Hmm... On my server, I just changed my redpower timers to about 25 seconds, and they seem to be working just fine. Do you know if your server administrator has added other custom mods on top of Tekkit 1.1.4? EDIT: Redpower's repeater may be able to lengthen the time between pulses, I can't seem to recall offhand though by how much.

Becoming a moderator was a total surprise made in Kaker's judgement. Un-becoming a moderator will also be a total surprise made in Kaker's judgement. And I'm OK with that. But back to the topic at hand, I think it honestly depends what kind of SMP server you're trying to create. If you're trying to create one dependent on trade and community-building, then sure EE/Thaumcraft/IC2 can conceivably wreck that. However, if a server is being run in a more "free for all" or is just so unpopulated it's hard to get any trade going (and self-sufficiency is more important) then I can see it being a boon.

Minecraft.net is down (I believe they run their website on the same server), so people are going to have trouble connecting to it through the launcher (vanilla or Technic).

Nope, as soon as you log off you aren't anywhere as far as the server is concerned. In fact, all your data is written to memory just like an unloaded chunk, except now you're an unloaded player. This is why I had a friend sit afk under a dirt hole for several IRL days while he waited for 1 solar panel to fill up a MFSU.

Equivalent Exchange is based around a unit of energy known as "EMC". EMC in Equivalent Exchange can be used for many things. Among them make powerful weapons, even items that when you yawn inflicts massive damage on everything in the area. These things are made with nothing but EMC. It also comes with a machine known as a Condensor. Its uses EMC as fuel to duplicate items in the game. This works on nearly all items in the game plus items that come with other mods. It can for example duplicate diamonds. EE also comes with a machine known as a Collector. Which is a zero maintenance machine that creates EMC which can be turned into large amounts of anything. This machine is made using diamond, glowstone, furnace and glass and requires no maintenance or fuel. It just sits there making free EMC all day long and its made to work with Klein Stars to transport the EMC. So once you build a Collector it creates EMC which you can then use to build more Collectors. As you build more you get a steady supply of EMC that can be turned into anything and then the anything can be used to duplicate pretty much anything you want like Dark Matter or diamonds or ender eyes or metals. This is a self-sufficient infinite energy machine that just sits and creates whatever the owner wants in any quantity the owner wants just by standing around. Be it Dark Matter Weapons for power or griefing or diamonds for weapons and armor and considering how cheap they are to build and the fact that the more you have the faster you can build even more just by duplicating the materials. The end result is that any player that builds 40-60 of these can essentially get all the stuff in the game they want for free in infinite amounts without any work. Even without the duplicator the "Destruction Catalyst" is a reusable AoE grief-anything-tool created using EMC (why use anything else?). When right clicked the catalyst creates a massive 3x3x16 hole quadruple the size of tnt. These can be recharged with ease thanks to the Collector and the catalyst can be clicked very quickly, causing enormous devastation in a few seconds. Oh, also everything is "equivalently exchanged" so you don't have to worry about managing vis like that overpowered Thaumcraft mod.

Most blocks have internal EU storage, even ones you wouldn't think of. For instance, all transformers store a little bit of EU.

How Minecraft works in general is the World only updates loaded chunks, and it only loads chunks close to Players. So if a person moves far enough away, a chunk will be unloaded into memory and kept in "stasis" until it is unloaded when a person moves close enough again.

Technic Launcher, Great idea, horrible implimentation.

I'm mildly curious, did you wait until Minecraft was out of beta mode to play it? -

I don't really need breeders as I find enough Uranium as it is. I'm into making things look cool, not just trying to abuse the hell out of efficiencies (if I were, I'd just play EE all day, 100% efficient always). The purpose for the wiring (which is still under construction) is twofold: [list type=decimal] [li]Griefers (rare on this private server) will have to do a lot of fancy footwork, brainwork, and guesswork to break into the reactor chamber to purposefully overheat it.[/li] [li]If the chunk the reactor is on is only partially loaded (as in, someone such as me moves very far away from it) then it will turn itself off until all chunks containing its reinforcement are loaded. Not 100% sure on this one but hey better to be safer than sorry![/li] [li]It looks badass & more imposing than a smaller 9x9 cube or whatever.[/li] -
Yep, even I am merely human! I'm not on the Technic/Tekkit teams but from talking to the gents, my impression is that EE will be added, but of course can be disabled server-side (like any other mods). That way, people that want it can have it, and people that don't, won't. Don't take my word as law though.

Unless there are some significant changes between EE SSP and EE SMP, I will most likely be disabling it. Part of the draw of minecraft is the process of building something, of getting to that point of being awesome. EE cuts that time out by orders of magnitude, and cheapens the feeling of finally reaching that point. Of course, I come from the cliche of "The journey is just as great as the destination, if not better" frame of mind.

Industrial Craft energy problems Please help!
SimpleGuy replied to KamikaziZombie's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
I hate to promote myself but please read this thread in order to understand how energy dissipates (specifically section 2), as it appears you have very long copper wires. Also, that may not be your only problem as your output (dot) side may not be facing your output wires. -
This thread is pretty much useless in its purpose, except to show how ungrateful you are to the Tekkit staff. Maybe when you get back, Tekkit will be back as well.

From what I understand, there is very little effort needed to move the webpage to a new hosting provider, and if there is, it shouldn't take up much time. Also, the people doing the web hosting migration are not necessarily the same people developing Tekkit. That's what makes teamwork awesome! So they're two independent happenings going on right now. The website is migrating, and Tekkit is still being worked on.

My guess is by editing the source code itself. So you'll have to decompile, deobfuscate, edit the source file, then recompile, then reobfuscate.

Modded Launcher for not premuim minecraft users
SimpleGuy replied to _uaBArt_'s question in Technic Launcher
Hi there! You didn't read the rules! Bye! -
Also experiencing Concrete and Reinforced Stone invisible block bugs, don't have time at the moment to explore it though. I'll check it out later.
-
You say you mini-mod others' posts, and then call another non-moderator that he's not a mod. Classic!
-
Not sure if this will work without an internet card but it is worth a try...
-
Yep, though don't get me wrong! I'm excited to see such a celebrated SSP mod be released for SMP, and many people on the server originally got into Tekkit thinking EE was on it (and only stuck around because I gave them cookies... er I mean I'm really just that cool of a guy...). I'll be interested to see it in its final implementation before judging it, particularly the Density Gem (definitely butchered that name) and all the AoE block removal items in it.

So over 2,800 Reinforced Stone (and who knows how much concrete) is a lot of iron to mine for 1 reactor... here are some pictures of my reactor set up. Unit 1's exterior is done, but the interior redstone controls are still under construction. Note: Unit 2 is under construction next door as well. Also, security wouldn't let me release photos that gave away too much detail about the reactor's protection or inner workings. Not that anyone griefs on the server this is located on. -
Re: 6 chamber Nuclear Reactor Setup Efficiency is merely one design factor when building a nuclear reactor. Sure this setup is hitting the efficiency roof, but it is also fully unusable (even if you did run it) due to packet size issues. It's easy to use as a man-meat measurement size, but it's one-dimensional. From a guy that plays Tekkit, I value stability much more than efficiency, as I have no idea when the reactor's chunk is going to be loaded/unloaded, and how the redstone clock state will be reloaded and in what order, so when using 5 or more cells the sheer power gained definitely outweighs any small sacrifice in efficiency for increased stability.
-
If it is, I'll be on the fence about disabling it. :/

Here's my Tekkit exploit: 3 banks of cobblestone generators 1 bank of a crap ton of recyclers Lots of mass fabricators... Iron from nothing!
