  1. Please fill in the rest of the requirements if you expect to receive help. Look for the error logs under '%appdata%/.technic/hexxit' and find 'ForgeModLoader-client-0.log'
  2. Did you try connecting through direct connect, using the internal IP instead, with the correct port? That seems to work for me 'most of the time.' If anything else fails, well, perhaps check your virusscanner/firewall settings. Edit: I just read a thread that recommended to make sure that both computers have the used network set as a 'home' network.
  3. Please post a better explanation here, using the form handed to you in the top thread. http://forums.technicpack.net/forums/hexxit-bug-board.94/
  4. Decoration is always nice when you have beaten every single boss and gathered every single treasure. Like me.. ... wondering what I'm doing with my life... ... as the sun keeps setting everytime I look out the window. *AHEM* Eitherway, I find it gives a nice touch to building small secrets around my base on multiplayer and they hardly ever get detected. Also, I just noticed... I don't have those blocks anywhere in my NEI as they should be automatically hidden by NEI's configuration files... at least... for me it is. Helpfull Edit: Go to your Hexxit's Config folder and look for the file 'immibis-microblocks.cfg' Open this in any editor you prefer and look for 'enableNEI:' If this isn't in the document, add 'enableNEI: false' Now stop editing the default config files youuuuuu rascal you.
  5. These posts aren't helping. Goto: %appdata%/.technic/hexxit/ And find files like: ForgeModLoader-client-0.log Open with notepad or similair product and paste the contents here between [ code ] brackets Like so
  6. ... You need more than 1 GB to run Hexxit properly, set it on at least 3 to run it stabley enough. As for NEI crashing, perhaps you should delete the hexxit folder (after saving your world) and redownload it through the launcher. Either that, or you did some tweaking to the files yourself somehow, as this is the first time I've heard of it ever happening. Make sure that the launcher downloads the RECOMMENDED VERSION (Gear under the Hexxit logo on the left) and not a Dev version somehow.
  7. Works perfectly fine on my server's spawner. Make sure you have enough room to spawn the endermen in, keep in mind that endermen are exceptionally tall and spawners by default look for a 9 x 9 x 2 region for valid spawn points. If the roof isn't tall enough to support the placement of the ~3 block high endermen, it won't work. Keep in mind that Tier 3 spawners can only spawn mobs that come natural in the environment. Endermen only spawn in 'The End' naturally, according to the original Soul Shard mod's lore. You would need at least a Tier 4 or Tier 5 shard to use it succesfully, and even then I'd advise against using a tier 4 spawner as it would continuelessly spawn Endermen.
  8. I suppose that's one way to solve the problem, yet it could have been resolved much simpler without losing any content by just doing as I had asked. Continue being a dick on the forums and lets see how much help you get offered next time.
  9. Well, you... must have somehow missed the really big thread title in the top of this section http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/there-is-now-a-hexxit-bug-section.49314/ Please post ALL The information required so that people can help you. http://forums.technicpack.net/forums/hexxit-bug-board.94/
  10. No, the backpack will not let you wear armour if it's equipped in the chest slot. However, Tconstruct adds a 'KNAPSACK' which is the one that goes into your armor GUI http://wiki.technicpack.net/Knapsack However, it doesn't act the same as a backpack, as you can put other backpacks and containers into your knapsack, see it as an expansion to your inventory. Keep in mind that the knapsack is a seperate part of the armor Gui and might not always load. If it dissapears, open the armor GUI and it should appear again. The knapsack 's inventory is NOT saved when using NEI's built in inventory copier and is also not protected by charms that give you your inventory back, so make sure that you keep valuables out of there when you travel into very dangerous areas.
  11. I'll be performing some research on this problem, I have read in a thread somewhere that loading up the save in single-player and then checking the error log would give -the actual problem-, but that could just be luck or a very strange coïncidence. I think that the reason that better dungeons nukes some of the chunks, at least from my experience, is because the chunk undergoes a hard reset for some unexplainable reason, every time I've loaded a world that had a crash like this constantly had a different type of dungeon generation per crash, untill the crashing entity was removed. HOWEVER, it could be that the chunk is crashing BECAUSE the dungeon is being spawned in 'one of the' chest blocks which, for some reason, causes better storage to freak out, something about reïnforced chests too close to eachother thinking that they are one piece, or something similair. Anybody else that had something like this so far? Is there anyone with an affected world (preferably single-player compatible) with OP's particular problem that would be able to upload it 'as is' without additional mods not available in hexxit, so I might pick it apart in MCEdit and get some analytical details?
  12. My oh my, quite the hostile little kite aren't you? Perhaps you should try removing the mod from your setup entirely to make sure it doesn't cause problems again, posting a proper bug report with the necessary crash logs and THEN ask for alternate solutions in a discussions thread if the first response doesn't work out for you, instead of blatantly accusing the staff compiling these mods together and the 36 other completely unrelated developers. So far, the only problem I had with better storage is that one of the capsules tried to connect with an inaccessible chest, but that problem has been removed. Neither have I had any crashes with this error in any of the mods. So pipe down, shape up, and keep the tone neutral. On a sidenote, have you, by chance, tried to remove that specific block causing the problem?
  13. Any other page, use the edit button and see how the format works using the preview function. Otherwise, wikipedia has their own little category that explains all the functions and most, if not all, of the functions work. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Tutorial )
  14. Oh my, I'm glad I'm doing this research... I'll post whatever I find on the wiki page shortly, it's... interesting, to say the least. Edit: Both arrows and Shortbows were just upped, I'll probably improve it over time, I usually write an article and then rewrite it 50 times. Okidoki, done hijacking this thread! xD
  15. Well, sure, if you don't mind me going into specific details with excel charts and what not. EDIT Also, let me make it clear that i have absolutely no knowledge on wikipedia. Temp page for the shortbow is up, I have no knowledge on how the cleaver works so far.
  16. For anyone requiring troubleshooting with this problem: Download the program 'MCEdit', select the problematic entity (or region) and tap 'Delete entity' This SHOULD remove him from the world.
  17. Title: [Major] Crash on loading world after resurrecting Miner Version: 1_0_5 OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP 1 64-Bit Java Version: Java SE Runtime Environment (7.0_12-b08) (build 1.7.0_12-ea-b08) Description of Problem: Using the necronomicon, I had attempted to resurrect one of the miner-ghosts that will normally spawn and attack you when you attempt to absorb their souls. However, on doing this, the miner started wandering around a bit, fell off a cliff, and now forever repeats the same AI cycle that crashes my server/world. It seems quite obvious from the error report that this is caused by the 'Allied AI' incapable of tracking me due to there being no path, a rather sloppy bug. 18. I'm currently experimenting with a Manyullyn bow tagged with draw-speed enchantments and then enchanting Manyullyn-slime-feather arrows to shoot extremely quick extremely far, so far the best damage I made it do is 14 across a chunk, tagging and killing a spider. I lack the materials the experiment more. And with enchantments, I obviously mean modifications, but I can imagine I might make it a little more interesting... Hmmm... time to do some RESEARCH!
  19. That's also a common issue, older versions of better dungeons and battle towers directly spawning stuff in an occupied chunk. This, in fact, is also deemed to be the cause of what crashes most hexxit servers (apparently moreso than unloaded chunks popping out and the usage of the stupid enderbow).
  20. Probably a stupid question, but, is your server using the same Hexxit version as your client is? Can other people join?
  21. You'll need to be a bit more specific than that. Exactly what happens when you crash? Do you get any errors? Did you get a crashlog? Are you running the same version as the server is? What's your version of Java? Have you tried posting this on the bug report thread?
  22. Because of it's major speedboost, getting a Manyullyn + Paper Crossbarred rapier with luck, moss and 3 stacks of sharpness, it's almost like a rapid-stabby-stabby armor piercing version of the endersword. Mostly insta K.O.'s mobs on a double tap and makes quick work of any boss-typed enemies. Let's face it, the lavacrystal/fire enchants don't do crap versus insta kill weapons. Combine that with the Scale armour and you basically have a fast attacking agile tank that makes quick work of any dimension. __ As for farming, have you guys tried to make Soul shards yet? I have three active farms set up in less than a day for any type of crafting material I would need (Slime, skulls and gunpowder).
  23. Interesting, how exactly is it not doing anything? Could you post some more specific information? What exactly are you doing that isn't downloading? What version of the installer are you using? What version of Java do you have? Is your firewall blocking the download somehow? Did you log in with your account properly? Do you receive any error messages? Have you tried posting this under the launcher bug section?
  24. Title: Portals resetting specific chunks. Version: 1_0_5 OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP 1 64-Bit Java Version: Java SE Runtime Environment (7.0_12-b08) (build 1.7.0_12-ea-b08) Description of Problem: Follow up to: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/twilight-portal-reset-chunk.49519/ Running on Hexxit Version 1.0.5 with optifine and Player API installed. !EXITING! a Twilight/End portal within loaded distance of the affected chunk will have it reset to it's default (natural) state, removing any and all progress. If the portal is in the affected chunk, the portal will simply be moved ontop of the affected chunk for the player to spawn. Attempts to prevent this from happening are described in the thread, but so far all have shown to be fruitless. SOMETIMES the game will crash instead of spawning the player ontop of the chunk, in which case on reloading the world, the chunk may or may not have been reloaded. See attached error log. 25. I'll see what I can do about making a non crash prone guide to this. Considering you probably wont have an enderportal in your base I don't think I'll go after a fix for that. EDIT: Alright, so after numerous tests, it doesn't appear to be is hard as I thought it would be. First thing first, close the portal in both the twilight forest and your base. Do this MANUALLY (so with a warping plugin, or MCEdit to move the player character between dimensions). Second, move your portal 12 steps in any direction (not counting up or down) and place it down again. Enter the portal, if this works, there's no problem. If you go back and the game crashes, teleport to the twilight forest either with a warp plugin or with MCEdit, disrupt the portal and create it again (preferably the exact same spot) and it should allow you to freely warp back and forth again. I'll test now if it works for the original position. After edit: Testing this with the original position still caused the game to crash, unfortunately. Attempted to delete DIM 7 and creating the same portal, caused the chunk to STILL be cleared, however, moving the portal 12 steps as mentioned before doesn't result in any problems like this. Disregard, only saved for reference. Aaaaaaannd it's gone: After a 3 hour session in the twilight forest, I attempted to go back, followed by a crash and the chunk being lost again. Forget it, this doesn't work. Might as well just start over completely. If you are reading this and are in a persistent SSP world you absolutely do not want to 'do over', save your DIM1 folder inside your world's save folder everytime before you jump OUT of twilight forest, that way you can just teleport out, then splash the old DIM1 folder right onto it and restart. Either that, or use MCEdit and copy over all the chunks you would like to save with the export/import function and paste it in a newly generated world. I'm not certain that this will work but for some reason I think it's related to the seed.
