Then create your own competing modpack and host it how you believe is correct.
If the issue is as bad as you claim then those popular modpacks will die quickly since no one can even get the pack.
If he's competent enough to figure it out.

i'm not. I just don't understand why people use it. And when people are constantly trying to get really cool and popular modpacks constantly complaining they can't because of dropbox, it shows that there needs to be a change but i haven't seen any changes on the modpack authors part so people CAN download it.
What do you expect the Technic team to do about it? Their not going to force authors to use a different host.

It's not difficult. Just replace mcpc+ with tekkit.jar

Are you incapable of understanding English? Custom modpacks are not the responsibility of Technic. All are to be maintained and managed by their authors.

No actually I need to run it at 6. Anything lower and I get out of memory. My world is so cluttered and filled with chunk loaders.

Try connecting via the IP.
And leave the server IP in the properties blank.

You have to use your Minecraft Account to login in.
If your doing that try to sign in on mojang with the same details.

I do play Hexxit, a lot actually, but I just get into the mood to play something technical but not have to do much in gathering resources, more based around large structures that I build myself for processing and creating power facilities and what not, sometimes the RPG element in Hexxit gets boring.
Your hexxit resources are worthless when it comes to IC2 and Railcraft.
Just get the IC2 beta and download the latest stable of Railcraft.

The only game I can't seem to get working on my Win8 is GTA4. Damn seculauncher error...
You have to set gta4browser.exe
Gtaencoder.exe
And
Gtaiv.exe
To launch in compatibility mode for Vista.

yeah i cant even think of any mother board that has enough slots for that much ram let alone a reason to allocate that much to minecraft and even if that was possible the sweet spot seems to be 2g any more or less seems to get laggy with no known reason
