  1. In that case, I would post this as a bug report with all the necessary logs on the Tekkit SMP Bug forum because that's an error I can kind of understand but I'm not familiar with it and I don't know how to fix it. The eggheads in the bug forum should have better luck if you provide them all the information they need.
  2. You may have not stopped the other server properly. Try restarting your computer. If you're intent on using hamachi, this is where my help ends because I won't be able to provide any unless it's for general server problems.
  3. That is what I said in my second line but I don't think they understood it that way.
  4. For the record, I don't use hamachi (for many, many reasons). As for your question, I don't know what you're trying to ask me.
  5. Agreed. Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes: "The ancient Oracle said that I was the wisest of all the Greeks. It is because I alone, of all the Greeks, know that I know nothing" –Socrates
  6. To disable mods just remove them from the server's mod folder. To enable hunger, just change the difficulty in the server properties file (I play on 3 - Hard, and wouldn't recommend 4 because it should ban anyone who dies).
  7. localhost means log into your own computer. If you can't get hamachi to work, port forwarding is the only real way to go. It's not hard, just look at the instruction book for your router, log into it, and go to port settings. Forward port 25565 TCP and UDP to your computer and that's it. There are also many applications that run scripts to do it for you if you put in the make and model of your router but it's simple enough that you should be able to do if you're running a server.
  8. FML = Forge Mod Loader. You just didn't install the mods for whatever reason but I'm glad you got it working.
  9. Does that mean you've deleted the launcher you downloaded and downloaded another one? If so, that's the same as deleting and putting back a shortcut and expecting the program to work. If you're on windows, which I assume because you didn't fill out the bug report, go to %appdata% and find the .techniclauncher folder. Inside is another folder called Tekkit. Delete that folder (named Tekkit) and try re-installing using the launcher again.

  11. That's not nice Jay?, what if quin wound up being your neighbor? I'm sure Jay? meant your gas tank...adds hp.
  12. Server version? The Tekkit version you're trying to run? Some sort of relevant information besides "it's broke, fix it" would be helpful.
  13. I don't recall if a deployer facing a tank would deposit oil into it or not but it'd be worth a shot. If not, you could try deploying into a block then have a pump suck it up.
  14. Yeah, getting some of those machines to play nicely with tubes sometimes takes a creative solution.
  15. I recall reading they only accepted 32 EU/t but the new author doesn't mention it (or I missed it): http://forum.industrial-craft.net/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=4907 I do like how the updated advanced machine takes overclockers and transformer upgrades though so the problem can be easily resolved.
  16. Without a transformer upgrade, the machines should only accept 32 EU/t packets of power. An MFE produces 128 EU/t packets. You're lucky your advanced machines haven't exploded. Just go on the industrialcraft wiki and remember that from power storage you can either move packets in 32, 128, or 512 EU/t packets for a batbox, MFE, and MFSU (respectively). If you were to have a SUC reactor, for example, you'd probably have to use an HV transformer before plugging into an MFSU because those only take 512 EU/t packets. In short, don't input EU/t packets that are greater than what your machines can accept. It's like plugging a blender into a high voltage power line, it's not going to end well for the blender...or you when you plug it in.
  17. They'll probably remain in their present role and function unless Eloraam changes them.
  18. Yeah, 1.5Mb up is not going to support 40 people no matter how much RAM you shove into that thing.
  19. At the same time? Maybe. Might need more but you can't turn HDD space into RAM (even if it was swap it'd probably be too slow even on a SSD). If you'll need more RAM, you'll have to buy another stick or so of RAM and plug it in. Watch your server stats and see how much of the allocated RAM it's eating and how much of the processor the server is using. Out of curiosity, what kind of home internet connection do you have that you plan to support 40 people at a time?
  20. Hi, welcome, go here: http://forums.technicpack.net/forms/tekkit-bug-report.2/respond Fill that out and someone will get back to you eventually. Don't forget to include all relevant information otherwise they won't get back to you. Side note, was this user a Kellar before they're first post, was there another post that was deleted, or were they Keller-ed for this one?
  21. You do realize that with 5Gb of allocated RAM you'll probably be able to support more people than your home internet connection's bandwidth will allow? Side note: When I saw the title "Ram Sharing" I thought you meant sharing one of these:
  22. Ha-ha! That was a good laugh. Funny thing is, I play with my girlfriend all the time and we actually complement each other quite well because of our playstyle(s). @OP, if you want to bring her into vanilla MC first, I suggest a simple map where she can get her bearings and understand the basics. The first map I ever played with my girlfriend was this one and it helped her learn to play and helped us get used to working together to achieve a common goal. If you teach her Tekkit first, you'll have to teach her the vanilla basics and restrain yourself from tech-ing faster than she can understand it (imagine not knowing a damn thing and walking into an automated factory or seeing a RP2 frames quarry). However, that would allow you guys to progress in one world and keep working toward one thing. Once you've taught her Tekkit, why not end your relationship with some FTB (the new 9005 co-op or the upcoming versus).
  23. Several project tables, alchemical chests, and Shift+Ctrl+click. It sucks but it's not as bad as you'd think. Making a stack of HV Solar panels, however, would really suck.
  24. It sounds like something server-side since your client may try to spawn items but the server doesn't know they exist. It's possible that you may have somehow turned off IC2 server-side or deleted it. Try re-installing your server or having a closer look at your server's mod directory. Server logs would also help (that and knowing which version of server and client you were trying to run).
  25. Have you tried editing the bukkit.yml to reduce the spawn size? It should kill your basic spawn protection but it may cause people to spawn where you want them to. I don't know if this will do it but it might (I've always had people spawn in the setspawn unless there was something in the way).
