  1. If you know how, use a batch file to run the .jar with Java, and add "pause" as a second line to see if it gives you an error message. The batch will look something like this: java -jar technic-launcher.jar pause
  2. Before doing that, try removing your .minecraft folder and allowing the launcher to get you a new one. Mo' Creatures has a nasty habit of saving config files and other resources in there.
  3. Are you telling me you waited more than 3 weeks just to bump a post, because you couldn't be bothered to figure out how to use 64-bit Java? All you should have to do is uninstall the 32-bit version (you don't need it anyway), install the 64-bit version, and reboot.
  4. Being unable to clear your cache means something is memory-resident. Reboot your computer, then double-check to make sure Java's not loading at startup for some reason. Back up your .techniclauncher\tekkit folder, then just delete it. Follow that up with a reinstall, then copy over from the backup whatever you wanted to save (waypoints, etc.). See if that works.
  5. This doesn't matter, as the launcher doesn't use the installed version of minecraft.jar - it backdates its own version. However, this actually looks like a botched update. I suggest removing the entire mod pack folder (after making a backup, of course) and reinstalling whichever one you want to use.
  6. Have you tried removing AVG entirely? It's been known to cause problems even when disabled.

    UI problem

NightKev's probably right, but he didn't say how to fix it. If the bar at the bottom of your inventory screen is yellow, double-click it.
  8. I agree. We've also just made it against the rules to ask people to find a server for you, so just...let your server post speak for itself.
  9. Yeah, except the java.exe isn't in the path, you just add ";C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin" to the end of your path variable. It's in Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Advanced tab > Environment Variables... Make sure you just add that to the path instead of replacing the whole path. If that doesn't work, try the .jar version of the launcher instead.
  10. Since I have no clue what browser he's using, or if that's a web page itself or instead some kind of tool bar, I refuse to speculate.
  11. That probably just means it's downloading them rather slowly at this particular time, for whatever reason. Minecraft downloads sounds while you're playing, for the purpose (I think) of making the initial client download fairly small.
  12. What do you mean, Tekkit works? It has the sounds now? The whole resources folder should be copied from .minecraft to .techniclauncher\tekkit, or .techniclauncher\technicssp, or whichever mod pack you want to play with.
  13. That's not Cheap's avatar. That's the little creeper with a megaphone and hard hat on here. It's probably just the most commonly visited page on your browser.
  14. Failure to correctly download the mod files is often caused by an antivirus, or possibly a firewall, interfering with the download. If you're using Norton, McAfee, or especially AVG, shut it off while the launcher's running.
  15. Try the search bar out. There have been many many many bug reports on this, and the solution has something to do with repriotizing Java. I do not own a Mac, so it's not real super-critical for me, and I keep forgetting how to fix it.
  16. Okay. Do this: 1) Open Notepad. 2) Type in exactly the following, except maybe change the "technic-launcher" to whatever your .jar is called: java -jar technic-launcher.jar pause 3) Save As > start.bat, replacing start with whatever you feel like using, in the same directory as the launcher .jar. Run the batch file. See what it tells you.
  17. This new Antivirus..."norman" - I am curious about it.
  18. Try copying your resources folder from your .minecraft directory to the modpack directory of your choice. For some reason, the launcher occasionally doesn't install sounds correctly. Actually, it should be downloading sounds as you play, but that doesn't always work perfectly either.
  19. Have you rebooted since your brand-new Java install? Either that, or add Java to the system path variable manually. The launcher will probably not like running if it can't find Java.
  20. So, you wouldn't mind posting the contents of your server's launch.bat file and the relevant (Java) portion of your system path variable? Just to be sure? I would expect the launch.bat to work if you used 1536MB as a starting and max amount, but not, say, 1700 or 1800. That's just how 32-bit Java rolls.
  21. So...what do you mean, fried? Why do you have two AVs anyway?
  22. Yes, though the server files may need re-downloaded and configs overwritten. That can be a pain, and I highly recommend a complete server backup before messing with them.
  23. Cut it out. You're posting nonsense that's not helpful. Look around the forum for a bit to figure out what the answers are instead of just stating the obvious "solution" that isn't helpful. OP: You're trying to connect to a server that's running Tekkit 3.1.1, and you have 3.1.2 installed. Either delete your .techniclauncher\tekkit folder and downgrade by Options > Manual select, or pick a server that's running the newest version.
  24. Awww, man, somebody banned him already. I was going to do more goading, but I had to eat sometime.
  25. Yes. Yes it does.
