  1. Sounds like one of two things, assuming your right with "whats wrong" the mod author made a mistake and his mod is broke for everyone or you downloaded a bad copy of the mod from a bad site. If you didn't get it from here, per the mod author, you really shouldn't have. http://lycanitesmobs.nephrite.uk/ If your still having problems then contact the mod author.. http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1291613-lycanites-mobs-environmental-mobs-aggressive ALWAYS get the mods from the mod authors NOT 2 bit sites who either relink or steal the code and add bad stuff to it.
  2. You can also get the link of the mod pack's page, even hidden packs; such as mine, still have a page. Then cut/paste that link into the uri bar on the top left.
  3. The /only/ thing I can figure, doing mod packs searches and looking at some of the names. I wonder if the back-end is a *nix server as it doesn't like spaces in names and while that works in windows, linux not so much.
  4. Please use Pastebin for pasting as your links come up as untrusted for paste.unbuntu.com Your copy.com link appears to be just fine, or at least it looks the same as mine and my modpack works and push's updates when I set them up.
  5. . I find the new launcher cumbersome and an exercise in frustration to use. The lack of of the ability to easily install a modpack by pasting in the url for the modpack into the launcher is a total fail especially when the modpack web page automatically copies the URL to the clipboard. I'm not even sure what you are talking about. The number of support posts, new updates, and general conversation about the new launcher makes it easier to use and for mod pack authors, like me, I find it an incredible benefit due to the addition of Soldier. I know a lot of people hate change and it has been a bit of a bumpy ride, but you almost always get that with new software and you will get it with software supported for free by a community of those who love something. First, though its only my opinion and knowledge, you will not be reverting back to the old launcher. My software development career says the old is gone welcome the new. Then your statement, "Cumberson and exercise in frustration" should be explained a bit more. Generic random statements just tell someone that you just hate the new thing and can't be bothered to learn the changes. Let us help you.
  6. Really? Show links and screen's or it didn't happen. I've been running BOP since 1.4.7 and the new mod pack I'm working on has NO problems with BOP and I've had to generate a new world repeatedly.
  7. @bochen415 You are very brave. @Amon_Ice_Fire & @bochen415 MOD Packs are a lot of work. You provide no information or support value. Do you have a server? What version of minecraft? What server type (IE cauldron, spigot, ftb, technic, ect) What OS, that's the operating system, will it sit on (32 or 64 bit? linux/windows/Mac) There are a dozen more questions I could ask you before we even try to build the mod pack. Then you must make it all work together, update it, and possibly even add plugins. I can't say you won't get help but I think you need to understand the scope of work your asking someone to take on for you and you need to provide a lot more information and do some using of google. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=How+to+make+a+mincraft+mod+pack
  8. E has a lot of good ideas but some that need to be thought of.. You can't move your mouse 2" ? - a play button next to each modpack on the left panel. instead of having to click the modpack then going to the right to click play why not a quick play feature on the list of modpacks? This one just scares me because sometimes I don't want to update the mod pack. - A auto updating feature? I would love to enable a auto updater so I don't have to wait for a update when I wake up or get on and find a new update happened and have to wait when it could have installed it for me when it first came out This one is rather awesome since it would show my players what I've changed and why. - a change log slot on modpacks so we can see a quick view of what was added to modpacks instead of having to go to the website and find out
  9. As someone who has lurked for over two years now I wanted to say that, minus the bumps, things have improved greatly for the better, espically with the new launcher. My first server was Tekkit server with a few friends and we had a good time back then. I was looking through the forums and trying to find out where to post about new servers and mod packs that are not part of the offical tekkit. I have created a mod pack and am about ready to post an open invite for beta testing. I want to make sure I post in the right forum, the right way, and be able to keep the converstation alive till we are able to set everything, including the web site, up completely. Anyone having a link or direction to share would be great. Thanks <removed sig block Just in case>
  10. Not only do the pipes have issues, I could post my own bug report, but the liquid transposer is having issues. I know this is all done by volunteers but it seems this release has a LOT of bugs with some of the mod packs.
  11. When you solve a problem please post the result. I'm not running on windows but I can promise my error in linux is pretty much what you posted. I could do a DIFF and be 100% sure but if its different its not by much.
  12. Thanks! - I didn't suspect something was "wrong" per say just wondering about the ram. I'll lookup your suggestion and try to learn about it. Next QUEST! :)
  13. I've seen many discussion on the "distance limits" or lack thereof on the teleport pipes in Tekkit Classic and I can say there is a limit but what controls the limit now there is the real question. I've tested this, a little bit so far, on my server and found the following to be true. My home is 525 meters from SPAWN. If I try to use a teleport pipe FARTHER away I can only go 135M before it will no longer work, no matter what I try. If, however, I try to move "closer" to spawn I can go as far as 200M. I've even tried this from SPAWN and gotten different results. Spawn is 175M. The results are the same whether its underground VS mountain, clear line of site at 100 y or not. Does anyone have a server with 4G of ram allocated? I'm using -Xmx3G -Xms2G thoughts? Could it be limited based on the RAM you allocate? Something else? Especially given the distances vary.
