Jyn Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 just wondering whats some good programs for doing recordings and how much the cost (free is better)
freakachu Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 having tried both for the purpose of recording minecraft, DXtory is far better IMO.
Jyn Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 i was saying free was better cuz i am frack ass poor
freakachu Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 if you are limited to free only, there are no viable options.
Cheap Shot Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 if you are limited to free only, there are no viable options. Echoing this. Do not use free fraps.

jakj Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 MSI Afterburner kinda sorta slightly has video capture for nVidia cards. Install a free Un*x OS like Ubuntu and there are oodles of free video-capture options.
Coffeene Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 http://www.xsplit.com/ Public Beta so its free for now (you can pay for it now and when its released it will remain free and its cheaper)

Heck, look up HAK5's video on how to just use the X windowing system to record your desktop. Think Nixie Pixel also did a video about what she uses to record her desktop. Note that you should play around with the FPS recording setting till you get it to record at a good quality.
Synthetica Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Just a idea, haven't tested this, don't know if it will perform good, or at all, but VLC has a built in desktop record mode.

Oh yeah, I believe it does, I used it to (attempt) to stream once. Didn't get far as I could not for the life of me figure out how to output the data. I will give recording a shot and report back my findings.
