hold on, I think the issue has be indentified, you are trying to run it on less than 2 gigs of ram? you cannot use swap for jvm i don't think, you do not have the memory to run tekkit if you have less than 2 gigs because you are then trying to assign system memory to it as well, which will cause the hang on any system. Viv, I keep seeing you trying to help with like the same 3 lines, really if you don't know what specifically your advice does, don't suggest it.
There's no way I can provide a specific fix with this limited information.

Form.... Hint Hint.
I have Windows xp with Microsoft Office and I have got 256 mb of ram. Is this good enough for minecraft server? I don't know how to port forward so you'll have go do that yourself.

Well I was talking about Tekkit. I'm on an alternative reality.

That was quite the piece of literature

Honestly after some experimenting I'm not sure it is going to matter. I played it okay for a while on 1GB and then it started freezing. Gave it 2GB and played on that for a little bit and it started maxing that out. Gave it 3GB and it eventually started maxing that out. I now have given it 4GB and it is using 85% of that. The more you give it, the more it seems to use.
As long as you don't get out of memory crashes then your fine at 2 GB
Java method of memory handling is different then windows as I was told.

I'll let you in on a secret.
We're talking about Tekkit

The easiest way to get into limbo is dying.
Dying=loss of stuff
correct?

In your minefactory Reloaded config make sure it says something like this:
# Whether or not to generate rubber trees during map generation
B:WorldGen.RubberTree=true

Unless he's playing with keepinventory on (which removes the sense of danger)
No matter how much food he brings he won't get it back.

You know Optifine is D5
Download Ultra from Optifine.net set everything to low and enable multicore rendering

Show me how to build a ship. Then show me how to fly to the moon.

Try deleting the config Folder and replacing it with a new one from the site
-
Try updating LWJGL
-
?
I'm guessing not. Okay make a new folder. Copy over these files:
Config
Coremods
Mods
Launch.bat (Sh if your on mac/linux)
Server.properties
Tekkit.jar
Minecraft_server.jar
And your World save
Then launch the server

I'm guessing the white screen is caused by it not having enough ram. It needs at least 2 Gb to run smoothly.
Try making a sh file set to -Xmx2G
-
Are you using mcpc+
-
Try deleting your player.dat file in World/Players
-
Try hitting the gearbox in the top right hand corner. Check Increase PermGen Size and increase Ram.
Since Technic Launcher is a Jar on Linux you might be able to use the above parameters. I would recommend option 1 though
-
Well just a heads up, I could potentially use this in my pack. I'll test it out later for compatibility.
Looks like it'll be a great addition

I help people based on what I did to fix things. Last time I experienced a white screen, updating LWJGL fixed it. Maybe it's not the fix for his specific issue but it's what fixed mine. The information I'm given is not sufficient enough for me to determine the exact cause of his issue so I try my best to help him out based in my prior knowledge. You can't simply tell me to stop posting.
