft engine, not one of Lemmy's awesome TE engines. Those don't have the GUI like his. (Speaking of that, we need the source for that. It's way too sexy to remain in TE.)
TokiWartooth Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 TE has me so spoiled, during the 1.1.0 version which had mekanism, I hated having to use a tool to fix what side was what slot interally, because it meant tearing up my power lines and other machines to do it.
