  1. ah that explains the rapid posting... (I'm not either lol)
  2. You can use quarries in the nether although with problems, all the lava. If you try to mine over a lava lake you won't be able to reach bedrock. You'll also hit pockets of lava now and then which will create some rather interesting formations as the quarry digs around the lava flows. The water trick doesn't work but if you where to nursemaid a quarry by filling in any lava pockets it will work. I managed it once from ~Y: 120 all the way down. Took about a week watching it to get everything in there.
  3. And the zombie pigmen won't attack you if you mine it either. Only the nether ores mod does that.
  4. TL : DR nether brick block - tendrils. I may have the nomenclature wrong but the tendrils symbol is a "feature" symbol, as in it adds additional world generation that's not related to terrain and biomes. The nether brick symbol is a material modifier symbol and can change what material a feature is constructed from. The tendrils could be seen as a noun and the nether brick as an adjective. Mystcraft follows English grammar in the sense that a descriptive word comes before the object being described as in "red ball".
  5. I find silver along side lead or tin at about the same depth as gold. Usually like one or two silver ore blocks in a vein of the other.
  6. Hey, we're all idiots from time to time. By the way, Tony, a linking book ;)
  7. Generate an age preferably not an underground or floating island type and use a highly upgraded power suit for speed and flight and run around keeping an eye on your mini map. You'll find pages in stone libraries that are fairly easy to spot on the map. You'll have to run A LOT to do this as they are maybe a little less common than oil geysers in the overworld.
  8. Sometimes I get this from my own server from time to time and to fix it I have to close not only Tekkit but the Technic Launcher as well. I believe the issue stems from the Launcher's new ability to just hide itself instead of closing. I believe it's basically a session timeout for your credentials to minecraft.net.
  9. There's a dedicated equipment slot in the inventory screen for it. Also note that the parachute that is an optional module of the power suit is not the same as Galacticraft's parachute, although it would achieve the same end result.
  10. From my understanding, and some of the older forum members might correct me, is that it's basically the evolution of the Tekkit modpack over major Minecraft version changes. Tekkit Lite is based on MC 1.4.x and has IC2 which everyone either loved or fantasizes about being in Tekkit. Tekkit is based on MC 1.5.x and included Galacticraft and not IC2. There isn't a Tekkit pack for MC 1.6.x as of yet and we're all waiting patiently.
  11. Did you configure your Filler correctly? With fillers there's what appears to be a crafting grid but it's actually a pattern for what the filler will do. You use brick blocks (the red Mario-esque ones) and glass. Filling all 9 spaces with brick blocks (only 1 per slot is needed) will put the filler into fill mode. A glass block surrounded by brick blocks will cause the filler to build walls instead. Using all glass blocks will make the filler a remover. More accurately it's filling the marked space with air blocks. It can even build stairs and pyramids but I haven't seen much use for that. The other thing to be careful with your markers because they can be a bit glitchy.
  12. Well you just engaged in an alternate form of showing off. I realized just how much my designs suck... still building boxes and domes over my stuff... that's amazing Tony... Give us a photo tour? I personally build for the sake of it. But yes I agree that if you're not battling other players assorted ass-hattery there's not much "benefit."
  13. I usually play in creative to test things like this. I'll use enough empty Redstone Cells so that combined they draw more power than my power source is generating. Then use the meter on one of the input connections to the RECs. They will all have the same average input rate and multiply that by how many RECs you have. It's the best way I've found to test the large amount of power generated by a core like that. And trust me I was testing a lot lol. But I stumbled onto a discovery. Look at this. The Energetic infuser It is capable of taking 500mj/t and gives a nice meter view in it's info tab. If you put in something that can be charged A LOT like a power suit piece with a maxed out HV battery the infuser will draw a lot of power to charge the item. It's a fairly accurate way to make short runs of your power with very detailed info.
  14. Make sure his IP has not changed in that process. If he also removed the configuration while uninstalling hamachi he'll have a new IP address. Other than that you need to make sure you're both well connected to hamachi. I don't think a relayed connection would work so well. I've not used hamachi in quite some time.
  15. If you're trying to use Hamachi you have to connect to his Hamachi IP address not his internet connection's external IP address. The server-ip option should be blank. For a private hosted server you won't need it. It's used by those with more complex setups where you need to specify MC only to serve on one IP address of all available ones.
  16. Check the file mentioned here. It might be a corrupted config file on line 1780. If you haven't made any changes to this file, try removing it and Hexxit should recreate a new one. If that doesn't work try copying one from a fresh install.
  17. Aah I missed that part. Actually come to think of it this would work well even if there wasn't a fast enough constant stream since quarries have an internal power buffer it would keep going (albeit slowing down).
  18. There's a part missing there Jakalth, how does Teraku get a quarry to emit a redstone signal in the first place? I can't find anywhere that a Quarry emits a redstone signal when idle/inactive or under any circumstances.
  19. There are several ways to get liquid across dimensions. There's the shoe leather express. Although it sounds like you already discovered that method. There's Liquid Tesserects and Phazed Pipes which both allow you to create a virtual connection between two blocks/pipes and liquid just flows like it was right next to it. The issue with this is that long term pumping lava from the nether can cause server lag. A dimensional loader would be needed to keep the chunks loaded on both sides. I never had a problem with it by myself on my own little server but your results may vary. Only thing I had to do was move it from time to time. As weirleader suggested you can use a liquid transposer to fill portable tanks or buckets then place them inside of an Ender Chest. On the receiving end you remove the tanks or buckets and extract with another liquid transposer. A third possibility would be to use Ender Tanks. It's essentially a tank that can be in multiple locations at once.
  20. Make sure you're using the same Tekkit versions. Click on the gear on the left under the Tekkit logo. It will let you choose which version of tekkit you're running. The launcher shouldn't "update" the pack if all you did was add a mod to it. It doesn't check every file on every launch. So your Old instance was probably set to a specific version and your new instance is set to recommended or latest or another version entirely.
  21. While that's a nifty piece of code and does what it does quite well it won't help much with how much power per tick he's producing. Unfortunately there really isn't a way to do this in Tekkit as far as I know. I don't think the data returned from Open Peripherals when connected to a conduit is of any use for this need. If you don't mind installing another mod for the sake of knowing for sure, look at Ender I/O. It has a power monitor block that works with MJ quite well. Only problem is you might have to rerun your power conduits with EIO's in order for it to work.
  22. The issue isn't the suit. Remember that at one point deep sea diving was done in those big bulky suits with the brass helmet and glass windows. In either a space suit or a diving suit the basics is the same, pressure is used to provide a survivable environment. The difference is which direction does the system have to apply that pressure. Underwater, pressure from the environment pushes in and so the suit has to push back out. In space, pressure from inside the suit tries to get out so it has to be held in. From a design stand point that is a very important difference.
  23. You could try to lux capacitor them to death... pew pew pew...
