  1. There's a (slow) migration away from Tekkit Classic because the newer versions (Lite and the new Tekkit) offer both (a few) advanced features in the vanilla game, but more importantly updated and new features on mods, as well as new mods being developed. A brand new Tekkit Classic server, while there will be people that play, won't see the influx that a new 1.4.7 or 1.5.x server will likely have.
  2. I hate to say this, but any answers you get here don't mean much. There are so many different ideas as to what makes a good server that you pretty much just have to start one and mess around with a bunch of stuff before you get a winning combination.
  3. Too late.
  4. I think the post and response stand up fine on their own. There's no need for thread cleaning here. This just goes to show that resolving stuff privately instead of spamming forum threads is almost always better.
  5. Moved to LP section. Please put it in the right place next time.
  6. I would guess you need to update your Java version (but you don't give the complete version number) and probably clear and reinstall Tekkit Classic. Make sure you match TC version number, 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 are the ones most people use, the former being the more common.
  7. Posting in the right section would probably help more. And that error log. And, ummm, any other relevant information.
  8. You also have a very old version of Java. I suggest updating it before you post a bug report.
  9. I love how this comment comes nearly a month after I said something. You are aware of how PMs work on this forum?
  10. Have you considered using the search function on the Platform page? There are several versions of the old Technic pack that people have kindly preserved for just such a demanding person as you. In any case, Technic SSP has been removed as a mod pack because it's fallen out of date, and support has been stopped for it. There are so many single-player type mod packs out there, though, that you'd have to be either really lazy or blind not to find something to suit your fancy.
  11. Having Java 6 doesn't prevent you from also having Java 7, and most (probably all) operating system search for the newest version of Java. Did you happen to PM Ysharma for a solution? He said a few things throughout the thread.
  12. *Poof*
  13. There is no news. Does that mean it's good news?
  14. You have rather old versions of both the launcher and Java. I suggest backing up worlds and mod folders if you have any, and updating both.
  15. Somebody reported the guy for thread spam. I don't ordinarily venture into too many server threads, simply because there are so many of them.

    Yogbox

YogBox stopped being maintained by the pack's creator quite some time ago, so it didn't migrate to the new launcher. You will need to find another mod pack that has many/most/all of the same mods, and/or assemble one yourself.
  17. Please read this thread. Also, I'm guessing you still have a copy of Java 7 installed, since Java doesn't remove newer versions by default.
  18. I'm starting to get the impression that English is not your first language, you're between the ages of 8 and 12, or you simply don't care how you sound. If you think about how the use of the acronym "lol" makes your post read, that might encourage you to stop using it. It's neither rude nor arrogant to avoid laughing out loud while you're trying to fix a problem. See my summary post above. If other people have managed to get the content packs working, I have a suggestion. Download one of those mod pack files without doing it from the launcher (just use the URL provided, but in a browser), look at it, and figure out how they put it in the pack.
  19. Please read this thread. Well, maybe not all of it, but enough to get the gist. I believe there is a "fix" somewhere in there.
  20. It doesn't really help. Allow me to translate, since something about what we're asking you to do is hilarious to you (given the lols) and you're not making a lot of sense. 1) Flan's mod was already in the mod pack Luke made for me, but there were no content packs to use with it. 2) I downloaded the content packs I wanted. 3) I copied the content pack files into the mod pack file. 4) I loaded the mod pack, and got a whitescreen or other error. See, 1) and 2) are information on the situation, and we don't need anything else on those, other than to know what the situation is. 3) and 4) are action and result, and more information is needed. Did you put the files in a sub-folder inside the mod pack file? If so, what sub-folder? The way I read the Flan's thread on MCF, they need to go in a Flan folder, which is created either manually or when you run the game with the mod installed. That means you may have to install the content packs after the mod pack is run or installed. What kind of error did you get, if there was anything visible, and do you have a launcher or error log of it? My description is the kind of process you would use to troubleshoot anything, from a car to a piece of software to assembling furniture. Learn to use diagnostic tools, and life, not just Minecraft, will go more smoothly for you.
  21. For situation 2, they can tell who put them there with plugin tools, so good luck blaming it on someone else. For situation 1, you and only you are responsible for the security of your account. If you allow a friend to use it, you are responsible for their actions while using it. End of story.
  22. This isn't a bug. It's a mod glitch, and should be reported to the mod author(s) in question, probably MachineMuse and micdoodle8. Also, I'm fairly sure MPS messes with other things as well. For example, I've been unable to auto-sort any chest with any piece of MPS in it.
  23. Locked as resolved.
