  1. Yes. May I suggest the section of the forums dedicated entirely to running a server?
  2. That's what spell-check is for! Also, it would be good if you could describe the solution, although since your description of the problem was incredibly unclear, I doubt the solution description would be much better. /thread Edit: He PM'd the solution.
  3. Indeed. Simply saying that you have done a bunch of things is not helpful in determining where something went wrong. You have to describe what you did.
  4. Ooh, ooh, I have a question! What is a tittle? Last I checked, it was synonymous with iota and jot.
  5. FTFY. :derp:
  6. When I installed and ran Mo' Creatures on my personal server, quite some time ago, the server needed only the Dr. Zhark's file, but the GuiAPI was a .jar mod, and the client needed both the Dr. Zhark's file and the Custom Mob Spawner in the mods folder. This was before platform, though, and I haven't tried it since then.
  7. Niavmai has hit on your problem. You're in the wrong place. :D
  8. The correct version of optifine gets extracted directly into the appropriate (mod-pack-specific) copy of modpack.jar - that's it. You can then configure it from inside the game.
  9. You need a version number. Please report the thread or PM a mod with the Tekkit version to have it changed.
  10. He's talking about the server posting guidelines sticky you failed to read.
  11. The word you're looking for is meritocracy. And it's not, really. It's a dictatorship with benevolent, merit-focused laws. His comment made sense to anyone who's heard the reference. Regardless, what he says made a bit of sense - you're flailing. Be patient, provide more information for people to use to help you, or learn to do stuff yourself. Oh, and I locked the thread, since it's getting nowhere.
  12. Stickied. I may have to create a reference thread to link to a bunch of these if we get too many more.
  13. You need to: 1) restart after installing Java, 2) direct a batch file to run the .jar version of the launcher off wherever you put Java, OR 3) add Java to your Windows system path. I'll leave it up to you to decide which is easier.
  14. Comments like this make me want to leave this to sit for exactly a week, just because. Hint: If you're "hoping to get bigger", you may want to put some more effort into your server post. For now, I'll approve it, since you met the bare minimum requirements, but I'm also going to let your comments sit as well. Good luck with your community growth!

    Optifine

Add it yourself. It's beyond simple, with an archiving tool like 7zip or WinRAR.
  16. There aren't a lot of nuke-resistant materials, but if Xycraft is on the server, I believe some of those blocks are nuke-proof. Of course, there's reinforced stone/glass as well.
  17. It's not.
  18. Stickied. Do not use this thread as a general "Halp meh, mah mawd pack dosen't werk!" thread. We will not like you if you do.
  19. Granted. That would be the inertia I discussed. Did you know there's someone with Down syndrome running his own restaurant? Some people are able to take that natural mess and turn it into something. Others take natural intelligence/wit and turn it into mud.
  20. Look up the numbers on wait times for access some time, as well as cancer survival rates. You may be surprised. Regardless, the argument is not as simple as <"Free Everything you need to live"> = <"better living standard"> because it's never free.
  21. Quoted for usefulness, and reference. The Common Problems and Solutions thread would have told you, most likely, why your download is failing. 90%+ of the time, it's an antivirus or firewall that doesn't like it. You don't list one, but something is stopping your minecraft.jar download. Hint: You get that file from minecraft.net, not here.
  22. There's a big difference between disliking stupid people and disliking what they do. In addition to not being hereditary, stupidity is also not permanent. It has inertia, but it can be changed.
