Pugsley Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 (edited) Modpack Request Thread! Hello! I am well aware that there are many threads just like this out there, unfortunately most are inactive / dead. However, worry no more! This topic is simple, if you aren't up for making a modpack or need a little help, this is the thread for you! Your modpack request must have atleast 5 mods in it! I will do any version of forge / minecraft. Please use the following format for posting your requests! As Captain Obvious said, only get your mods from legit sources. Curseforge.com or MinecraftForums.com! Your modpack may be built by ether me this author of this op. Or StopMockingMe who has compressed his thread with this one! Formatting: GET ALL YOUR MODS FROM TRUSTED SOURCES, THEN PUT THEM ALL IN A FOLDER, ZIP IT. UPLOAD IT TO COPY.COM OR DROPBOX AND SEND IT TO ME. FROM NOW ON, I WILL ONLY CONFIGURE MODPACKS DUE TO THE FACT I AM SO BUSY. THANK YOU. IF YOU WANT YOUR MODPACK TO BE DONE FASTER. PRE DOWNLOAD ALL MODS FOR THAT SPECIFIC MINECRAFT VERSION, ZIP THE FILE AND SEND IT TO ME. ITS ALOT EASIER FOR ME, AND YOU WILL GET YOUR PACK WAY FASTER. REMEMBER TO DOWNLOAD YOUR MODS FROM ONLY MINECRAFTFORUMS & MOD AUTHOR WEBSITES. I will not add a mod into a public modpack, that goes against a mod author's license. So this means check the forum topic, etc before putting it in the list! I am doing this completely free without charge! This means it may take a few days for me to process your modpack! I only ask that you wait patiently, and enjoy the finshed product! If you do not put a link URL by the mod, it will not be added!!! I went ahead and made this topic after reading: Edited June 30, 2014 by Pugsley
Moderators Munaus Posted June 6, 2014 Moderators Posted June 6, 2014 you should probably add that it is obligatory to put links to each and every mod the user wants. Unless you want the stress to look for them yourself... just a tip

So Parachute Mod - http://parachutelink.com Also please cut down on your mods, you have about 150 mods there, and half of them aren't even for 1.6.4, Read the licenses, I will not add mods such as Optifine, or Mo creatures because that is against their legal info. "I do this beacuse I have confidence in you" said JoeljoelTolz 6/6-2014 And to anyone else who read this topic months after this conversation between 2 users... Modpacks are awsome! And those who helped ya with yours (if you did one) think of those for a minute. Think of the staff of thiss wonderful forum and modpacks. Think of those who MADE Tekkit. Those the staff, modders etc. They like what they have created. The mods are the building blocks the wood and stone/cobblestone in Minecraft. The the staff and modders for the mods those rare ores that keeps you glued to the screen for hours. you see no mods, no Tekkit (or FTB). So you see think how would Minecraft bee realy. Now that is a very good question...
Moderators Munaus Posted June 7, 2014 Moderators Posted June 7, 2014 never get mods from a site that has [number]minecraftforum.com or minecraft[insert additional words here].com minecraftforum.net or curse.com is the prefered sites where modders put links to their mods. (a few exceptions is the few who posts their mods on this forum, and maybe on FTB forum?) Get your mods anywhere else and you risk your computer to downloading adware / malware and other crap.

Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted June 10, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted June 10, 2014 @Pugsley: The pack you provided a link for in post #12 in this thread: The modpack.jar file is oddly sized. This file is just the Forge universal binary jar renamed to modpack.jar. Nothing more, nothing less. There are a number of files in the coremods folder. Forge/MC 1.6.4 does not use a coremods folder. All mods go in the mods folder. There are item ID conflicts between: BCTools & Metallurgy, BakingCraft & something (maybe, not familiar with this mod or its initialization), FoodPlus & Carpenter's Blocks, FoodPlus & Metallurgy, FoodPlus & Turtle. Failure to fix these conflicts will result in significant problems.

I tested all mods via Regular minecaft for item ID Conflicts and it passed with flying colors! I have seen numerous packs for 1.6.4 that use a coremods folder, maybe you just haven't looked around. - Pugs
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted June 10, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted June 10, 2014 I tested all mods via Regular minecaft for item ID Conflicts and it passed with flying colors! I have seen numerous packs for 1.6.4 that use a coremods folder, maybe you just haven't looked around. Maybe I wasn't communicating very well. I'll try to be a little more verbose: Forge/MC for 1.6.4 and up does not use a coremods folder in any way, under any circumstances. If there are items in that folder inside a modpack archive they will be totally ignored. The very thing that the person above complained about, that it doesn't find bspkrsCore, is because that mod is inside the coremods folder. Simply moving it over to the mods folder (along with the rest of the contents of coremods) corrects the problem. Looking inside the ForgeModLoader client log when using the config/Flan/mods folders from your assembled modpack archive yields dozens of item ID conflicts. These can be found by searching for the word "CONFLICT" (without quotes). Some mods purposefully overwrite existing IDs so a few conflicts, depending on the mod in question, are not necessarily bad. However, the large number that exist between wildly differing types of items and mods means that the mods in question will operate in unexpected ways or not at all. These MUST be fixed for proper modpack/mod operation.
