  1. Wow, you're either a troll or dumber than a pancake, without the syrup. Why would you necro this thread that's over a month old and doesn't have a single thing to do with your issue? Also, why didn't you just go to the bug forum with a proper bug report for your problems?
  2. When you set up the frames that attach to the frame motor, I'm pretty sure that frames to which you attach covers (of any type) will not allow adjacent blocks to be moved. So all you have to do is build an elevator of frames and attach covers of the type you prefer (I like obsidian). http://nemesis.evalq.net/RedPower2/recipes.html (Support Frame)
  3. Personally, I take on creative projects in the end-game. Once I've completed everything I want and need from the mods, I use the additional items (especially RP2 microblocks) to create cool stuff. Personally, I wish someone created a mod suited only for microblocks that enabled a user to use a GUI to cut any type of place-able MC or mod block to be cut out/into 100*100 pieces (in any fashion). In short, a mod that would enable a person to carve a normal block to the cm. Anyway, that dream aside, what I focus on are creative and architectural projects such as parks, southern plantations, and world monuments. Sometimes I just go onto other peoples' servers (with support from the management team) and build such things because it's something I enjoy more than toiling in the dirt for resources. On my own server, I do toil for the resources but my end game is building the same creative structures.
  4. If you mean best in terms of EMC value(s): Jungle Tree farm (if the server has a plugin like choptree; manual) Flax farm Dark room Generally, in that order. A few times in SSP, I set up a deployer on a timer with bonemeal and saplings in it as long as Treecapitator was installed and set to destroy leaves (without destroying leaves it's just less efficient).
  5. As I said, polite warning (I was in a better mood earlier ;p). I won't hold it against you, man/woman, most of us on here (as I've observed) just want to know you've done your research and homework before posting threads that are similar or equal to what's been posted before. If you seek to learn, we will likely help but if you seek to get lazy, you'll get torn apart. In short, that's what I meant. Either way, i hope I helped you out and I hope you can get everything working. Just ensure the questions you pose aren't posed a bunch of times prior (by searching first) and you should be alright.
  6. While I disagree with some of your statements, your conclusion is pretty spot on and an argument I've used for EE in the past. Although you stated you didn't make dark and red matter (which means you haven't experienced the later portions of EE2), EE2 is a shift in the traditional MC difficulty curve and that's why I love it. Once duping bugs are eliminated (stone slabs or something, macerating blaze rods, etc), EE simply changes how the game is played at every level. In the early-game, EE2 makes locating some resources easier (at a slight cost). In mid-game, it helps one change items of little use (at present) into items one needs or it helps one consolidate one's materials to save space. I've used EE to turn chests of cobble into some iron and I've turned a lone diamond into enough smooth stone to entomb my gf when she went afk. In the end-game the efficient ones win by building large EMC farms or interesting cross-mod contraptions (often using RP2) to generate as much EMC as possible because crafting things that require a lot of red matter really drains one's inventory unless they afk a long time or keep the chunks loaded. Quick note to VideoBoy, the Swiftwolf's Rending Gale (fly ring) consumes EMC at a rate of 1 redstone dust per 5 seconds from fuel in the inventory of the player or a charged Klein Star; The Ring of Arcana consumes no fuel but the material cost of it is far greater than anything you've spent spent on jet pack and fuel...ever. By the time you make one, you don't really care. EE, in short, is all about how it's used by the player and how they choose to have fun (that is what MC is about, right?). In SMP, the choice to use EE2 and how it's used, comes down to what the desires of the server owner and management team are. If you want a server where people have to dig every diamond out of the earth and grind for every piece of iron scrap, EE is not for you. If you want a somewhat stable economy, it'll probably be hard to balance unless major parts of EE2's EMC generation is turned off. If, however, you have a good, small, close-knit community that wants to struggle for awhile and then take on creative projects afterward, EE2 is quite nice and that's why we have a blast with it. In short, I love EE2, especially when people balance around it to make for an interesting challenge. It's one of the main reasons I've finished two runs of the Feed The Beast SMP beta (v9005, I think, in case they changed it).
  7. I know what to do! Fill out a bug report with client-side logs and all relevant information that would allow someone to help you without guessing!
  8. Don't bump your posts (especially after less than a day, have some patience), it won't get you a friendly response. 1. Go here: http://mcportcentral.co.za/wiki/index.php?title=Ports_for_1.2.5 2. Find bukkit mod you want to install (Crafting Table 3 is on there). 3. Install server-side. 4. Test and deal with block id conflicts, forge crashes, or whatever else. 5. If everything is good, install client-side and configure like the server (if not using the default config). 6. Launch client and test. 7. Troubleshoot. I don't know if my Tekkit is up-to-date as my version still uses IC2 1.95b which should be fine with Crafting Table 3 B1.8 which is the latest ported version on that page. If the newest version uses IC2 1.97, you're out of luck until Crafting Table 3 is updated and then ported to Bukkit. If you run into trouble you can't fix, keep it in this post and bring relavent information such as pastebins of logs and version numbers and all that fun stuff. If you are interested in installing mods in the future, do more research into installing bukkit mods and then post if/when you run into trouble with more information. Posts going, "Hey I don't know how to do something so spell it out for me," also don't get a positive response around here. Consider this a polite warning. Good luck and happy mining. EDIT: I just checked my Tekkit folder and I have Crafting Table B1.8 installed and I believe I'm running the Tekkit 3.0.3 Rec build. If you're running the latest version (3.1.1, I believe) then you may be out of luck unless you feel like going back to 3.0.3 (and finding the server file for it) because I'd bet that 3.1.1 features IC2 1.97. Another edit: If you're willing to lose some mods and go back a version, you can try going here: mirror.technicpack.net/files/Tekkit_Server_3.0.3.zip Personally, I'd just wait for the CF that is Crafting Table 3 to get fixed before going balls to the walls trying to get it back. The Tekkit team didn't include it for a reason, either the GUI, dupe, or other bugs may still exist and it probably causes problems with all the new goodies. Something to consider before putting in the time trying to fix it.
  9. Like what? Are they on the same network? Are you connecting to the right IP? Did you ensure the IP for your server won't change (by using a dedicated IP for it)? What you've said thus far: 'I have 2 computers, one for gaming and a server that I can't connect to. I pushed some random buttons until I failed to fix it or broke it more and now I expect someone to hack my computers, read my mind, and fix my problems without providing any useful information whatsoever.' Provide more information if you want help.
  10. If you were to read my post: I know. Some people don't use the stop command (I don't know why). It doesn't hurt to know that both exist. If your server crashes, do you have a chance to use the stop command? Did you even read the post you quoted?
  11. The server saves at specific intervals, like the client would in SSP. However, it doesn't save after every action and it's entirely possible to play for an hour and have a crash that eliminates the past hour's work if the server isn't able to save before shutting down. If one were to save or shut down the server properly using the stop command, one shouldn't have to worry about the server failing to save their progress (short of unexpected crashes and freezes). Nevertheless, it can't hurt to save manually after or during important projects on the off chance a crash does occur.
  12. "/save-all" from in-game or "save-all" in the console...just like regular MC. You do have to be an OP to use it though, I believe. Also, if you "/stop" or "stop" the server, it should save everything as it shuts down.
  13. Did this post have a purpose? I'm just asking based on the completely random nature of the post.
  14. It isn't but it's nice. I can't stand having to deal with 2 types of copper and 2 types of tin because it makes chest sorting hard so what I always have to do is transmute one to the other if I encounter it.
  15. You don't need a minecraft server file. The server is run on bukkit and it's included in the zip. As for plugins, check around. It depends on what type of server you choose to operate.
  16. I haven't installed forestry into Tekkit 3 (yet?) but, just in case, do a block ID dump before you install it (because it's easier at the start). If you run into block id conflicts, you'll have a list of what is used and what is unused so you can just change the config and get going. Don't forget to give your server users the the block ids you assign to forestry. If you don't know how: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/how-to-create-and-use-a-block-id-dump.10289/
  17. You get the bukkit port and stick it in the mods folder. You said you put the server jar file in the mods folder. The normal server jar file from Forestry's website is for vanilla MC servers. Bukkit-based servers (like tekkit) require you to install the bukkit port into the mod folder. Same process, different file. If you have trouble, contact your host's customer service and have them help you. If you have an error because of a block id conflict, find my post about how to create and use a block id dump (if you don't know how). I suggest you create one before you begin.
  18. If this is your computer ( http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/insp560mt/en/cs/cs_en.pdf ), I don't see how you can have 10Gb in it. Also, next time just dump the important parts of your dxdiag.txt (run dxdiag and save a text file) in code tags and it'd be easier to understand what you're running (or a link to the specs of the computer because some can be configured quite differently). If that's your computer, I'm confused. If I'm not mistaken, intel atom processors are for mobile devices, netbooks, tablets, etc. I also don't understand how you managed to run 10Gb in your computer (must be a weird configuration of sticks negating that your model shouldn't be able to support 10Gb of RAM). Anyway, did you try what I recommended in my last post? Also, based on the system specs I posted above, your bus speeds would slow down processing and your computer doesn't seem to be strong enough to run an OS like windows and a server (much less a MC client if you're trying to run them on the same system). If you're trying to run a dedicated server and not play on the same computer, would you be willing to try a lighter OS? If not, I don't think I can recommend anything else with the limited knowledge I have of your setup.
  19. Have at it but from what I've read BC seems to cause some lag issues and may be the cause of these issues, not the solution. I haven't tested or confirmed yet, however. Aside from the error, do you have any issues with the game itself? If not, just disable the warning and live in peace. Also, if the app you're using to read CPU load just indicates load on the CPU as a whole instead of individual threads or cores, it wouldn't be a good indicator. I'm pretty sure bukkit only runs on one core. If you disable HT in BIOS (if applicable), it may force the server to run on a physical core rather than a logical core which may help but I'm just speculating at this point.
  20. It's a sticky. http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/useful-guides-links-server-setup-guides-fixes-patches-more.11408/ ...2nd one down.
  21. Don't sign your posts. http://mcportcentral.co.za/wiki/index.php?title=Ports_for_1.2.5 You need the bukkit port for the version your clients intend to use. You may still run into problems, but that's the first step.
  22. You are using Bukkit... Tekkit is built on the Bukkit platform. You could probably provide sometime like - oh I don't know - system specs, list of plugins (if applicable), effects on the server when this happens, etc. It just means your computer can't process the information fast enough. Hell, try lowering your RAM to allocate only 2Gb max and 1 Gb initial. Then test it. The reason it shows up every so often is probably because your server gets overloaded when java takes out the garbage with all the RAM you've attached to the server. Also, if you're running the client on the same machine. Try only allocating, at most, 2Gb to it instead of every free bit of juice. You could also trying setting the server at a higher priority so the server processes information before anything else. Hell, if anyone else can chime in, there might even be a way to assign the server a specific physical thread that isn't processing anything else (then again, I have no idea since I don't know your computer specs or the command to change process affinity for bukkit or if it's possible to assign it processor affinity).
  23. http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/how-do-i-add-more-ram-to-my-tekkit-3-0-4-server-please-help.14533/#post-107854 Same problem, read down a bit. It's a processing problem. I can only see it being a RAM problem if you have too little allocated or way too much and your processor bogs down when java has to take out the garbage.
  24. ...and converts text into Russian, evidently. If the addons have SMP bukkit ports, you should be able to add them in. Then you'l just have to install the same version client-side and make sure the configs line up. If, however, the addons are SSP only or regular SMP without bukkit ports, you won't be able to add them to a Tekkit server. Do you understand what I mean? For example, I've never heard of rocketry being converted into an SMP bukkit port. If someone finally did and released it, you'd have to find it on sites that host bukkit ports. As for the enchanting table you show above, I've seen that mod once but don't remember it being SMP (or allowing enchanting of IC2 items, for that matter). So, in short. Yes, it may be possible to add some mods and addons that are ported into bukkit but you'd have to check the list of bukkit ports. I don't remember exactly where that list is though, perhaps someone else might post it here. Edit: I found the page listing major mods and bukkit ports (It includes some addons). http://mcportcentral.co.za/wiki/index.php?title=Ports_for_1.2.5
