Im pretty sure treecapacitator is clientside only. Im sure you could just chuck it into your mods folder without any trouble.

The only reason to stay on Tekkit Lite is if you for some reason do not want to play without RedPower or IndustrialCraft 2. Tekkit is better in every way- the mods in it actually have a future and the modpack will be updated to 1.6 and beyond unlike Tekkit Lite, as well as being on a more up to date version of Minecraft and the mods. There are significant performance improvements in 1.5 forge, and yes, you can go to the moon and build space stations. The pack is radically different, and updating your world isn't very practical. Without IC2 and RP2 significant portions of your player's infrastructure will vanish. You cant add galacticraft to Tekkit Lite either- although there are 1.4.7 development versions avaliable, they are a horrendously buggy mess to the point where it is impossible to successfully launch a rocket. What I'd suggest you and your players do is stick to your current world for now, but when you are ready for a new map, maybe when the next version of Tekkit comes out, you switch to the new pack. In the meantime, I'd suggest you mess around with Thermal Expansion, as it is the replacement for IC2 in Tekkit but you do have it in Tekkit Lite as well.

I was just thinking about how glitchy big entities can get, I'm not sure how well the collisions would work. I agree, it could be awesome.

Exactly. The controller should be a magic block, because the idea is that it's a computer. The arm would be programmable. Also, I think the ability to place blocks would take the gantry from a more complicated quarry to a truly flexible and powerful tool. Also, I think a preloaded quarry and builder programs (at least primitive ones) would make it much more accessible. Multiple heads sounds reasonable, although I would suggest only a few general-purpose types. Modules sounds much better than more than one arm, remember immibis has to code this stuff and we have to program it! How would collisions be handled?
-
Here we go: the Block Manipulation Gantry. Yeah, yeah, right? It can both break and place blocks, but you'd have to program it. Maybe it could ship with a quarry program built in for those not proficient in forth, but if properly programed it could have the potential to do much more complicated tasks, like maybe a huge industrial farm. (break wheat, plant seed, next). It could also function as the builder clone, if you wanted to add one.

I had an idea for that. You have to craft and build 2 parallel rails, and once they have been built in a permitted configuration and they are powered the arm will spawn and move back and forth. Like this: I think that would be neat, and more hands on certainly more plausible than the quarry.

Is it safe to assume you mean will instead of wikk? Are you sure your java is the newest? Could you double check please? I'm sure your OS is fairly obvious, please let us know which one you have.
-
Are you sure you're playing the right pack? IndustrialCraft 2 is not in Tekkit.
-
Hmm... doesn't sound very practical, but definately terrifying, especially more than one on a giant tentacled spikey monster.
-
Hey, that's really neat! The shattered-suspended-energy sword and the background are really cool. Are those eyes or mouths? Nice rocket boots. Portraits? Headshots works too.

I don't think an artificial brain could be conscious, but the best it could achieve is essentially the same thing: tricking us into believing it is.

I was being helpful. I would consider tips on how to keep your modpack legal very helpful. Not that this isn't some attention-seeking modder's egotistical 'legal' issue, you violated the Mojang EULA. I believe Mojang would be within their rights to literally ban you from Minecraft, if they saw fit. Oh, by the way, I showed my mom what you said. She was very dissapointed.

That's the internet for you, folks.

Exactly what I was getting at.

That's Not Enough Items, and that's not what I'm asking. You have to be an OP in cheat mode to get items out of NEI.

A scoop is a tool from Forestry for Minecraft.. It's the only way to get bees from beehives.
-
I think I might have an idea what's wrong, but can you test something? Try cheating in a block from a mod and seeing if you can place it.

It does work, I've done it myself. You're doing it wrong. Come to think of it, there's probably a youtube video. See if you can find one maybe? -
You need a 'scoop'.
-
Have you tried this?
-
If you can't wait, make a custom pack.

Guys, hold your horses. Kaker & co haven't even announced an updated version of their flagship modpack Tekkit, which will likely come before secondary modpacks like Big Dig and Voltz. Be patient.
-
I'm no expert on it, but as far as I know you've pretty accurately described Technic Solder.

Never distribute minecraft.jar. That's illegal.
